Created in partnership with Scott and Gina Gottlich of acclaimed local favorite, Bijoux Restaurant, The Second Floor features a sophisticated, yet contemporary, cuisine and an intimate dining experience. The restaurant’s 2,500-square-foot dining area is completely enclosed in glass and features a terrazzo floor, ethanol-burning fireplace and warm color scheme to create an inviting, relaxing ambiance. The restaurant’s a la carte menu features a distinctive and creative spin on contemporary cuisine, with signature dishes such as short ribs and eggs and Kennebec potato gnocchi, as well as original cocktails and one of the largest Scotch collections in Dallas – perfect for an after-work escape, shopping-trip interlude or weekend-getaway indulgence.
"The food was good but the price was WAY too high. My party of five for Mother's Day brunch included my 3 children. An 18% gratuity was added to our bill for "large groups." Given that we served ourselves except for drinks, that seems excessive. Not to mention that the total bill was well over $400. I was expecting high prices, but a $400 brunch is a sign that the 2nd Floor thinks much more highly of the food they serve than most brunch-goers will.
After the first seating, there was no one waiting to be seated."

"My wife, son and I visited The 2nd Floor for Mother's Day Buffet Brunch.
The restaurant seated guests in two different rooms, one of which was beyond the elevators of the Westin hotel that owns the restaurant. Navigating waiting elevator traffic to get to service tables situated in the lobby was uncomfortable.
Menu choices were standard brunch fare, minus a few that one normally sees. Some chilled foods were not iced, creating a concern. Many hot selections were picked over and slowly replaced or, in some cases, never replenished.
Many selections were rather tasteless, as if prepared far in advance and warmed under hot lights. The dessert selection was wide.
Service was impeccable, but we left feeling that we would not return."

"The cost is much too high considering there was not much selection of brunch selections (e.g., 3 salads and 3 desserts). Would have expected more from a Westin. Service was slow and lack luster. We had to continue to ask for things."

"Excellent buffet with a generous number of dishes one normally wouldn't fund: delicious duck hash, pork belly Eggs Benedict, carved roasted Salmon- plus dozens of other enjoyable choices. New Chef is doing a great job. The unlimited Mimosa bar was well conceived and executed. Probably the best cooked-to-order omelet I've had. Appealing decorations and an Easter Bunny who was a hit with the kids. I felt the dessert station didn't match the rest of the buffet in terms of choices offered. Service was very friendly even if there were occasional hiccups. Look forward to returning for the Mother's Day Brunch."

"I was looking for an Easter Buffet and this was outstanding. I understand this was their first buffet. I hope they will continue it on all major holidays."

"The lost my reservations. Luckily I still had the email confirmation on my phone/email and was able to provide a confirmation number. And unfortunately even with a confirmation number they still could not find my reservations. But after speaking to a manager they were able to accommodate my party of 6 within 20 minutes."

"The Second Floor is a gem. Wait staff is friendly and accommodating. Food is great and changes so there is a nice variety. The french dip sandwich is great. all the salads look artful. i really like the blue cheese hamburger with fries-their sweet potato fries are very popular. Great place for a quiet lunch when you want to get away from craziness of the mall. And it is easy to get in and out of the Westin-valet parking is quick and easy."

"Every restaurant can have a bad day, and we seem to have caught The 2nd Floor on a bad day. We were there for Sunday brunch; it wasn't terribly crowded, but they were slow to take our order and then took almost 40 minutes to get it to us. And even then, one of the three orders was served cold and needed to be redone. To their credit, they treated us well and recovered as best they could. The food itself was excellent once it got there."

"It is a hotel restaurant, with the good and bad things related with its kind. The service was outstanding, very well trained waiter, the food was simply good. The spinach salad was very well prepared, and great dressing. The pasta -farfalle- was too zesty, more lemmon that needed, the scallops were salted in excess. The place was emty, only two tables. They had 50% discount on bottles of wine. The price a little bit high, which is normal in restaurants in hotels."

"Wine list very overpriced and uninspired - a typical hotel restaurant list. The Pork Bellyappetizer was the best item we had - other food was prepared well if a bit basic."
