"Brunch is amazing, service is fantastic, and the views will blow you away. The Brunch menu changes from time to time, but always has steak and seafood. The restaurant serves their own house champagne (sparkling wine) and it's not half bad. The lemon cheesecake for dessert was superb. All around 5 stars."

"The location of the restaurant is very beautiful and the ocean view is just breath taking.
The food is okay however the inside of the restaurant has this funny smell. I'm not sure if it's the carpeting or what. It's not a good smell. Our service was poor. The waiter seems to be handling and serving many tables. It takes him forever to get back to us. He did not even check us if everything was okay not until the end when we already finished eating.I ask for another glass of soda assuming that it's free refill.
I wa surprise that I was charge for my 2nd glass of coke for $3.00. The waiter did not informed me that it will cost me $3.00 for a refill . Every waiter should inform customers that there is a refill charge."

"Las Brisas has THE phenomenal view of Laguna Beach. Our party arrived in time to stroll around the garden pathway watching the sun set, accompanied by a local who sang and played guitar. Our 7 person party was able to get a stunning ocean view in the restaurant - one view was of the last shades of pink and purple on the horizon while the other view was of the lights of Laguna Beach. The food was very good (emphasis on sea food) and the wine enthusiasts were happy with the selection. The service was a little slow - to be expected on a busy Saturday night. But with such a terrific view, we weren't in any hurry. Several of the guests were from out-of-town and they were VERY impressed. Highly recommended!"

"The food was fantastic and the service was very good. The location was stellar, but in our opinion, the restaurant has neglected it's own ambiance assuming the view will overcome it's dated cold atmosphere inside the restaurant. The outside seating is amidst some of the most beautiful scenery on the planet, but sitting inside the restaurant definitely detracted from the romantic location. All that being said, the food and service along with the location of the restaurant itself made the experience very enjoyable - one we would repeat."

"Dinner menu and ambiance was outstanding I really enjoyed our anniversary... we'll be back next weekend. The only thing that wasn't that great was the dessert menu. I'm dessert lover and that is the must for me after awesome dinner like that. We had cheesecake anf coconut flan, it was OK but not great....I felt it spoiled great dinner. Chef need to work on dessert to create something worth of 5 star. But everything else after ordering 3 most expensive dinner plates, hats off to chef...it was the best! Great evening, thank you."

"The food was delicious and interesting, but we were all disappointed that there was no brunch buffet like they had before.
The brunch was more like lunch fare. Much more lunch type options and only one breakfast option such as an omelette. Also quite expensive. I would eat at Las Brisas again, but for lunch or dinner; not brunch."

"The view was incredible, the food was great, our waiter (forgot his name?) was witty, attentive, patient, friendly. We had a very romantic dinner, watched the sun setting over Catalina Island... even the doplhins put on a show jumping out of the water for us... could not have been better"

"Have visited many times, and always pleased with the excellent service and great food. Last night with a party of six we all had different entrees and after sharing - couldn't decide which was the best, and all would order all of them again. Their appetizer ceviche and calamari was memorable. We sucommbed to their guacamole and it was divine - and the tortilla chips were fresh and clean and just plain wonderful. Don't let Mexican restaurant throw you off as this place is fine dining with a Mexican flourish."

"Amazing - totally lived up to its reviews. Food was excellent (and my husband is a professional chef). I would suggest if you want a quieter experience, ask for the second room - it is smaller - we walked through the first dining room, and it had a few large groups and the noise level was quite high - perfect where we were. I would highly recommend."

"Although we live in a neighboring coastal town, we had not been to Las Brisas for a few years. It was not as nice as I remembered. We had to ask for a wine list after several minutes of looking at the menus to realize that the wines were not listed on the menus we were given. We waited several minutes before having our drink orders taken and my son's drink came out separately. Overall, the waiter seemed rushed and did not describe the special in a very appealing way. The food was mediocre for the price and salad with dinner was extra.

The positives: get there before sunset and see a spectacular view of the coastline or watch the sunset. If I were not a local, I would visit for the view alone."

"I took my fiance to Las Brisas for his birthday. It was both our first time eating here. We were seated promptly by the window because the restaurant was fairly empty considering it was a Monday night. I'm sure the view would've been amazing during lunch or a sunset dinner. Regardless, the view was still nice. The food was very good and the our server was excellent. We're definitely going to try the Sunday brunch next time!"

"Las Brisas was terrific. We went for brunch and the food was excellent. The server was a little slow but I gave him some slack because he also had a large group celebrating a 95th birthday - can you imagine turning 95? The view is AMAZING and they have a terrific outisde patio for drinks and food. Overall - really good!"

"Dining at Las Brisas on Christmas Eve has been a family tradition. We were promptly seated, but then the service vanished. We waited an unusally long time for a waiter to appear. Then, we waited for nearly 30 minutes for our beverages and appetizers to appear. The food was excellent as always, but such slow service makes me want to consider changing my Christmas Eve tradition. There was no apology from the waiter or any attempt to compensate us for the awful service."

"We showed up with a party of four and they even had the good sense to accommodate late arrivals. The service was good and friendly. They provided anything that we asked for. I'd highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who has never experienced quality mexican cuisine. Can't wait to have a romantic dinner there."

