"We went to Amerigo's for Father's day dinner, it had been awhile since we had been since we don't go downtown a lot. The atmosphere was very nice, and it was quiet enough where you didn't have to raise your voice to be heard. The food was amazing. Reasonable prices, nice serving size, and the taste was excellent. Our server was great, checked on us often but not too much to be annoying and our glasses never went empty. Excellent food and service. Highly recommend!"

"Amerigo's should be our go-to spot because of its location and the variety of food that it offers. Instead, after our experience on Friday evening, it is our not-to-go-to restaurant. After being seated promptly, we were left waiting for nearly 20 minutes. The salads came dressed after we had asked for the dressing on the side. My husband's "farm fresh" dish was completely inedible and the three others were very poor. His potatoes tasted as if they had been refried three times. The red cabbage side was over salted. My sea bass was over cooked. Once one pays over $25 per entree, one expects some level of professionalism in the kitchen. This was completely missing. We wish we could count on Amerigo's, but now we can only count it OUT."

"The food was delicious. The service excellent. Our waitress suggested the butternut squash soup which was excellent. My husband ordered the chicken tuscany. I ordered the shrimp scampi and my daughter ordered the 5 cheese lasagna. All were declared delicious. We enjoyed our meal very much."

"The atmosphere was good, food and service were great. Third time I've tried the fish of the day (Chilean Sea Bass this time) and I'be yet to be dissatisfied. My wife had the Veal Piccatta, and it was excellent. The only negative, small tables. Overall a good dining experience!"

"The Pancetta and shrimp pasta was good, but we would have preferred one seasoning on the shrimp. It felt like it was added to the dish. The Pasta Bolognese was a little too creamy, but very tasty. Overall, it's a good restaurant."

"Not impressed...we were seated quickly, which was nice---it took a good 7-8 minutes for a server to get there. We ordered a beverages which were delivered separately? It was a busy day, so I understood that the server was kind of crazy---but we did feel like an after thought. We ordered the fish of the day and the omelet of the day---the fish was bland and the omelet was about the same. Best part of the meal was the greens served with the fish and the jalapeno corncake with the omelet. Most interesting part was when we left---2 managers were at the door and they didn't even thank us for coming? Lots of other choices in town---would think twice before returning."

"Parents on Mothers day.They are big on going OUT to eat, believing few places are of high quality.We assured them that Amerigo was somewhere we would be confident. We ordered drinks from the, appetizers,salads&entrees.My father saw what was presented to our table & only drank his beer because it appeared unappetizing.We thought this was obstanence , but soon saw he was wise not to order.Drinks were slow to come & incorrect.The server was obviously fatigued (understandably since I was a server before).The calamari was poorly cooked and the breading was falling off, appearing to be undercooked.The salads were saturated with dressing, and the entrees bland.Who makes spaghetti and meatballs so bland?Then there was the constant gnat problem."

"My wife and I were very impressed by this restaurant. The food was incredible (and we tried a few different dishes), and the service was excellent. They also had really good drink specials, so the price came out quite reasonable.

"This was our second visit to Amerigo - West End. I, again started with the Insalata Nona and my wife had the Goat Cheese and Walnut Salad -- both of which were quite good. For an entre I had the Chicken Acuto off the Early Bird menu -- same as on the regular menu but smaller portion size -- one chicken breast instead of two -- it was OK but the chicken was a bit dry. My wife had the Flame Grilled Salmon Filet which she said was good but nothing special. All things considered, there was nothing to make us return a third time. Amerigo is an OK restaurant but there are lots of those in the area."

"In TN for a couple of days with family, kids 17 and 20. I googled restaurants with gluten free options and Amerigo was one on the list. Looking at their online menu, the family decided to try. This is one of the best restaurants I have ever visited and would highly recommend to all. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding, The food was the best we had all tasted. The choices for a gluten free diet were better than any place I have eaten. Don't pass up the opportunity to experience Amerigo! Big portions!! The leftovers tasted just as good the next day!! And the gluten free peanut butter blondie was enjoyed by all!"

"Honestly, it's sometimes hard for me to find Italian food that really stands out from other Italian food - a lot of pastas and pizzas have little variance for me. With that being said, all three dishes we ordered at Amerigos were delicious, with fresh ingredients, decently-sized portions, and very reasonable prices. I'll definitely be going again!"

"This was our second time at Amerigo. The first time we waited over 45 minutes for a table on a less-than-busy night because they forgot us at the reception desk. Ahh well, a few glasses of Merlot at the bar helped ease that complaint. We decided to give them a second chance because the food was so delicious. Round two was for our anniversary, and much, much better than our first trip. Service was attentive without being pushy, and our food and wine were amazing. You'll enjoy it. "Service limited as was seated next to large group with same waiter. He was late to work which set the pace. Small gnat flew around our table throughout the meal. Food was fine but nothing special, sauces heavy. House chianti was excellent."

"Amerigo's West End provides a good neighborhood dining experience--not gem quality, but good decent food. The only drawback to this restaurant is that EVERYTHING is sweet--there is nothing to counterbalance it--acid, savory or bitter. The vinagrettes had not a hint of acid;the walnuts were glazed; even the bread was sweet! Good chicken piccata DOES NOT need crabmeat(more calories and sweetness)! Nor does a lovely piece of salmon need to be carmelized! However, the mussels were well prepared, and so was the shrimp scampi. Amerigo's is an Italian restaurant--adjusting its menu from sweet to the lovely, subtle, savory flavors that Italian cuisine is known for would turn this restaurant into a gem."

"We visited to celebrate a wedding aniversary, there were several large parties already seated and it was very loud. The wait staff was excellent, but my wife and I were dissapointed with our selection. My wife even made the comment about how bland our pasta dishes were and that we both felt Olive Garden had better tasting food."

"Amerigo's is our place to go when we attend the theatre in Nashville.s Superior food and pricing. Service was a little under the usual outstanding this trip and we were put by 3 tables with a large group of youung folks who were having a post ball game outing.

Overall though the food quality and atmosphere is excellent and this visit's noise and service were probably just outliers as it has not been the norm."

"Grew up in Nashville but never eaten there. I've lived in Birmingham for thrash 39 years, but pass by Amerigo's many times when I come up here to visit. Actually had a girls' weekend here last weekend, so I made reservations there. All of us LOVED it!!! Will definitely come again and will certainly recommend."
