"Our pre dinner drinks came out during the second course. Lots of waiters but poor service. We were asked if we wanted additional bread which never came. Too bad... we expected a 5 star and got a 3 to 4 star experience at best. Poorly managed on Mother's Day this year despite lots of staff. Never again."

"With a lovely, quiet dining room and some of the best food I've had in San Francisco, this is definitely a place for that special treat dinner! Service was smooth, efficient, pleasant and professional. The prix fix four course menu has 3-4 choices in each category and was simply delectable! Sometimes in fine dining restaurants, the hors d'oeuvres and appetizers outshine the main courses for creativity and flavor. Not so here. My tai snapper with a tangle of crab and its sour apricot and lemon verbena overtones was exquisite. Plus the wonderful selection of amuses to start. Portions are small so that you can fully appreciate each course even up to the dessert. This was a memorable meal in so many ways and I look forward to returning."

"For a great place to eat with an interesting wine list and fabulous service, try Quince. You will spend a bunch and won't eat a lot but you'll leave happy. It's what I would say is an experience restaurant. You have to do it and say you've been there - just know where the local pizza place so you can sate your appetite."

Suckling pig entree is 2 very thin silver dollar-sized chops. This is not comparable to any other fine dining restaurant we have been to. "An absolutely divine meal from start to finish. Everything about the food was incredible. The ambiance was just a touch uptight for San Francisco, but that's apparently the energy they are going for. It wasn't distracting or detrimental, just noticeable. Service was very attentive and perfectly choreographed. Our primary server, for lack of a better title was just a bit awkward, seemed a little uncomfortable engaging with us on a level outside of the server rhetoric he had been "programmed" with. Very knowledgeable and kind but a little robotic."

"Dining at Quince was a very positive experience overall. There is some street parking available, and the offer valet parking. The resturant decor and ambience are pleasing. Service there was excellent in every way. My wife and I opted for the 4-course tasting menu. They also have a 9-(I believe)course tasting menu. The prices were reasonable. Though both tasting menus weren't chock full of items high on my personal list of favortes, the menu was creative, and the food was expertly prepared and presented. The suckling pig was outstanding! We did not opt for the wine pairing, but that is offered on both menus. If planning on being in the area, and looking for somewhere to dine, I would not hesitate to return. I'll try the larger tasting menu"

"exceptional food for a not-so-outlandish price (although the website indicates that they will be increasing to 6 and 9 courses for $118 and up). But for $95, the service was impeccable. The courses were ample and delicious. Garganelle pasta with duck was rich and unctuous. The Gnocchi ricotta on black truffle reduction was tasty. The suckling pig, cote de boeuf and John Dory main courses were all beautifully presented and delicious. Even their homemade cocktails were fun and flavorful."

"It is obvious that the chef took great care with every bite of food. We appreciated the little "treats" that came throughout the meal in addition to the ordered fare. The service was exceptional and well organized - definitely worth the price and then some.
Hats off to the entire staff for a thoroughly wonderful experience - we felt pampered and full by the end of dinner."

"Beautiful 4 course meal! We were celebrating our anniversary and the hostess and every waiter wished us happy anniversary. They even had personalized menus wishing us happy anniversary. Service was incredible. Food was to die for. My husband is an extremely talented fine-dining chef. We were both blown away by the creativity and quality of the food. It's pricy but worth it for a special evening! Our bill was $500 for 2 four course meals with $90 in extra charges for the lobster, crab risotto and duck. We each had 2 glasses of nice wine."

"My husband took me and two friends to Quince to celebrate my 50th birthday. He ordered the Tasting Menu for all of us. The Oestra caviar was decadent. I really LOVED the Anolotti di Ricotta since I am a big fan of black truffle. The lime flavor in the risotto was outstanding. I loved the batter on the sweetbreads. The texture and flavors were heavenly. The melt-in-my-mouth lamb was succulent! Don't miss the fabulous offering of cheese. Since we had four people, we tasted every cheese on the menu. I can't believe I still had room for the pistachio dessert. Save room for the Mignardise. This experience reminded me of Masas 25 years ago. Definitely a culinary highlight."

"It was all I had heard. The food was outstanding, the service a tad spotty with an odd pacing. The couple next to us who arrived later were served steamy sourdough rolls with their starters and ours arrived between courses after I asked. Plan to spend a long, leisurely couple of hours dining and then some. Must say, best cosmo ever had, lemonade flavoring and baby pink in shade. Actually, believe it was the perfect cosmo and we indulged in the perfect dessert, composed by the pastry chef for a birthday and he came out to say hello when my dining companion asked to thank him. Very nice. Recommend the John Dory entree and pistachio dessert. Nouvelle portions make it even more appealing since the splurges fill you up and not out."

"As I always sit in the dining room and order chef's tasting menu, I sat for a change at the bar first and then at the lounge to order the lighter lounge menu (Japanese sashimi style) and three orders from the dining menu.
The service though not very crowded was fair at best, ignoring patrons in the lounge and as if they were serving us at the mercy of the dining hall patrons.
Wines by glass choices also are fair, compared to even a lesser (in terms of price) but well established counterparts."

"Service was exceptional- attention to detail outstanding, and the food courses were innovative, provacative and challenging your senses. Overall very good but some of the courses over-thought. Brought my 7 year old daughter who is adaptable to high-end restaurants. They accomodated her with a simple pasta dish but she also ordered the cote de boeuf which she loved. My wife loved the main lobster starter, and also the cote de boeuf. Great Wine list, we had a beautiful bottle of chardonnay picked out nicely by the wine expert. It was my wife's 50th birthday, and the personal birthday greeting ON the menu was a very nice touch, along with a copy for her as a memento to take home. Very nice evening."

"Awesome dining experience. Both the food and service were phenomenal. From the complimentary amuse–bouche (mini clam chowder in a pastry, caesar salad crisps, and buffalo wing bite), through the amazing tasting menu (indulgent caviar, delicious scallop & gnocchi, best sweetbread I've ever tasted) and finally ending with decadent sweets and a digestif (Amoro Montenegro).
