"I took my mom and grandma out for afternoon tea, and it was a definitely special. The service was great and the food was great and we felt like ladies at leisure. A little on the pricey side, but that's expected of a fine tea experience. We will definitely come again."

"Lovely spot for lunch or tea. My only critique would be that my server seemed a bit overwhelmed with her table load which threw off the pace of our service. Her personality was however delightful which helped. Also the tea could have been hotter - I'd consider tea cozies at the table or some kind of temperature regulator in the kitchen so it arrives hot enough in the beginning. Over all though, the quality of the food made up for any hiccups in service. I have tea in every city I visit and this level of quality competes with some of the 5-star hotels' tea service. Great job!"

"The food was great, especially the green bean soup and pastrami sandwich. I was very impressed with the exceptional customer service, they made sure we enjoyed our afternoon tea experience. Even the customers were very friendly and suggested some of the items off the menu. And the noise level is at a minimum so you are able to have a conversation without having to raise your voice. Overall excellent experience would definitely return."

"I took 2 girlfriends for lunch. The food was good and service was friendly. We love this place cause the decor is so fancy. However I have to deduct 1 star from the service because we used a Travelzoo coupon and an 18% was added (even for small party). I was not told so and I paid another 18% on top of the original before discount price. So a very generous 36% in total. Unless I read my bill item by item which I didn't, I did not notice the 'service charge'added. For most resturants I understand about the mandatory 18% for 6+ guess. Otherwise the server should either circle the charge or verbally told me so which he did not do neither. I felt I was cheated in a way."

"The Hostess was upbeat and friendly. The service was attentive, without being intrusive. At the height of the lunch rush, with 2 large parties in the next room, my group never felt neglected. The tea sandwiches were excellent, as were staff recommendations for cocktails and the specials of the day. The tea cakes were moist and flavorful, and the petit-fours were both adorable and delicious. I'd recommend it for Mother's Day, Birthdays, or just for lunch with your best girlfriends. "We arrived timely at 6 pm and were seated immediately, the staff was very gracious. Our server was helpful about the menu items for our evening tea. The cucumber and watercress sandwich I ordered was a bit dry and the cucumbers were bitter...perhaps needed more watercress and butter to balance the tastes. My only other comment is the sandwich fillings were quite thin.
The restaurant added a 20% gratuity to our check, we were unaware they would do that as it is not stated on the menu nor in our Open Menu information. Open Table did ask to tip on the full amount of the tea. Their menu states a 20% gratuity will be added for parties of 6 or more."

"The best tea service I have ever experienced. I have been 3 times now ( afternoon tea on a Tuesday with bistro lunch options also, weekend afternoon tea, and evening tea during the week. ) . During the weekend tea service ( and I'm told dinner on Friday and Saturday as well) they have live music. It's more crowded and louder, but the service and the food do not suffer at all for it. Weekdays are quieter, and the staff make you feel like special guests. The atmosphere at Scarlet is elegant, but comfortable.
The food is the BEST. Wide selection of tea sandwiches expertly prepared. Scones with cream, lemon curd and jam and desserts delicious. Soup off lunch menu fantastic. Save room for berries romanoff- not to be missed!"

"It was my first time at the Scarlet Tea Room and certainly won't be the last. We were using a Living Social Voucher and they made it so easy to use. Despite the deafening construction noise outside, once inside, you couldn't hear the noise from the construction and we could focus on enjoying tea. I've been to many different restaurants for tea, but without a doubt, these were the best tea sandwiches ever. One of my pet peeves with tea rooms is that you can't figure out what is in the sandwich without a magnifying glass. Not true at Scarlet Tea Room! The fresh and tasty sandwiches were stuffed with yummy fillings like olive tapenade with roasted red pepper and walnut chicken pesto. Great service! Great food! Great time! We'll be back!"

"The owner/hostess is not friendly to our group of four. Seat us separately on two tables side by side instead of one table. Despite there are table for four available. At least she can move the two side by side tables together so we dont have to speak loudly throughout our lunch conversation. Also she make it really difficult accepting the living social coupon. The food is not worth the money we paid for it either. Overall bad experience."

"This was just a delight! The 5 course tea was just wonderful! The scones just melt in your mouth. Everything was just delicious and the atmosphere was elegant. What is nice is if you are in a group and someone doesn't want the 5 course or the 3 course tea they have a regular lunch menu as well. It was a very special experience. I will definitely go there again."

"I came here for the second time, but this time for evening tea and dinner. For the most part, the service was pretty good, except for one waiter who seemed to be pretty conceited. I was using my Travelzoo voucher, which allowed us to have 2 champagne glasses with strawberries. However, since we had a party of 3 people, he asked us if one of us would still like to order a champagne glass, or have sparkling cider instead. One of my friends decided to have the sparkling cider, and so we ordered the 2 champagne glasses (that already came with the voucher), and then an additional glass of sparkling cider. However, he brought out 2 glasses of sparkling cider and 1 champagne glass. I asked him if he could correct this, and he was really snooty."

"My husband ordered for dinner the shrimp menu, it was so delicious that I would recommend the dish. I ordered 5 course high tea menu, the scone was excellent, I didn't like the tea sandwiches, but the rest was excellent. What I liked most was the ambiance of the restaurant, friendly staff, and most of all the band. The voice of the singer is heavenly."

"It took forever for service to come over and ask us what we would like to eat and drink, but other than that it was charming and lovely. The food is yum. I took my friends for brunch as thanks for going bridal dress shopping with me. It was a sweet place to celebrate such an event."
