Scott's Seafood Restaurant is a Bay Area tradition. Their American regional cuisine features the freshest seafood and prime dry aged steaks. The interior is inviting for all occasions, from casual dining to special occasions, business meetings or your next event.
"Had a cup of the French onion soup and spinach salad along with an Arnold Palmer (iced tea with lemonade). Food was delicious and the service was attentive but not intrusive. Be sure to use the free valet parking that is available in this shopping center. It's in the back on the north side of the shopping center. Available from 11 to 3."

"For before-theatre dining, we all like to go to Scott's. It's close to Lucie Stern Theatre and other activities in the area. Friends who join us have no trouble finding this central location and always find something on the menu that appeals. Something for everyone...not just seafood. And for me, I'm loving the rainbow trout these days."

"Our waitress was great and appeared at just the right times. I have eaten there before but first time for early bird special. Very bland and dish looked like a diet plate. Would hesitate to order from this menu again unless I wanted a very light dinner."

"Four of us from work decided to treat ourselves to a special lunch. Two of us has never been to Scotts, and two of us had been (but about 20 years ago in SF). Everyone was pleased with the food and service. We'll be back!"

"the five of us each had a different dish and everyone raved. Excellent service, quiet table, near Stanford campus. Waiter reminded us of time as we had told him we had tickets for a concert."

"Fresh ingredients, nice selection of seafood and steaks on the menu. Friendly waitstaff. Comfy seats, pleasant lighting, quiet enough for conversation. Some of the dishes we ordered could have had a bit more flavor, but otherwise, the food was fresh and nicely presented."

"Definitely not the quality I have come to expect. Food was disappointing as I had to send back my meal (crab benedict came with burned bread - tasted burned/bitter) and service was slow - seemed the restaurant was under-staffed (mid-day Easter Sunday)"

"We've eaten at Scott's for many years, but we usually eat outside and/or arrive early. This time we ate inside at 7:30 on a Thursday night. There was a band and the noise level was pretty high with patrons trying to talk over it. We were unlucky enough to be seated near a guy who talked a lot and really loudly. I came home from dinner with a sore throat from trying to talk to the others in my party. I'd prefer no band and, of course, no other really loud customers.
I did like the food and service, as usual."

"The seafood salad was about an unimaginative as a salad can be.Iceberg lettuce? One shrimp? My husbandd red snapper was dry, and had boring side dish vegetables that looked like they came from the freezer. Drinks r good, tho."

"We have visited several Scott's restaurants in California and they have always been a favorite. This particular one we found to be less than what we usually experience. The food was very bland, it was not crowded and was obviously more of a senior senior hangout. The decor was very outdated. Quite surprising for a restaurant so close to Stanford University."

"Scott's is one of our favorite restaurants in Palo Alto. The food is fresh, lovely, and delicious. The wait staff is about the best we've seen - courteous, helpful, and friendly. We never have to wait long to get fed, nor do we feel rushed."

"Requested and got a nice quiet table. Waiter extremely helpful and good on tasting wine sold by glass and with menu selections. Also returned undercooked salmon to kitchen and it returned looking attractive, probably on a new plate - and delicious."

"Although the service was very good, the food was bland...the calamari we ate as an appetizer was tough and unseasoned...additionally, the ciccpino was unflavored. Only the shrimp dish with scallops was tolerable."

"Our cocktails, salads, and main courses were delicious. The waiters and busmen were perfectly courteous to us and coordinated with each other. Was in Palo Alto on business with the medical center at Stanford and will probably go back in the coming months as I will be going up regularly."

"This was our first time at this restaurant. It was a Friday night and we had to wait 15 minutes past our reservation time for a table because the restaurant was really busy, which also meant that service was slow, although the waiter tried to mitigate that. They were out of the fried salmon roll, and the food took forever to arrive, which was challenging with a 5 year old. We ended up eating a lot of bread and butter. The waiter was very friendly and apologetic and comped a nice glass of wine for me. Although the wait was too long, the food was fresh, flavorful."

"Very good service. Our server was very attentive. Food is great. This is always a good place to meet up with friends. Definitely a preferred place in the Palo Alto Town and Country area. Parking is a pain though, the shopping plaza does get busy, especially on the weekends."

"As occasional Palo Alto visitors, this was our first visit to Scott's. It is now my favorite restaurant there. On entering, the crowded bar is to the right where there was live guitar music that was pleasant and not so loud that people could not converse. Main dining was to the left and where we sat the music was nicely in the background. The waiter patiently waited for one of our lagging partners, was appropriately attentive during dinner. The halibut, fish & chips and arctic char were all well prepared and delicious. Cant wait to return during our next visit."

"Scott's "ciopinno" was surprisingly good. The mixed environment with a band attempting to party hardy in the bar while diners are randomly dispersed in poorly laid out spaces was the largest drawback. The 'back 40' room where we were seated felt like an overflow room. Our server was quite good but even he seemed to be saying, 'it's weird to be out here'."

"You can always expect Scott's to give a satisfying experience. There aren't many restaurants in the area that have that Chicago dinner house, white table cloth atmosphere. There's no loud, cramped, frenetic hot spot, soon to fade, rush to seat the many waiting, well oiled customers. They actually let you enjoy your cocktail at the table without pressing for your order."

"went for Valentine's day, very poorly run. we had a reservation and did not wind up eating until after the place was closed. we were the last people there. the hostess was clueless and when I went to ask what was going on I got a different answer everytime, including shrugged shoulders. first time there and the last time. our waitress was very nice though."

"My rating is "Very Good" for Overall and Food because I think "Outstanding" should be reserved for experiences that change your life. But the food was excellent, as was the service. I was going to a concert at Stanford (across the street), so ate early with a friend. Don't know what the bar scene or noise level gets to later in the evening. I would say that a meal at Scott's is really a very pleasant experience, and I would recommend it to anyone."

"Not sure why a previous review said there were not very many seafood choices....there were many choices last Saturday night. Two in our party had King Salmon (one was on the regular menu, the other was a special preparation that night), another of our party had Petrale Sole, and I had the Seafood Sauté (scallops, prawns, and two small pieces of Dungeness crab--yummy!!,) We all enjoyed our dinners and there were many other fish selections. We each had a salad; Spinach, Caesar, and my husband had the seared ahi appetizer which he loved!
The restaurant was busy but not crazy busy which was nice for us. thoroughly enjoyed the food, service and ambience!!"

"I'm hoping this was a one time thing, but the service was terrible. I think our waiter had too many tables and just couldn't handle them all. The menu was completely inadequate for a seafood place. The choice of seafood was very small (Tuna, Prawns, Scallops and lobster tail, that's about it). A seafood place like this (on the pacific coast) needs a much broader selection of fish (swordfish, marlin, mahi mahi, etc. etc). I think the steak selection was better than the seafood selection."

"I had a horrible experience. I told the hostess it was my mom's birthday and she forgot. Our server was not very friendly. I've been here a few times in the past and ordered the halibut. They changed their menu and no longer have this. I ordered the trout and the sauce was way too heavy. Food was not memorable."
