Nombe (pronounced “nom – bay”) refers to someone who likes to drink heartily. We are bringing Japan’s most popular eating and drinking establishments, IZAKAYA, to the heart of Mission.

We offer Northern California’s seasonal, sustainable, and locally sourced tapas food along with over 75 brands of premium sake, organic Shochu cocktails, as well as eight Japanese and local beers on tap.

We open Street Food window after 11:00pm on the weekends to satisfy the hungry soul of the hip Mission crowd.

"Went to Nombe with some pretty high expectations and none of them were met. Service was very poor; I had to wait 30 minutes before the waiter remembered to bring our drinks (and the restaurant wasn't even busy). The food was was under average. I'd rather go to a Subway than go back to Nombe again."

"Fantastic and interesting menu. Being mostly veg and peseta rains we declined the waitresses entreaties to try the beef tounge small plate until we'd all had enough to drink to lose our inhibitions and then to our surprise we all loved it. This place is Japanese but it is definitely not sushi. Everything we had was terrific, the wait staff was very friendly and we had a great time."

"For all you food lovers out there, I would recommend this place for their 7-course dine about town menu or their fresh selection of sashimi. They're not a sushi restaurant, per se, but they do serve their fresh fish of the day. The Uni pate for the first course with the pairing of same was pretty amazing. Get there fast for the great price!"

"A coworker suggested this place and says she loves it, we might have just ordered the wrong dishes. The brussel sprouts were the best thing! The cod was no longer on the menu, so we couldn't try that. The sashimi was very fresh, the sampler was $25 and added uni for additional $5. The uni portion was very small as were the Petite Ramen $9 each. The spicy one came in a thick greenish sauce, not soupy at all and not much flavor. We also got the tongue which my friend said wasn't very chewy, just tasted like meat. The rice ball, was literally a ball of rice and the bacon wrapped mochi was quite a mouthful. Overall, portions were small and prices were high. Plus they hover when they give you the bill on the ipad."
