"We made reservations for Mother's Day Brunch but was given a Mothers Day dinner menu at 11:00. The food was ok but for the price you would expect more. Service was below average. This will be the last time we go to the Flaming Torch. With so many better options I don't see how this resturant can survive."

"we had a horrific experience on mother's day. the restaurant was understaffed on this day. it took over 2 hours to get our main course. we were a party of 3. when we were seated upstairs there were no other tables occupied. we saw larger groups come in, eat and leave while we still waited for our food. the oyster starter was good and arrived on time. it then took hours for our main courses to arrive. when it arrived, the redfish had that bad fishy taste that you dont want in a fish dish. we will not go back. the waitress was a mess, rushing back and forth, flinging things on the floor, even wiped her hands on our table cloth at one point. if you go: don't get the redfish and don't let them sit you upstairs (you are likely to be forgotten)."

"This is absolutely one of my favorite local restaurants ! There is nothing about it that isn't uniquitely New Orleans . I feel like I'm dining in France! The food is fresh and original while keeping with tradition! Truly a neighborhood gem......."

"The food was good but the portions very small. There was only one vegatable to choose from on the entire menu. My entree included "potatoes" which turned out to be one (1) small new potatoe cut into four pieces, four (4) asparagus and a half (1/2) fillet of fish. Prices are high for the portion of food served. There was definitely nothing outstanding or distinguishing about the food to satisfy me with the price and portion size."

"I was so disappointed in my recent visit to Flaming Torch! The appetizers were great but our $30+ entrees were mediocre. I ordered the steak medium-rare and it came to the table burnt and dry. My asparagus were wilted, discolored and resembled canned asparagus. the waiter was not attentive and had an arrogant tone. I've been to this place once before and was impressed by how delicious the food was. After this experience I will not be returning. If your food cost so much you should be able to replicate the same quality of food each and every time. Oh and always reserve a table downstairs!!!!"

"I took a friend here for Valentine's Day, and neither of us could have been more impressed. There was a limited menu that day, but what they offered was delicious. We ordered the escargot and scallops, both of which had these great sauces. The bread pudding was awesome as well."

"My friend and I had a wonderful time at this restaurant. The food was very good, not outstanding. My only criticism would be that the best thing about the Caesar Salad was the parmesan cracker and the anchovies were very slimy. Also, the white chocolate bread pudding tasted more like plain old bread pudding, and not in a good way. I loved my Redfish entrée, although it was small and I only received one asparagus spear. My friend really enjoyed the Coffee-encrusted Lamb Chops and it was quite a large portion. Really nice waiter, who had good suggestions, and was very non intrusive."

"THE GOOD: Lovely Atmosphere; our 2nd waiter ; generally good food; quiet enough to have a discussion with table-mates. THE BAD:long wait between 1st and 2nd courses (45 mins); Waiter didn't know much about the wines. I requested a Pinot Noir.He told me all of their Pinot Noirs were "watery" and I should have a full-bodied Cab-said he'd come back when I'd decided. I ordered a Pinot Noir that I was familiar with. (not watery by the way) It was served too warm in an improper glass -after he forgot it for 20 mins. My fillet and the potatoes that it was perched on weren't hot enough. The BBQ shrimp were good but a small order for an entree. Our first waiter disappeared with no explanation; Manager was totally unresponsive to our concerns"
