La Bottega is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, weekend brunch, as well as drinks and appetizers. The Trattoría, located on the north side of 9th Avenue has a full food and bar menu, and has a wood burning oven for delicious pizzas. The Caffé is located on the south side of 9th Avenue and has an additional bar and Caffé food menu. The outdoor patio has two sections- the Trattoria side for dining, and the Caffé side for drinks and lighter fare. During the colder seasons the perimeter of the patio is enclosed for greenhouse seating. Reservations are accepted for the indoor dining room. During the summer, the outdoor patio does not accept reservations; walk-in guests are seated.
"The outdoor deck is filled with trees, albeit potted, but it does give a lovely ambiance to the cafe, trattoria, and bar. I just wish the food were better! It wasn't bad or anything; my carpaccio with pureed black truffles was very earthy, just as it should be. My fish-dish, however, was on the boring side, spice-wise, and was also a little overdone. I want my fish to flake more, or be to the side of rare, actually. This had become, well, a little rubbery. Some potentially good things on the menu, just needs a little more care. My dining companion's rigatoni looked pretty good, but I prefer my prosciutto to be in thin slices, not large chunks in a dish; the flavor is in the surface area, don't you know!"

"My family came to NYC for my graduation and I wanted to give them a quintessential cosmopolitan brunch experience. The elevated outdoor patio is perfect. The ambience with hanging lanterns is exquisite. It felt like we were in Europe dining in a piazza. The brunch menu is quite diverse in tea of sweet and savory options. The truffled eggs was a hit!"

"Non-friendly and downright rude service.... Came there years before and decided to revisit and bring good friends, made a horrible impression on them. I won't be going back and don't recommend anyone going until they treat customers with respect."

"Two friends and I spent a wonderful, warm evening dining outside at La Bottega, and all of us were THRILLED with the experience. The food was delicious -- especially given how affordable it was -- the service was attentive, and the ambiance (eating outside in their paper lantern-lit courtyard was PERFECT. We arrived at 6:30 on a Thursday night and did NOT have to wait for a table. Highly recommended!"

"We had a great brunch at La Bottega. The day was a little bit cold but they have special heaters for those who decided to stay outside. Great food and perfect service. We´ll be back and recommend it to friends."

"The brunch service was not great. My husband ordered the burger which was the size of a patty. My egg white omelette tasted like Egg Beaters and was cold. I was disappointed and will not be going back any time soon."

"I have lived in Manhattan for over 30 years and found La Bottega to be one of the best finds ever: the food, service, ambiance and decor -- all superb. All nestled in the unique and inviting space of The Maritime Hotel on 9th Ave. in West Chelsea. La Bottega: "Welcome to New York!""

"the service was terrible here -- we waited an hour until our food came although people who came in after use were getting their meals. after it did come it was the wrong order. all the tables around us were complaining about the service as well. the food was very "eh", because restaurant was so highly unorganized i would not come back"

"I have been going here for several years and always had great service and great food. There seems to be a new chef who has "adjusted" some of the menu items and they are good but not as great as the old one, like the farro salad. It was much better with oranges than cherry tomatos. But I'll continue to go back for the delicious pizzas and the lovely patio."

"Normally do not write reviews but wanted to note La Bottega. Excellent food, even better ambience/environment - both inside and outside areas. Attentive service and very reasonable pricing. Delicious carpaccio with black truffle oil and arugula... amazing pizzas. And a berry tart with the most flaky, melt-in-your-mouth crust served piping hot with vanilla gelato atop. A must-see if you want a fun, outdoorsy spot right in the heart of Chelsea."

"I must be getting old. This is definitely a thirty and under place. No one on staff has an idea what dining is about. This place is about eating and drinking, and mostly drinking. The food was tasty, but the meal was not enjoyable. We did not get bread at our table until a busboy came by and noticed we never got bread. My wife and I were only halfway through our appetizers when a runner appeared with our main courses. He wanted to put them down and we sent him away. I was told by my waiter that the kitchen controls the timing and waiters are not allowed to tell them when to put up a course. There is a small, very reasonably priced wine list, but this place is not for serious wine drinkers."

