Our waitress more than met our expectations, perfectly paced our meal and assured my food allergy was addressed by kitchen. Food expertly prepared plated and presented. "The food is good, but for the price it should be great. Tre Cugini has one of the best regional Italian menus in town, but also one of the most expensive; so diners should expect and value complex, fresh cuisine and excellent service. Rookie mistakes with preparation ruined what should have been a culmination of great, fresh ingredients into memorable plates on the table. On this occasion fish was seasoned and cooked improperly, the Bolognese tasted more like marinara, the tapenade tasted like canned black olives, and the lemon curd profiteroles were very, very stale and mealy. The kitchen was very slow despite ours being one of the first tables of the day.
The chocolate pudding was delicious, and service at the table was spot on."

"I cannot recall when I have enjoyed a dining experience more than the evening my friend and I spent at Tre Cugini on Saturday. From the hostess, to our server Erin and the rest of the staff, we were treated as both old friends and honored guests. We were never made to feel rushed, attention was paid at the exact moment it was needed and from start to finish the evening was a complete delight.
Our meals were outstanding! My scallops were cooked perfectly and my friend said her chicken was moist and delicious..our shared antipasto was the perfect size to whet our appetites for the meal ahead.
The only blemish on the otherwise perfect evening was the level of noise at the bar, but the very glamorously dressed crowd soon moved on their way."

"I had a great entree- a special that was running. It was a salmon filet perfectly seared and set on top of a buttery cuscus and shaved cucumbers, and then drizzled with a dill champagne vinaigrette- delicious! I sat at the bar and the service was exceptional. The wine list was extensive and featured a lot of obscure Italian labels as well as some impressive domestic options. The accordionist strolling through the dining room was a nice touch also. I was happy to see a ton of great seafood and meat entree options, as well as a nice selection of house made pastas and risottos before deciding on a chef's special. This place would be on an hour wait every night in any major city! Very well done!"

"We've been going to Tre Cugini about once a year since it opened, and consider it to be reliable place to get a serious meal. The food ranges from good to excellent. This time, the sea scallops (special entree) were excellent, and the osso bucco properly cooked, if too bland for my taste. The calamari appetizer was fine, and the marinated green bean salad both interesting and good. The lemon profiteroles for dessert were a pleasant surprise. Service was excellent, and the server's timing unusually good, as was the timing of the arrival of the courses. Yes, the risotto is a little on the al dente side, but I've never had a bad meal there."

"Very nice dinner before going to a play at the Civic Theater. The food was very good (and the drinks too), especially my ricotto and spinach stuffed ravioli. Although, the portions were good for my daughter and wife, I was a little dissappointed in the portion for the ravioli. Very good though, maybe even the best I have ever had. She really liked the acccordianist as well--she plays the flute and loves music. "Atmosphere and Service were great. My wife enjoyed her trout entree. It was a full plate of two filets with large piles of roasted potatoes and a vegetable melody.
My issue was with my dish, the prime tenderloin; coooked medium. When my dish arrived I had 4 very small pieces of potato and a very small portion of vegetables. My wife's comment was that they were trying to make the steak look larger so they put less of the side dishes on the plate. I was more excited about the tenderloin anyway. Cutting into the steak that looked amazing and delicious, and it was completely rare inside. Not even medium rare, but rare. To my fault, I should have flagged the server, but am non-confrontational and did not want to create a scene."

"The service was good, but I was not at all impressed with the food. It was at or below Olive Garden quality at a much higher price. My wife's pasta was improperly cooked and the sauce tasted like Ragu from a jar. My gnocchi was decent, although the sauce lacked flavor. The plating of our appetizer lacked flair."

"The kitchen was very slow. We waited over one hour for the entree. Everyone else waited too. Our server couldn't have been nicer or more attentive. I felt sorry for her. She said the kitchen was short staffed. The food was very good and worth another try."
