"I was very disappointed with my recent visit to this restaurant. I had been several times before but stopped going after they made a few changes to the menu and dropped the double boned pork chop which was amazing. When I saw they had added a pork chop option again I was quite thrilled. However the dish was mediocre, the pork chop was overcooked and slightly dry and the mashed potatoes bland. I complained to the server who's only explanation was that it has to be well cooked as it is pork but this is not true, maybe 20 years ago but these days it's not the case. He did offer to replace it but I opted to just finish what I had. Other entrees ordered were also mediocre as was the calamari appetizer."

"We live in a small town south of Ottawa and try to treat ourselves a few times a year to a weekend in TO. Those trips always include a dinner out at Canyon Creek. Last weekend we travelled with 3 of our 4 grown kids and we all enjoyed a wonderful meal as always.

"We spent the day in Toronto touring and found the restaurant close to the theatre and the Rogers Center. All within walking distance. The restaurant was great. we had the prime rib and porkchop dinner. IT WAS WONDERFUL. The waiter was very helpful with our menu selections. We told him we had to be at the Blue Jays game at seven and and he made sure that we were done in time to walk to the ballgame. We will certainly will be back From Brantford, Ont"

"Well-designed restaurant with good, reasonably-priced food, and friendly service. High-traffic location on Front St. W. assures the place is often full so a reservation may be a good idea.
The place is in the basement of a building, there is no natural light, and tends to be dark. Some may like this, some may not."

"The only difficulty (slight) was that I went on line three days before the luncheon and changed my reservation from 4 people to 5. When we arrived they were expecting 4 of us and had no record of the change. I believe I made the change correctly so there might have been a problem with the system or how it was handled. Luckily they found space in a short period of time and the rest of the event was excellent. The staff was outstanding!"

"Waiter was cheerful and attentive without being overbearing.
Food was plentiful, pleasing to the eye, and very good to the uneducated pallet.
I will add the that the medium cut of the Prime-rib was on the dry side for my wife, but the Medium rare cut for myself was perfect to my tastes.
The decor is very elegant, and this is rare to find in the shadow of the ACC, and the Rogers Center where fast food is the main attraction. The restaurant is one of our favorites for special occasions, but I guess there was a Baseball game, or a hockey game that night, because we found the restaurant very noisy."

"This location busy Canyon Creek location is near some of Toronto's most popular attractions. It features a good standard menu of chicken, steak, pasta and fish. There are decent wine choices that are moderately priced. The service is friendly but not intrusive. It is within walking distance of the Roger's Centre and the ACC. "I used to go all the time, but was disspointed how they handled the timing of the pre leaf game. My fish was over dry and although we ordered at 5:50pm our main courses, food didn't come until 6:30 (no appetizers) So we had to eat quickly and even one of our guests had no time to finish her meal. (Hers came out wrong first, no dressing and came with dressing, so ....)"

"After trying without any success to book a dinner for 7 friends from out of town for 8:45 somewhere near the Royal York, I was very happy to get a reservation at Canyon Creek. We can't say enough about the helpful, friendly and courteous wait staff there, who made no fuss at our request for separate bills. Friends were very happy with their meals, although I can't say the same for my bland pasta dish. On the whole, it was a great spot for a group to meet and talk without blaring music, but in very comfortable, warm surroundings. I wouldn't really recommend it as a "dining destination" in terms of the quality of the food."

"A fine dining experience without the fine dining price tag. It's a chop house so take the fine dining experience to be more about the environment, the service, the knowledge of the wait staff rather than how fancy the food looks on the plate and the creative use of spices and herbs. Our waitress (can't recall her name) was outstanding. Her knowledge of the menu and her suggestions on how to alter some items for food allergies was excellent. The professionalism of the arrival experience is also something that plays into the overall experience and it was also outstanding. Friendly, professional and attentive."

"The table that we were brought to was very nice and in a great location. The restaurant was full when we arrived at 6:45, however, about a half hour later it was much quieter. Our server was most helpful and friendly."

"My friend and I were attending a concert at Roy Thompson Hall on April 2nd. The same night was the opening game of the baseball season at Skydome and also a concert at the ACC. So, the restaurant was extremely busy. As soon as we sat down the waiter asked if we were attending the game. We weren't, but it was nice that he was a least taking this into consideration. The food was good, served in a timely manner and the waiter very polite and efficent. I have been to the downtown Canyon Creek location a number of times and always find the food and service to be consistent. I will be back!"
