In addition to serving fresh fish that is flown in from Japan's Tsukiji Fish Market, this 5-star restaurant boasts Atlanta's first and only high-quality Japanese Robata grills where the chefs use Binchotan, specially oak wood charcoal, that is also imported directly from Japan to seal in the flavor of seafood and gourmet meats such as Kobe beef, duck, quail and chicken, along with a variety of Japanese seafood and vegetables. As entrees cook over a high-flame, low-smoke grill, the chefs use traditional washi paper fans to gently control the temperature. Everything is served al la carte, to encourage sharing.

"I was extremely disappointed. The service was terrible and when we tried to order a couple of their special dishes (toro), they were out. They brought out each ordered roll individually with 15 minutes between rolls. It took us 3 1/2 hours to eat Sushi and I left starving. Add on it was extremely overpriced. I would go to Bluefin or Taka as they are just as good with a better price and service."

"The food was very good specially the Robota Sea Bass that was the must. Unfortunately our waitress was not that good, when I started to order my food three of the items that I wanted, their were out of it, when she was explaining the menu to us and what was the special she should say also the items that they were out. Also I asked for three glasses of champagne and she came with a full bottles. That the only which was under my expectation.

"The food was good, but not at all worth the wait and HORRIBLE service. We had a reservation for 6 people for 7pm, and were not seated til after 730. During the wait we could not even get the attention of the bartender. At the table we waited another 10 minutes for someone to come by, then an additional 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive. The waitress messed up our order in a major way and could not care less. It was expensive and the appetizer portions were tiny and delivered after our meal. The service was truly awful. In our group, we are all sushi lovers and 5 of us have lived in California, NY and Japan. NONE of us would return to MF because of the rediculously poor service."

"I enjoyed dining at MF Sushi Buckhead. This was my second time back. The first time I went to the bar. I found the restaurant to be very good. I enjoy sushi and this is one of the best places in the city for fresh well presented sushi and sashimi. I also enjoyed the miso soup. My only complaint is with regards to the temperature of the restaurant. It was a very cold night in March. My friend and I were seated towards the back of the restaurant and we kept feeling a draft. I will most certainly come back to the restaurant."

"Good food, but exceptionally expensive. 3 of us had dinner and we didn't eat or drink excessively, yet our bill was almost $400. 4 beers and 1 mix drink was the extent of our drinking."

"The food at MF SUSHI Midtown is by far better! I am a vegetarian and have never had a vegetable roll as good as the one I had at MF SUSHI Midtown. I was expecting the quality and taste to at least be up to par with Midtown but it was not. I got 2 vegetables, no cream cheese, and no tofu in the roll! Additionally, the dishes are more expensive and my roll arrived 10 minutes after the rest of my table. It is unexcusable that in a sophisticated restuarant such as MF Buckhead that the dinners do not arrive at the same time. It appeared as though they had forgotten my order. My advice is that is if you want excellent sushi/service head over to MF Midtown; however, if atmosphere is what you're looking for, MF Buckhead has a great vibe."

"Excellent sushi. Everything on the menu was wonderful, although pricey. The waitress was horrible, completely unable to multitask. Slow, inattentive, and generally incompetent.... and it's not like they were busy or anything. Despite that, it is definitely a "must" for any sushi lover. Certainly Atlanta's best high quality sushi."

"Other than a long wait at the bar, our experience was fabulous! We started with a Ketel One martini up with 1 olive (perfectly made) & Yamazaki 18 yr w/a splash of water (very smooth w/a hint of smokiness).

Chef David TOOK care of us! Very fresh sashimi. Monk fish liver was delectable. Toro was deliciously sweet! Grilled duck was amazing! Live sea scallops were just exquisite! Uni was not available on Tue, but we will be back for it.

Chef Ito's sake recommendations perfectly matched our meal, but I can't recall what we ordered. =)

MF Buckhead is a definite top 5 for Atlanta's sushi/sashimi lovers!"

"It's not so bad when they are out of certain fish since you want it to be fresh. What's bad is when the waiter does not KNOW which sushi they are out of and you keep trying to order things only for him to come back 10 minutes later each time you order and tell you "we're out of that tonight, too." They make it worse by sending over two shots of sake (to make-up) which we don't care for. Plus they were out of the beer my husband wanted which also wouldn't be so bad if it weren't the most popular beer from Japan and they should keep it stocked on a Saturday night. And our eggplant was not ripe and tasted BLAND. Finally,the waiter mentioned that JC Chavez was there...who cares??? I will stick to Taka and MF in midtown"
