"We frequent EBSW and the food is always good and so is the service. For whatever reason we went there for dinner last week and the service was awful. We ordered drinks and apps which took at least 20 minutes to arrive to table and then we ordered entrees and rolls and after 40 minutes the waitress came back to the table, after not seeing her the entire time, and had to retake our order. Bummer!"

"We love East by Southwest and eat there every time we are in Durango. Have never had a bad meal or bad service. It is a busy and high energy restaurant. Even if you don't like sushi, you will find something you like and have a good time"

"Top-notch sushi. Hard to believe located in land-locked Colorado but I have yet to find better sushi on either coast and some abroad locations. The restaurant is so popular for dinner on and around the weekend that service really suffers as every table is full all night regardless. Wait is typically only 30-45 min or so around dinner and lunch is fairly slow with lots of open tables. Price is not cheap but also not outrageous based on food quality. Besides the lack of quality service when busy you will not be disappointed."

"EXSW was a little "off" this visit which is VERY unusual. I guess even the culinary top-guns can have a bad night too. EZSW is always excellent for both lunch and dinner and this review should certainly not dissuade anyone from dining there. Like I said, just an "off" night. Specifically, the kitchen's coordination of serving our dinner order was out of sync and our waitress wasn't exactly on top of her game. Nothing all that offensive, just not up to EXSW's usual high standards. The food; however, was very good! We'll be back soon."

"The food is always good, which is the reason why we choose this restaurant. The Service is hit or miss. We were told by the waitress to let her know when we were ready to order, it was really hard to get her attention after that. Once our food was ordered it came quickly. Again, hard to get our waitress' attention after that and she never came back to see if we would like more drinks, dessert or anything else."

"We live in Denver and frequent Durango, CO. We go to East by Southwest at least once every trip. The food is not only fresh and fabulous it's a work of art. I believe you eat with your eyes first. I have never eaten one thing that wasn't over-the-top exquisite. The specials are creative and cool! There's more to eat here than sushi. Eat here if you love food."

"The food here is fantastic - very creative and both visually stunning and nice combination / balance of flavors. The ambiance is nice ... quite a "happening" place, but can get noisy and crowded. Tables are close together, and the one where we were seated was in the cold draft from the doorway."