"Food was pretty good. We started with the mussels and the seared tuna. The mussels were tasty, but they didn't serve us a bowl for the shells or any silverware. Tuna was pretty bland. We had the Bronzino and Steak for entrees. Both were decent, but nothing too special. For the prices, there are certainly better places. But by far, the worst part was the service. Our waiter literally only came to our table twice. Once to take our drink orders and once to take the food orders. Never came to ask how the food was and couldn't even get his attention to get the bill, we had to get it from another waiter. With all the options for Italian in NYC, we will not be returning."

"I should say that I have been here many times and will keep going back. However, I think this place is only worth it if you are seated outside. The only issue is that outside dinning isn't a guarantee. Even if you reserve ahead of time. So be wary. The pizza and pasta is good. The bread they serve beforehand is delicious. This time we had poor service- very difficult to get drinks or drink refills, but I have been there before and it wasn't an issue."

"My friends and I come here all the time. It's been one of our favorite places. Unfortunately this time the service was horrible. We had to ask for everything even our utensils after the food arrived. Then when my food didn't come even though everyone at my table heard me order it....our waitress, instead of being apologetic stood there and argued with me that I didn't order anything after my appetizer. Sadly this is not the first time we have had awful unacceptable service here. This is the second time recently that we had a bad experience. I hope things improve. If not we won't be coming here anymore! One more chance!"

"My first time at La Bottega was great. My guest and I shared a salad, gnocchi, pizza, and bottle of wine. Everything was delicious and well prepared. The service was attentive, although we did have to ask for several items (salt and pepper, olive oil, bread).
Otherwise it was a great time."

"On a Friday evening, when the weather was perfect to sit outside and dine, even with reservations unfortunately we were not able to be seated outside. Instead we had a semi-outdoor seating which overlooked the outside scene (which did it for the day). Our order was late the moment we sat down. Anytime we needed our waitress, she was never around or reachable, we kept asking the servers for things we needed. Even our bill was late. There was a 10+ teenage bday table right next to us which was not fun either, kept popping balloons and running around in front of our table- managers nor any of the staff members cared.
Would not recommend this place if you are looking for quality italian with good service."

"I was at La Bottega last year with my fiance and had a great meal with a beautiful backdrop. My parents were in town this past weekend so I decided to bring them there for brunch. Service was awful!! We ordered coffee and were not given spoons, milk, or sugar. After asking several times, we still didn't get these items. My father ordered pancakes and was not given syrup. We were never given the syrup and after 20mins the pancakes were cold. We spoke to the manager and sent back our food. We refused to pay for cold pancakes without syrup. We ended up walking across the street to eat at Chelsea Market. Sad to see such a beautiful place go down the tubes."

"The brunch meal itself was very good, but the service was shockingly slow. We were only one of a very few tables in the restaurant and it took 45 minutes to get our food. Our cappuccinos showed up lukewarm every time because they sat at the bar forever. Slow service is consistently the issue here. Too bad, because the food is good."

"The coffee and free bread were mediocre. The rest was wonderful! I ordered the breakfast pizza and wished I could have eaten it all but my stomach couldn't take it. I took it home and ate as much as I could of it through the day. It was amazing. I loved their chicken sausage. The french toast with mascarpone was delicious (my husband had this). I would definitely go again."

"After telling the waitress we needed another minute, wit took 15 - 20 minutes for her to return. It wasn't a big deal for my companion and me because we had fresh drinks and were chatting, but I did wonder what took so long. The food was solid goof food, creative Italian brunch, but it wasn't as completely special as I had hoped. The butter with the warm banana bread was hard as a rock, the citrus tartaric pancakes were dry (before the syrup)...but the bacon was extra crispy as requested and the drinks came quickly and deliciously. Not a perfect experience but because everyone was so friendly, I'll be back."

"The waitress said it was her first brunch. We never got a backet of bread we always get,, it took us forever to get a check. And we even had to bring the card/check to the front since she was taking too long to come get the card/check. Some of us do not have 3 hours for brunch. Food used to taste better too,. I loved this place so I recommended for a brunch with friends but I was a bit embarrassed. I may not go back."
