"After hearing sooo much about it and making a special trip (20 miles +) to eat here, I wasn't very impressed. Service was not great and I found the three entrees we ordered to be just average (grilled artichoke, chopped salald with tuna and oriental salad with tuna) Artichoke was bland and very chewy (J Alexanders has the best one) and chopped salad had veggies in it that were not listed on the menu so I had to pick it apart since the servers weren't terrribly cooperative about locating mine. Guess mu expectations were too high or maybe I ordered the wrong entree."

"We were looking for a fun place with amazing food and booked this based on some of the rave reviews on open table. It is set back on the ground floor of a corporate office building setting. They have valet parking and a nice outdoor area with a fire pit which was cool. Definitely a fun scene with lots of big groups. The food was perfectly fine but nothing memorable or particularly interesting or inventive. Go for the scene, not the food."

"Went in for dinner and wow what a restaurant. We were amazed from the second we walked inside. The hostesses jumped out at us to say welcome to Yolo and were so friendly. It didnt stop there we had a server Susan that was so friendly and helpful with the menu. We would go back just for her. The food and drinks were outstanding. We will be back for sure. "I don't get up to Fort Lauderdale much but I am glad I did this time.I pulled up to YOLO and after being greeted by the valet my wife and I walked up to the restaurant and admired the warm glow of the fire pit and the tall bamboo that lined the patio.A friendly smile from the hostess welcomed us and we were brought to a nice booth.Our server greeted us and she offered us a drink and recommended a few appetizers. We opted for the calamari and came out in a few minutes. It was a fried calamari tossed in a sweet chili sauce. We both enjoyed it very much. I ordered the Manhattan steak with mushrooms and onions and my wife had the crab cakes. Both were excellent. I would recommend Yolo to anyone who wants an exciting happening evening out."

"I reserved a table for 3 and arrived first with one other guest. I was told I could not be seated until all 3 were ready to be seated even though I asked to be seated. I said to the hostest that if I could not be seated that I would never come to the restaurant again. It made no difference to her. I have eaten at YOLO many times and have enjoyed it but the new policy of refusing to seat guests until the entire party is present will cause me to never again go to YOLO. There are too many other choices."

"I went to YOLO on a busy Saturday night. Our waitress was very nice. The food, however, was not up to par from past experiences. Most notably were ribs served room temperature and a chocolate ooze cake that didn't ooze due to insufficient heating. A calamari appetizer also arrived at room temperature. Not acceptable! You really don't go to YOLO for gourmet food, you go for the ambiance and vibrant pick-up scene. In this department they were on the mark!

"Wonderful service once we were seated. The staff at the front did not have a good attitude when we asked not to be seated in the bar. They may have been overwhelmed, but it is their job to remain warm and friendly to customers. An attitude doesn't cut it. However Caitlyn, our server; was lovely, efficient, accommodating, energetic, and very sweet. She enhanced our very nice evening."

"Had a very nice lunch outdoors on a beautiful day. Wife had a BBQ Chicken salad which she enjoyed. I had the Prime Rib sandwich which was excellent. Very attentive service. Really nice place and location for lunch."

"YOLO provides consistently good service and food. Reception is a little lack lustre but perhaps with experience she will learn how to greet paying clients appropriately. That said, YOLO is a must visit restaurant in Fort Lauderdale"

"The place to be! We sat on the patio. The whole restaurant was busy and vibrant. Crab cakes were amazing, almost all crabmeat! The best part was the service. Sit with Edward! His professionalism along with his quick wit and charm made the experience truly unforgettable. Not to mention him being really really ridiculously good looking! Can't wait to go back"

"Consistently good food and well located for a downtown lunch meeting. Quick valet at the door makes it simple when on a schedule. Daily specials add variety for regulars including fresh soups and catches. Trout is great and salads plentiful. It's definitely a place to see and be seen! Ideal space for a mid size private group. "You can't go wrong with YOLO. The food is fresh and changes up each week. Honorable mentions are the daily soups, the mojo pork sandwich, the garden burger, the fish tacos, the chopped salad. Other than the veggie stir fry, I haven't had anything that I did not like. The ambience and service is excellent - it's a vibrant scene during lunch, dinner and happy hour. They have an outdoor firepit for those chilly FL nights and they even have a "s'mores" night when they give you the fixins to make them by the fire! I highly recommend YOLO for consistently great dining experiences."

"Quick lunch was needed. Valet parking and I was seated within minutes. Soup special and roasted chicken with beans and escarole in broth was terrific. With a glass of wine I was in and out in 40 minutes and on my way. Service friendly and snappy. Recommend"

Had a great time on a Thuraday night. Came for dinner at 6:45, service was prompt, but the inviting atmosphere and music caused us to stay until almost midnight, moving over to the outdoor bar area.

"We had a group of 6 after work. Our reservation was at 6:30, early for dinner. From the moment we arrived we were rushed by our server, even though there were plenty of open tables around us. We had drinks, appetizers and dinner. As we were finishing our drinks after dinner and talking, the manager came over and said he would have to relocate us to another part of the restaurant since they had a large party coming into this area. They had clearly overbooked ...there was no where else to relocate us except a bar/dance area that was loud and unacceptable for conversation. The food was decent (not great) but this is not a good choice for a business meal."

"This was my third time at Yolo and it was most disappointing. Don't ever let the seat you in the small room on the side. The noise from the bar makes it impossible to have a conversation. The restaurant was busy and that may have impacted the service. Waiting 20 minutes for a drink is too long. The food was just okay. Don't order the burger-not worth it- over cooked and no flavor. I will definitely not be back for a while. Seems like the restaurant is just an excuse for the bar."

"I've been for brunch before and it was really good -- both food and service. Went for dinner 2 nights ago, and it was definitely less impressive. The food was mixed -- some items were good (meatball sliders), others were just ok (I'm not even sure my Filet was an actual Filet vs a cheaper cut of steak). The tuna appetizer was a total ripoff with just 4 little scraps of tuna-- avoid that one. The service was not that great. The setting is pretty cool though -- we sat outside. I will go back for brunch, but with all the other choices on Las Olas, I most likely won't return for dinner."
