"I asked for my filet to be oscar style since they serve salmon that way. I got an overcooked filet with a little crab meat (that didnt taste anything like crab meat) on top. It still had the demi glaze on it; no asparagus or hollandaise sauce. I was charged $8 for the oscar style. I could have got a much better steak at Mortons for $39! My husband ordered his steak medium rare also but came out medium well."

"The restaurant was off the beaten path of the Savannah tourism nonsense, which is what I wanted. The wait staff was wonderful - attentive, without being overwhelming. The food was delicious! Loved the ambience of the old inn, and even though there was a pianist playing and singing, it wasn't too loud; just nice.

"As usual, we enjoyed the food, service and ambiance at 1790. The owners are very friendly and always take good care of us when we dine at 1790. Food is great, place was crowded, but it was intimate enough to enjoy a private conversation. Dinners are moderately priced."

"We stayed at the inn and decided to try the restaurant our first night. Housed in a historic building, it is all brick and so quaint. Steven, our server was knowledgeable, personable and top-notch. We started with the shrimp 'n grits and the crab stew followed by a chicken dish and the special, a spotted grouper dish. The food was prepared perfectly. Steven was attentive but not overboard. A piano player tickled the ivories in the corner and it was all just so perfect. The associated bar is a bit of local hang-out but in a good way. Everybody was friendly and the bartender, Martha, makes great drinks!"

"My new husband and I dined here during our honeymoon. It was a Tuesday night at 9 so things were very quiet and romantic. Our waiter, Steven, was wonderful. He was very attentive and made us feel special. The exposed brick, common in many restaurants, felt even more relevant given the age of the inn.
The crab stew was delicious, and I kept eating the shrimp/scallop scampi long after I was full.
We also felt Thaddeus's ghost. Very warm presence. Husband was sweating!
We will definitely be back!"

"We ended up eating both lunch and dinner at the 17hundred90 restaurant in Savannah.I'm sure glad we did! At lunch we had the Angus burger and it was definitely the BEST burger I'd ever had! The flavor and juiciness were incredible! My friend had the salad with homemade raspberry dressing and the Jumbolia, she said both were wonderful!The Honey Bisquits were sweet and delicious We had dinner here also and both had the Filet, although mine was more well than medium I still found it delicious. They apologized for it and took the cost of our drinks off the bill. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Our server at lunch told us GHOST stories about the Inn. If you're not too scared I recommend staying at the Inn, the rooms are beautifu"

"Went there to celebrate my 10th anniversary with my wife. The food was excellent. The waiter was a little new and seemed a bit overwhelmed. We got a seat right next to the piano, and I can't say enough about the talented young man playing that night. "The hostess showed us to the bar because the dining room wasn't quite ready and then forgot to get us. Also, I have been coming to this restaurant for a number of years and the menu doesn't seem to change. Usually there are only 1 or 2 specials which really doesn't give you any variety in ordering food. The food, though, has consistently been very good and Scott has waited on us several times and he is excellent!!"

"We couldn't have had a more enjoyable evening at 17hundred90 - First, the atmosphere (which I'm very picky about) was perfection: historic home with exposed brick walls and 2 fireplaces (could have been more, but I saw 2). This was the room to the right when you enter - I saw a room to the left but didn't get a good look at it.
We ordered bacon wrapped scallops as an appetizer and it was delicious - three of the largest scallops I'v ever seen encased in perfectly cooked crunchy bacon. Then filet mignon & chicken boursin - both wonderful! I enjoyed a glass of the Apothic Red but the wine list was extensive and there were many choices. Desert was the chocolate bomb and pecan pie - We were both delighted with our meails from start to finish"

"We ended up not keeping our reservation. After talking to several local folks and a group of other visitors that had eaten there the day before we changed our minds. The reviews we got were not positive by any of them (and the locals were random people we met on the street). They said the service was good but the food was served lukewarm and was not worth the price. I think it is just a product of having so many tourists in and out. Maybe we will try it next time."

"We enjoyed the ambience of the centuries old building, as well as the attentive service of the wait staff and the hostess. Both my entree, a pork tenderloin special, and my husband's jambalaya were delicious and nicely presented. We will definitely dine here again when in Savannah."
