For corporate lunches, first dates or any other occasion, our guests cannot help but feel transported to the breath-taking Costa del Sol.
"I don't know why I did not try this place before. The food is really good! The night we went the wait staff was really inattentive and absent for the most part. Other than that, I would go back again for the food."

"Staff was very accommodating regarding our change of plan- the appointment was shorter than expected, so instead of getting there at 6:30 we were there an hour earlier.
Waiter was very nice, but he could have suggested things to us or given us an idea of how to order (meaning suggesting a number of dishes for our party of 6-7,etc.). We had two pitchers of the (very good) sangria among us and it was about a glass and a half per person, and 5-6 dishes were more than enough. We had calamari, mushroom risotto, beet salad, salmon with olive tapenade, and two of the shrimp, with the house ice cream with figs and port for dessert. Delicious and worth a revisit!"

"Husband and I went to Bodega on Saturday night. We had a late reservation and were seated promptly. We had a terrific bierzo with our tapas options. By far, the best tapas of the night (and maybe that I've ever had) was the Gambas al Ajillo, Shrimp Sautéed In Garlic, Piri-Piri Pepper & Olive Oil. Other notables were the Serrano tomato bread and mushroom rice. The salmon and chicken options were okay.
Overall, we had a great time and would happily return for the wine and a few shrimp tapas."

"I've been going to Bodega ever since it first opened its doors in 2008 and it's in a fantastic location and the interior is pretty cool. I do have to say that the quality of the food has gone done quite a bit over the past 6-8 months, so perhaps the chefs need a refresher course. With other Spanish restaurants improving/opening, like Jaleo DC, Boqueria and Estadio, they are going to have to step up the game in order to stay competitive."

"We had a table that gave a nice view of M St. Overall, the food was good. We liked the paella, but it was somewhat salty. Prices are definitely on the more expensive side, so be willing to fork out some cash for a solid meal. Waiter was nice, but not the most friendly."

"5 of us took an 8 pm reservation and sat outside; great little wind-protected outdoor patio between the buildings. Awesome menu; ordered over a dozen items through the night and not a one was ordinary. Cannot miss with this restaurant from bacon wrapped dates to paella."

"A pleaant surprise to find a real Spanish restaurant in Georgetown, excellent paellas and a wide range of genuine tapas. We are regular visitors to Spain from the UK and really enjoyed our meal and the experience. We will definitely return either for a meal or to drop in for a drink and tapas in the early evening, just like real Spain."

"This place was a disappointment for me. The food was mediocre at best and our server seemed to know very little about the menu as he could make no recommendations about the tapas other than "the daily special" (which they had run out of when we tried to order it at 7:30pm). We arrived 10 minutes early for our 7pm reservation. The place was mostly empty at that time, we were not asked about seating preferences, and were promptly led to the small back room. Our first drink order was painfully slow to arrive and my second glass of wine took 20 minutes to show up after we tracked down the server via the busboy to order it. This was a business dinner with my boss, I chose the restaurant and it was not an impressive choice."

"Went for the lunch box, prix fixe, menu: a good value on paper, but the food was very poor. Maybe the chef should dine at Jaleo to have an idea of the standards for good or, at least, acceptable tapas. I'm not planning to come back."

"Bodega serves up decent Spanish tapas in a location that is right in the middle of Georgetown, and manages to do so at a reasonable price. A nice place to drop in to for some garlic shrimp (gambas al ajillo), or a slice of Spanish tortilla (omelette with potatoes)."

"I visited Madrid in 2011 and Bodega's food, decor, and serving dishes are authentic. However, the service is just ok - especially when it's busy. The sangria leaves a lot to be desired. But, I would still recommend this restaurant."

"While the ambience and food was good, it was incrediby loud in the restaurant. We had a hard time talking to one another and often has to resort to shouting across the table. The red sangria was mediocre (the white sangria was completely undrinkable) and the margaritas were quite odd. However, I highly recommend the shrimp with garlic -- absolutely delicious."

