"for that part of town the prices were good, especially for the quailty meal. Best mozzerella i've had. Only drawback, although they were not crowded in the least, really rushed us through. we went early , maybe they thought we were in a hurry."

"As usual we had a great meal here. The pasta with seafood was cooked to perfection. The pasta was al dente and the seafood fresh and cooked perfectly. The staff was professional, friendly, and attentive. This is the reason we return here time after time."

"This was my second visit to Luna Piena. Maybe it was our early reservation, but I didn't have as magical of an experience this time with my date as I did with my family a few years ago. We appreciated the thorough service effort, but the server consistently hung around and made us feel like we weren't having a private romantic dinner. We started with a salad on the specials menu, which was good, but not great. My date ordered a dish off the special menu for the evening and it was delicious (pappardelle with lamb and mushrooms), but my gnocchi dish was so salty it was almost inedible. The wine was reasonably priced for NYC (~$55 for a middle of the road Super Tuscan) and the tiramisu was spot on. Overall, not blown away this time."

"Service really was great. Assume it was the owner or manager who was constantly floating around the tables and making sure everyone was satisfied. I mentioned an entree looking good and he brought me a nice little plate to try it. This was after our meals were served, so was just out of being kind that he did so.
My only comment would be that it got a little confusing because more than one person was taking our orders. I thought maybe it was a mistake and told the second gentleman that someone had already helped us. He went on to take our salad orders, which we never got.

"Luna Piena has always been a favorite of mine, and when I moved out of New York 10 years ago every occassion back I make a special point of going to dinner there. And after all these years they never disappoint. The foood, the staff, the service and ambiance cannot be beat..and I have dined all over the world. A true gem, hopefully Luna Piena will continue its unblemished record of a great restuarant for many more years to come."

"I've been there many times. Food is excellent, service is great, and most of all I feel appreciated and special when I'm there. "We both agreed the food was only fair. Ordered veal parmigiana and veal with fresh mozzarella and cherry tomatoes. We usually don't order "red sauce" Italian, but we were in the mood on a very cold winter night. The veal parm was fine, but the other veal was cold, the cheese barely melted and overly breaded. The side of pasta that came with the veal parm was smothered in what can only be described as a jar sauce. The eggplant parm appetizer was okay, but bland. The waiter was very nice, and did tell us that the appetizer was enough for two people so we wouldn't order a second. The service was very good and the atmosphere is very nice. It was our first time at Luna Piena, and I'd like to say we'd give it another try, but probably not."