"The food was good but not exactly as described by the waiter. Our waiter, Dante, was fairly inattentive although he spent a lot of time at the tables around us. When we were asked about dessert, my daughter said "uh" and the waiter turned and walked away. Perhaps he thinks that two women diners, one being a senior citizen, will not give good tips. His actions assure that is what will happen. I, the senior, regularly give 20% tip as I did in this case. However, I really regret rewarding him to that extent."

"The service was okay. We had to search for our waiter a couple of times. The food was good, but there are many other places you can get good Mexican or seafood for cheaper. The gem is the view at this place. Try to get a window seat (even though some, like ours, had a partially obscured view). The view of the ocean from here is breath taking. I don't think brining kids here would be a problem, but it certainly is not catered to them. Could be a romantic dinner out, but the tables are close together and lack privacy."

"One loud, large party was allowed to be so noisy throughout their lunch that the other small tables throughout the dining room could barely hear conversations at their own tables. Wait staff did nothing to point out to the loudmouths at that table that they were not the only party in the dining room. It seriously diminished what would have otherwise been a lovely holiday atmosphere."

"We took our east coast guests here for Christmas Day lunch because we know that you cannot beat the spectacular views, the ambiance of the restaurant,the food and service. "My husband and I have been to Las Brisas a couple of times but it was the first time for our children (ages 11 & 6) so we were hoping for a window seat, which we got. The view was spectacular (it helped that is was a beautiful day). My six year old is very picky and there were no choices available on the menu and our waiter was able to make arrangements to have something special made for him. My husband ordered the Pollo Jerusalem and he loved it."

"While the service was very good the food was horrible!
My fish was overcooked and tasteless and the soup tasted like it was right out of a can.
The drinks were watered down. The dinner with tip was $120; I have had much better meals for half the price. I have eaten at this restaurant many times in the past and the quality of the food has really gone down."

"Dinner at 7pm for 2 adults, a teenager and a toddler. Seated immediately at a corner table with a view over looking Main Beach. Our server Carlo was amazing and catered to our every need. "As a first time diner I was very impressed with the welcome we received and the attentive but not overbearing service, knowledge, recommendations and perfect manners of our server. The food was excellent and the prices very reasonable. Our only complaint, if you could call it that, was it was not obvious where the valet parking was for a first time visitor, especially at the front of the restuarant and we needed to ask. We had a great table by the window to watch the sunset and my visit to Las Brisas will always be memorable."

"We hadn't been there for many years because its a bit hard to get in during the summer (it is so popular due to that amazing view) so we went in the winter. I forgot how great the food is. The food exceeded our expectations. We brought 2 friends from out of town that like mexican food and fish so this combined the two in a very upscale way. We each raved about our dishes. The calamari is about the best there is. Great guacamole. The sole with crab melts in your mouth--so full of flavor. The Huachinango is very good. LOVED the evening. Fantastic outdoor bar area and some of the best margaritas around."

"Whenever in town, I always try to get to Las Brisas. The restaurant has been a consistent favorite for over 10 years and they get better and better each and every time. The guacamole is outstanding as well as the fish - so fresh and flavorful. Prices are consistent with the area, but you don't feel that you haven't gotten value for your money. I highly recommend it whenever you find yourself in Laguna Beach... and be sure to ask for a window table as the view is spectacular!"

"Las Brisas was great. We had a 2:30 reservation for 11 and got in at 2;15. On another occasion, we tried to make a reservation through Open Table for The Bazarr restaurant in Los Angeles at 5:30 pm and Open Table said the whole evening was full. We stopped by there on our own and got in and most of the restaurant was empty."

"We have been to Las Brisas a few times before, and made plans to meet another couple there on a Sunday. We were surprised to find a brunch menu, and the quality of the food and service were astounding! Starters included a fresh fruit bowl and postres (mexican-style danishes). That was followed by either soup or salad, and then we had entrees - grilled mahi-mahi over potato galette with a side of eggs benedict for me; grilled lamb with a side of shrimp for my friend. Lastly, we each were served a small slice of cake for dessert. All through the meal, the waiter kept pouring champagne. All in all, a very enjoyable 2 hour meal, and we looked out at the Pacific Ocean. Great all around!"

I do think that the wine I ordered should have probably been decanted for a bit (it was an '03), as it did need a bit of time to "loosen up" - that was probably my mistake. The lobster bisque was good, but nothing special. The swordfish chef's special was lightly breaded and cooked just right. The Alaskan halibut was as light and tender as ever. "We had reservations but upon arrival chose to sit on the patio. Beautiful day, beautiful view. We love to watch people, and people with dogs...and there was even a wedding party at the nearby gazebo. The patio is open and airy (complete with heaters) yet intimate and private. We were barely aware that people were at neigboring tables. We had multiple people that were attentive to us during our visit. The service was great and the food delicious! The staff and level of service they provide is consistent. We brought guests for a first time visit (it was only our second time coming)and they absolutely enjoyed it. One of my guests commented 'Hats off to the chefs" -the 'omelet bar' is to die for! The warm waffles were a hit as well."

"food was great... service was poor. took ages to get a waiter to our table and then longer for us to receive our drinks. We were there for a special occasion... kind of a big deal... an 18th birthday, and it was not even recognized. We probably would only go back and dine casually on the patio next time."

"I took a very special lady to dinner here recently. Along with an exquisitely prepared meal and fine wine at a reasonable price, we were afforded a beautiful sunset as our selections were brought to our table by very pleasant waitstaff. I'm confident this experience was a significant factor in our relationship's blossoming. I know of no better location to begin falling in love!!"
