Located in the Wissahickon Valley, the inviting atmosphere of Philadelphia's last remaining roadhouse is one of the city's best kept secrets. The Valley Green Inn is just waiting to be found in the bustling metropolis of America's Birthplace.
"Having lunch at The Valley Green Inn is always on my "must do" list when I have out of town guests. The food is consistently good; I always get the Salmon Club and sweet potato chips because they are so good. The staff is always friendly. The setting along Wissahickon Creek is special and beautiful in all seasons."

"I took my friend to Valley Green Inn on a beautiful Spring afternoon, knowing that they too would love the ambiance of this historical inn. They did. The luncheon menu surpassed my expectations so we all dined in complete bliss! Our waitress had a funny, quirky personify that topped off the experience. Of course, if the weather had cooperated and if it had been 10-15 degrees warmer - we could have dined on the porch. We' ll just have to come back in June or July! :-)"

"we had sunday brunch-definitely glad we made a reservation, it fills up quick. but we were still given the choice to sit inside or outside. food was great-fresh fruit, eggs benedict, pecan waffles. waiter was very attentive with coffee refills and very pleasant as was the rest of the staff. would definitely love to go back for dinner. walked off brunch along the wissahickon afterwards. great day all around."

"We had an enjoyable dinner. The food and service was very good and timely. It was an unusually hot night for April and we sat inside. It was hot and stuffy. We should have sat outside, but for the occasion, we felt it was a bit on the casual side outdoors (we have had lunch outdoor before, but the chairs are not as comfy as indoors). One of our servers forgot to bring back our doggie bag too, but otherwise it was a great meal. This is a cool little gem with a great location.
It was my girlfriend's B-day and they brought her a small dessert, which was nice."

"Food was outstanding and service was everything you expect, view was incredible, interior was small but had a great rustic American look. The porch was easily accessible and the creek in which it is situated across from is beautiful."

"Excellent restaurant in a fun, quirky, beautiful location. Entrees- scallops with lentils and duck were wonderful. Chocolate pistachio pate, a perfect end to our dinner. The restaurant is nestled by a creek in a park and quite old. Service was very professional. Our reservation was at 7:00. We were the last to leave the restaurant at 9:30. A nice change from the usual high-end but over-designed restaurants."

"Enjoyed being at the Valley Green- I take my girlfriend there every year for her birthday. I did not like my lunch at all- could not eat it. I was not going to make a fuss about it. The waitress kindly expressed concern- I told her not to worry about it. She ended up,though, not charging me which I thought was very kind.I would still return."

"We had a great experience at Valley Green. The only reccomendation I have would be to request a table far away from the front door. It was a chilly morning and we were sat fairly close to the door so we felt a chilly draft everytime the door was opened. However overall a delicious meal!"

"We went for dinner so the immediate area was deserted and so very quiet. As for dishes, the meat (actually fowl) dishes were exquisite. My vegetable side was very good, but a separate order of risotto and veges was underspiced and a bit tasteless. Service was very friendly and the ambiance wonderful. I'll take my parents there when they next come for a visit."

"This is one of my all-time favorite restaurants in Philadelphia. They seem to have a very fine chef now, which has not always been the case. I hope they will maintain the current standard of excellence. It is a fabulous setting especially if one wants to wow! out of town visitors who think Philadelphia is all guns and no roses."
