One of the first sophisticated, yet casual neighborhood haunts, Deleece is still considered one of the best. With its innovative, seasonably inspired eclectic menu, its affordable prices, and warm welcoming service, Deleece is the neighborhood restaurant you wish was in your neighborhood! We serve lunch Tuesday through Friday from 11:30am to 2:30pm and we serve brunch Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00am to 2:30pm. Reservations for Sunday brunch are accepted for parties of 6 or more.

"Very sad to report I don't know what happened to this Restaurant. We really liked it when it was further north on Southport. Since it's been at this newer location near the Music Box we have been so disappointed. We've given this new location about three tries and keep hoping maybe they're just having an off night. Items get forgotten by wait staff, food is not cooked well, the kitchen is really slow, service is either really attentive one moment then nowhere to be found the next. The only recent highlight was that the outdoor space allowed us to enjoy the nice evening weather. We never say this, but as we were leaving we both looked at each other and said we don't need to come back. Sorry."

"We brought friends who immediately let us know they were glad we'd picked the place--they should have been! Clean plate club all around! We all had different appetizers, entrees, and desserts, And we were all delighted. A bit noisy, but though the tables are close together, we felt free to have a free-wheeling conversation. I happened to be sitting so that i could smell the other entrees and knew we would all be delighted with the duck seafood pasta, and the seared tuna. Each with a distinct fragrance to enhance the meal! Kudos to Deleece. Oh, and getting the check--they brought it right away but didn't rush our leaving though we sat another 30 minutes."

"I've been going to Deleece off and on since they first opened north of Irving Park on Southport. Always consistently very good food. I even went with some somewhat spoiled wealthy country club types who complimented me on my excellent choice of restaurants."

"This was a last minute reservation so I didn't expect much. The food was fantastic as was our waitress. Our only complaint was simply the acoustics. We found ourselves nearly shouting to hear each other. I know there is nothing that can be done so keep in mind, this is great for friends. If you want an intimate atmosphere, this isn't it."

"This was our second time at Deleece, and we enjoyed it as much as our first visit. We started with the calamari which was very tender and flavorful. for our entrees we had the pork chop and the lamb shank special. The pork chop was very good, if not pertucularly unique. The lamb shank was rich and hearty, a good choice on an unusually cold April night. The wine list was reasonably priced with a nice selection of domestic wines."

"This was our first time here. Staff was very friendly, managing partner was also there. He was personable, attentive, energetic and funny but not overbearing. Bartender seemed to be knowledgeable about the beers they carried, and our server seemed to be knowledgeable about their wines. We ordered a couple of beers, and the table next to us had a short conversation with the server about their wines. We had the signature salmon, wagyu beef parpadelle, and the creme brulee. All met my (positive) expectations, though the salmon exceeded them. Definitely a place I'll return to."

"Went on a Monday night to celebrate an anniversay - nothing big, just a little dinner. We ordered the polenta cakes, which are served atop mashed tomatoes with olives and leeks - good stuff. I ordered the special for the night, which was a lamb shank with mashed potatoes and gravy - while it was good, it was a big portion, kind of hard to get into, and not much of a spectacular flavour outside of it being well cooked. My girlfriend has the salmon, with black rice, and asparagus, which was well put together, flavour-wise, with a nice crisp on the outside. My gin thirty drink was really good. We were too full to order dessert. We had a groupon, which helped bring the price down. I will say - I really liked the looks of the place."

"Just a good, solid place to grab a bite. Started with a beet salad and rosemary polenta, which were well executed, not overseasoned, and of good size. Followed up with duck breast + risotto cake and shrimp linguini. Would have liked the duck a bit crisper, but the sauce and cardamom/star anise accents came through well. Linguini wasn't distinguished by the recipe, but all elements were perfectly done. We used a Groupon, and I feel that without it the prices were just a little high. Worth a try, IMO."

"Great restaurant where it's easy to hear your partner talk, the bar tender knows how to make a drink to your particular taste, and the food is delicious. "The food was good, no reason not to go there. We enjoyed what we ordered, although pretty much everything could have used a touch more salt. The polenta appetizer was just "ok" - u wouldn't order it again. The cauliflower and apples were good. Fresh homemade bread was nice. Good cocktail. The duck was the best part of t he meal. My swordfish was a bit overcooked. All in all it was good food, we ate it all and enjoyed our evening, but since we don't live in that area, it is doubtful we would make a point to go back unless it was convenient. Very good service - great waitress and good bartender."

"The salad, the risotto and the alcoholic beverages were great! The friendliness of the staff was lovely. It was my daughter's 21st birthday and we were flying in from out of town; they were able to pull together something special for us, thank you thank you. It is a pretty noisy space and that was little tough on the two older members of our party and the service though friendly was disjointed. It is a good place for dinnner before the show next door, and maybe ask for a corner table if you want to talk to your dinner mates."

"We had a reservation, which on a weekend I would strongly recommend. They were pretty packed even when we left around 9:30. We were seated promptly. Service was very attentive and food was tasty. I went with my husband and next time I think I would go with friends or a group. It's too loud to be a good date spot- tables are a bit squeezed and the open layout makes for a very noisy experience."

"There was some kind of engagement party going on (March 2) and the noise level was so high that my wife and I could not hold a conversation across the table. Booze parties may be profitable for you, but they do not not mix with civil dining. Too bad. The food was good. I doubt that we will come again."

"Not our first time at Deleece. While we always enjoy the food, this time we noticed how very loud the place is. There was a private party in the back part of the space contributing to the noise but they also play rock music from speakers which does not help.
Even when the party was winding down the noise level did not get better. Very hard to carry on any type of conversation.
In addition, we waited over 25 minutes for our entrees to arrive. The server did check in with us to say it was coming shortly but no other explanation was provided.
I think we'll try other restaurants in the area next time we have reasons to be in the Southport corridor."

"Hands down one of my new favorite places for dinner! This was the second time I have been to this location and I was blown away at how wonderful it was. My friend and I had a fantastic dinner and a great bottle of wine. Everyone on the staff is super friendly. This is quickly becoming our new "go to" spot."

"I have been to the Clark location several times as well as the old location on Irving Park and was disappointed in the food at this new locale. We started with the lobster bisque and it tasted almost burned or from the bottom of the pot. The onion tart was unremarkable; I was hoping for something more savory. Finished with the crab cakes and they were sub par. I really was hoping for a better experience based upon previous visits but am not sure I would go to the Southport location for dinner again."

"Very convenient if you are attending the Mercury Theater or The Music Box. The restaurant was crowded and the tables are too close together. The room is pleasant and the brick walls are attractive but it makes the restaurant noisy. I had the pork chop (very delicious) and my husband had perfectly done fish, very good and the wine selection was too. Service was very slow. The servers were pleasant."

"It is a very nice restaurant if you are visiting the Mercury Theatre. Service was quite slow but once they knew we were there to go to the show, things picked up. It was quite loud and you are virtually sitting on top of each other. For tables of two, they line you up against the wall. My husband was not too thrilled to be looking at a brick wall all during our stay."

"We have eaten at Deleece (on and off...) for years, and always considered a solid neighborhood restaurant. We were told that they recently changed chefs, and while they still have a few of their old standby offerings, the menu seems to have changed to be more meat-intensive and less vegetarian friendly, which we were sorry to see. The food is good, and the service very good. The noise level makes conversations a bit challenging. They do have sidewalk tables in the summer."
