"We dined on a Tuesday later in the evening and had the normal tasting menu and wine pairings. The food and service were impeccable, and the wine pairings complimented the meal very well. The meal was the best we've had in the area, slightly better than we have had at any of the best New England restaurants including Clio, Mombo, Pistou, etc.
We will definitely be back for special trips or occasions in the KPT area."

"It was for my 40th birthday and it is on the expensive side but worth it for a treat. The food was excellent and service top notch. The dessert was the best part, try the white chocolate creme brûlée, it was fabulous. The place is very nice and romantic we really enjoyed the experience and everyone should do this at least once in their lifetime!"

"We went to this restaurant because it was in the book, "1,000 Things to See Before You Die". We read about the restaurant and were in the general area and decided that we needed to eat here. It is everything the book describes and more. One of the most memorable meals we have ever eaten!! The food is incredible, and the service is impeccable. I highly recommend it to all foodies!"

"Had dinner at the White Barn Inn about 15 years ago and it has always been in my top five. Recently revisited another of my top 5's and was disappointed so I was prepared to have my hopes dashed again. However, it was not to be as the elegant food and atmosphere of the White Barn more than measured up to my memories. I hope the management never surrenders their "jackets for gentlemen" policy because, in this day and age of jeans acceptable everywhere, it is nice to dress up for dinner once in awhile, even if forced to, as it adds to the specialness of the evening. Anyway the food was amazing, the service impeccable and the setting sublime. It is surely a splurge evening, but a splurge well worth making."

"Absolutely a world class 5-star dining experience. The variation of local oysters appetizer is just one of the creative, exquisite delights we experienced on a weekday night, but it is at the very top of my all time dishes, and visually it was spectacular. Each of the three variations on different themes was served in an oyster shell perched atop its own little pillar of salt; the fourth oyster contained a serving of horseradish ice cream, another delicate combination of flavors to complement the other three. The four courses ordered were interspersed with additional amuse bouches to expand this sensually luscious evening, all enhanced further by superb wait staff and pianist. Take note of the unique sculptures on each table."

"When my husband and I first arrived at the White Barn Inn, we were greeted by a valet, a doorman wearing a white jacket with coattails and white gloves, and the maitre'd. My first thought was, 'Great, another hoity-toity restaurant with a too high opinion of themselves and food that will surely disappoint'. As we were seated, it quickly became apparent that this was obviously not true. We opted for the pre fixe menu, which included bonus amuse bouche and mignardise courses. The service was gracious and not at all overbearing. The food was nothing short of an otherworldly experience. There were some eye-closing 'Mmmmmm' moments, as well as in my chair yummy dances. I highly recommend you dine here!!"

"The White Barn Inn gave my son and I one of the most spectacular dinming experiences of the past 12 months. We have eaten at multiple Relais & Chateaux in Europe and the US and Michelin-starred establishments but Grand Chef Jonathan Cartwright demonstrates masterfully that a truly memorable restaurant experiemce isn't just about great food (which the White Barn has), or a great sommelier (which it also has) but a perfect combination of attentive, thoughtful, knowledgeable and friendly service combined with cuisine that is perfectly balanced, creative yet comforting, and served with genuine warmth and generosity. "My wife and I have dined at the White Barn over Valentine's Weekend (as well as many times prior) and I have to say that the service seems to be slipping but the price keeps going up. It has now become too expensive to go to on a fairly regular basis. We have dined at equal resturants in Boston for less money than the White Barn. The staff packed up leftovers for us to take home, we forgot, they apparently did too. We were also fairly disappointed that the tasting menu was not available on the weekends. On a positive note, the food was excellent as usual."

"This was my first visit to the White Barn Inn and we went to try the new Bistro menu. The inn is beautiful, the service spectacular, but we were surprised that the food was uneven. "Unfortunately, the White Barn Inn has lost some if the qualities that made it unique. Gone is the charming maitre d, replaced by a young, self-important (bordering on rude) young man, who apparently cannot smile and gives the impression that diners are there for his disdain. The food is still OK, but not unique or exciting. The chef's bite tasted "fishy." (I have nothing against fish, unless it is old like this must have been. There is no excuse for that on the Maine coast!) The herb froth on top was tasteless as were the green beans underneath (calling them "haricots verts" does not render them tastier.) We heard the man at the next table send his back as inedible. The rest of the courses were over-salted. Gone are the domes & descriptions"
