It all started here... our first fine-dining restaurant, opened in May of 1996. At Carmen Anthony Steakhouse of Waterbury, we built our reputation for excellence on our thick Angus steaks, fresh daily seafood and Maine lobsters up to 5 pounds, our premier wine list, friendly sociable bar, and superb service. According to Connecticut Magazine's Reader's Choice Restaurant poll (each year from 1997 - 2010) we have become New Haven County's first choice for excellent dining. A popular feature of all Carmen Anthony Restaurants is our private wine lockers made available to discerning patrons. Fine dining at Carmen Anthony Steakhouse is made complete by outstanding coffee and espresso service, and our luscious house-made desserts!

"Attended for 17th anniversary (discount) of Carmen Anthony Steakhouse. Very few patrons were in attendance. Interior was dark and old-school. Found menu to be reasonable and variable for lunch. Service was curt and less than outstanding, though meals arrived quickly Dishes were lunch-size and not overwhelming. Quality of meal/s was better than average but not great - somewhat lacking in imagination."

"We eat at Carmen Anthony's Steakhouse at least 3x per year. We have always loved going there because the food was always top notch and the customer service went above and beyond the call of duty. I took my husband there for his birthday. He had ordered the Prime Rib medium. When it came out it was so rare he couldn't even cut it. They apologized and brought him a new one. That one came out extremely overcooked. Finally they brought him a filet instead. This too came out too tough to eat. Not sure if the cook was having a bad night but it definitely was not our night."

"This is a warm any friendly steak house that is a breath of fresh air from the high priced chains that are popping up all over. Food and service were great, friendly knowledgeable waiter, and the food was wonderful, two of had steaks and another had fish all prepared to perfection. We traveled 90 miles to visit with our Son who move near there and this restaurant just made our trip even more special."

"My husband and I dined here for Valentine's Day. It was our third visit. On our first two visits, we were extremely pleased with everything. The food, the service, and the atmosphere were wonderful. The steak was flavorful, and cooked to perfection. We recommend the cowboy ribeye!! The appetizers were also fantastic. I had the stuffed portobello mushroom. It was huge and delicious. However, my husband agrees that this time, it was just "okay." I ordered the portobello mushroom appetizer again. It was less than half the size and not nearly as flavorful as the first time. It was not worthy of the $11.00 price tag. Had this been our first visit, we would not have returned. We found it to be just an overpriced, average meal."

"when we arrived they had no reservations for us--fortunately they had room. Waitress was very nice but both my date and I felt that when you are paying that much money, you should not have to have everything a la carte.
