"Sierra Mar is one of the most spectacular restaurants you will find. The view at sunset is out of this world and architecturally even the walk up from the hotel is enchanting. Although the food is not cheap, the quality of ingredients and presentation is highly thought out. The service was fantastic, everyone from our main waiter to the bread waiter were extremely hospitable, friendly and helpful. The wine list is excellent particularly if opt to do the wine pairings. Words fail to capture this place and in the heart of the beautiful Big Sur this is the perfect up market choice. I just wish it was closer to my home!"

"Reservations are highly recommended!!
This is one restaurant where you can't really go wrong with any dishes (two thumbs up for Executive Chef John Cox). Chef John Cox was nice enough to take a picture with me upon request. Every dish I tasted was delicious and I found the prices to be quite reasonable. Lunch Prix Fixe is $40 and Dinner Prix Fixe is $110.
The view is fantastic!
The service is helpful and friendly.
Self parking and valet parking are available. All you need to do is tip for valet parking."

"They have a great lunch tasting menu but you can order a la cart if you prefer. It is a beautiful place to just sit relax and have a drink. Views are amazing and you can sit indoor or outdoor. The service was great they actually went out if their way to find me a wine by the glass that I would enjoy and let me sample a few until I found one that was perfect."

"Called to find out if we could bring our dog to their patio as was told yes we could. Made the reservation on OpenTable and put in the comments that we needed to sit on the patio because we were bringing our dog. Made reservation at 11:30 for 1:45 - more than two hours in advance. They are in Big Sur - so we made a special trip for lunch there. We were told when we got there we could not bring in the dog - completely opposite to what I was told on the phone and clearly they never read the special comments - really inexcusable for a restaurant on Opentable at this level. They weren't helpful to possibly remedy the problem - maybe offering to fix us something to go?"

"A great dining experience all around. A self proclaimed foodie and fine dining regular this restaurant had everything I look for. The views are spectacular. We couldn't get a pre-sunset reservation but came early to have a drink and see sunset from the outside patio. Absolutely stunning. The service was excellent, formal, but not snooty. The food - spectacular. The roast squab was breath taking as was the mushroom soup. Chocolate cake dessert was stunning. Artfully composed food. Their in house Pinot noir was excellent.
Beats many Michelin star experiences I've had in San Franscisco. Also a very reasonable price."
