The Lobster Shop restaurants have been operating since 1977. Offering some of the Pacific Northwest’s favorite seafood dishes.
The restaurant sits over the waters of Commencement Bay, offering breathtaking views of both Mount Rainier and the Olympic Mountain Range.
During the summer months the restaurant offers outdoor dining and with a dock available for boaters, makes for an excellent day getaway.
The Lobster Shop has always been the place where the South Sound loves to celebrate; whether a birthday, anniversary or promotion you just can't beat the atmosphere.
Annually rated by the well known Zagat Survey, the Lobster Shop takes a great deal of pride in making sure that every experience is a memorable one. We look forward to serving you soon.

"Nice to see that the stipulation I put on the e-reservation for a table by the window was adhered to...much appreciated. Waitress Morgan was excellent with friendly disposition, timing and tips for food. Clam chowder was just the right amount of spice but could have used even more clams. The strawberry salad was excellent with a captivating dressing. We both had the Seafood Trio and were impressed by everything but the bland salmon. The champaigne sauce was yummy. Loved our desserts of creme brulee and flourless chocolate cake."

"Wonderful food. A varied and always delicious menu that focuses on seafood but includes many other dishes as well. This has long been a favorite place for us and it did not fail to please. Great for dinner as well as lunch. The deck is a wonderful place for cocktails or dinner when the weather is warm."

"The food at the lobster Shop is always very good to excellent. The staff is very professional and accommodating. At 7:30 on Mother's Day they were out of jumbo prawns. A bit pricey. In any weather the view is a treat!! A wonderful place to bring out of town guests for lunch or dinner."

"We recently moved to Lacey from Seattle and have many friends still in Seattle. We are retired and this is about half way between the 2 cities. Great place to meet up and each does not have to drive as far. It was a lovely lunch, everyone was quite pleased with their lunch choice. Will come again.

"We were seated right away at the window seat I requested. The food was great with the exception of one dessert, which was taken off the bill and the salads were just okay. The restaurant seemed to have just finished a rush, so they were out of bread for a quite a while. The waiter seemed to be managing multiple priorities and a bit distracted. The entree was hot and delicious."

"As always the food at the Lobster Shop South was outstanding. BUT, our server failed to give us the service we've come to expect at the Lobster Shop. We ordered an appetizer, he forgot to bring it. Instead he brought us our salads. We told him to forget about the appetizer. After the main course we ordered two desserts. Our waiter brought one, and I had to remind him to bring out the other when he showed up about seven minutes after bringing out the first dessert."

"The food was divine. The vinegar and oil had fresh mint in it and was lovely and refreshing. Our server was outstanding. Made good suggestions about the wine and especially the dessert. Next time I would choose the lemon cake with fresh blueberries. The view is always a joy, the flour less chocolate cake was good, but like fudge, too many calories! Loved, loved the salad with pecans and the entree mixed seafood with noodles and a green curry sauce was wonderful. We will go again soon, can't beat the food, view and price!!"

"It was amazing. Great food. Never a disappointment. My mother said the crab cakes were all crab and hardly any filler. The calamari was tender and the mussles were great. The twilight meals are healthy portions and a great value. Can't wait to go when the weather warms up to sit out on the deck. We went there to celebrate my father's birthday (which was that day), but he had passed 10 days before...so it was a great memory and a place that he enjoyed when ever he went."

"My husband and I both love the Lobster Shop. Friends are always impressed when I take them there. I was enjoying a lunch with a friend when last there and it was the perfect environment for a long relaxing lunch built for catching up. I was able to use Open Table for making our reservation and when I arrived my reservation was everything I expected. I had requested a booth by the window, for the water view, and that's exactly what I received. We had multiple courses of fabulous food and the tab was still respectable. Chowder was great as always, and my mixed Seafood Louie was so yummy and fresh! My friend had the seafood melt and really enjoyed it. Thanks Lobster Shop for another great dining experience!"

"I received a call wanting to know if we wanted to keep our reservation for 5 for brunch. Upon letting the lady know that it was a yes she said 2 hr limit per group of 5 then proceeded with a lecture on 2 hrs was ample time for 5 people to eat. Because of 4 other people involved in this reservation I decided to let it go and hopefully with the meal and company it would be great. The company was great but as for the meal, they were always out of food and it took quite a while before anything was replaced. Most hot foods were cold, the turkey was very salty, but our view was great as we sat out on the deck. It took little over an hour with visiting and eating. If you go here, go for the view and maybe a drink. Don't waste your money on eats."

"We have come to the Lobster Shop Mother's Day brunch for years- we have had the best food, service and ambiance there than that of any other brunch we have been to (and we enjoy our brunches!)It has been the standard to which we hold all brunches!
On this, our 25th anniversary, we found another wonderful aspect of the Lobster Shop South--an amazing meal with friends that surpassed expectations. The view is magnificent, the decor is comfortable and stylish, and the staff are friendly and helpful. All that, and the food was wonderful, too. Two of us had lobster and it was perfectly prepared!"