"While the food was good at Bodega the service was terrible. We made a reservation for 5 people well in advance however when the hostess brought us to our table there was only room for 4 people. We politely reminded her that our reservation was for 5 people and she rudely responded with "Can't you just squeeze into the booth?" After the hostess left us, still without enough space at our table, our waiter came up and told us again "to just squeeze into the booth". We expressed again that we could not fit all 5 people into a tiny four person table and were met with cold stares. We were able to grab a chair from an empty table however the rest of the night our waiter was incredibly rude."

"I was waiting on my friend for a while (georgetown traffic) and the service was great. My waitress was very attentive to me even though the rest of my party wasnt there. The tapas came out very fast after we ordered and the cava sangria was very good.

"A wonderful evening! My husband and I really loved our experience at Bodega. Our waiter recommended a great wine that was moderately priced. The portions were generous for 2 people to share. All the food was tasty and well seasoned but the standouts were the beef short ribs in piquillo peppers, the monkfish with the chickpea puree, and the grilled cuttlefish. For a veggie we had the sauteed spinach with pine nuts that was perfectly cooked. Our daughter had the chicken croquettes and there are other good choices for the kids. Thankfully the music wasn't too loud and the atmosphere was lively."

"Interesting and decent tapas menu - plenty of choices and nice ambience. Service was a little erratic and confusing. And we were there early so not a full restaurant. Food was good, fresh and presented well. Only price complaint was $26 for a relatively small pitcher of Sangria. Definitely would recommend Bodega if you are looking for a smal plates pre-theater kind of place that is kinda less than the ordinary."

"Excellent tapas! The "bistec a la plancha" was tasty, tender and cooked to perfection. The shrimp "al ajillo" and the dates with bacon were all prepared deliciosly. We also had the "jamón serrano" and cheese tabla which were expensive but great."

"This is my go-to date place. The ambience is incredible, dim lights, candles, fake fireplaces. Soft yet upbeat Spanish/Latin inspired music. The food is really something special (though pricey). I've never had a bad dish at Bodega and the waiters are very friendly with suggestions as well. The sangria is delicious too, though the glass is small but that's okay. Overall it's a great place for a date if its in your price range (25-35 per person). Definitely my favorite romantic spot in Georgetown."

"We had the corner window table which helped limit the noise. Very close tables and vibrant bar. Food was excellent and 5 of us shared 9-10 plates and had more than enough. Duck dish was 1leg. So difficult to share. Best dishes were mushrooms and garlic shrimp. Would go there again if in mood for tapas, but so many great restaurants in DC .,would probably try other restaurants."

"We went there for Valentine's day and loved everything about it! The food was great and plenty, the ambiance was very traditional Spanish and made us feel very comfortable and relaxed. Even the process wasn't so bad, considering that tapas usually run on the higher side. We will definitely be back!"

"My wife and I were pleasantly impressed with the good food, we had come before and noticed consistency in this area. The bar denied a drink at the happy hour rate because the order was only one minute before close time, regardless of the fact that we were made to wait 10 minutes for our reserved table, we thought this was not a welcoming attitude. The waiters and servers were continuously running in a big hurry through the narrow passageways, portraying an environment of general anxiety which did not positively add to the ambiance."

"The food was not as good as expected. I have been to this restaurant a couple of times before and was surprised to get an unseasoned spinach salad, an overcooked way too small lamb chop. I got more bone parts than actual meat. It was a professional dinner so I did not want to point out all the flaws but I was seriously disappointed and the service itself was ok except that we waited way too long before we could order."

"Really enjoyed dining at Bodega, a group of friends met for Restaurant Week. We were a little disappointed in the dinner menu for Restaurant Week not having more of a open selection of Tapas. The food was tasty, service was okay, a few items were forgotten and then billed for twice. The decor was interesting, and fun to go to."
