"This is a very small thing but I couldn't help but think it seemed odd. My friend and I were sitting in a booth just beneath the blackboard where the specials are listed. My friend saw soft shell crab and our waiter informed us that was the special for the day before, and was not available. ???
I expect that from some places but City Crab is by no means cheap so when I see something on the board I expect it's accurate and TODAY - something I can actually order.
Then we ordered them anyway and instead of sauteed (which I was sure the waiter said) he brought them out fried and overly salty. Normally we split a bottle of wine and linger at City Crab - this was the first time we left half the food, had one drink and went elsewhere."

"Overall the food was good and the service was very good but this could also be that it was a Monday and there weren't much patrons. The lobster Mac and cheese was pretty good, the shrimp scampi was good although I wasn't true scampi. All in all it's a nice atmosphere and the food is good but nothing to impressive."

"Having eaten here quite a few times, this was the first time I was disappointed. While service was good and the waitress was friendly and cheerful, my entree (an expensive plate of steamed king crab legs) came out cold and the baked potato was luke warm. When you go to a diner, you expect these things but not at a higher end seafood restaurant in Manhattan. Yes, the issue was remedied but was still annoying. Also, another entree (fish) was quite small, something surprising based on past visits."

"We were 3 girls celebrating my 60 years birthday on 11th April 2013 and we had a wonderful evening. The staff very very observant - smiling and friendly - and I got a candle in my starter and a big birthday hug from the very kind servant. "While the food was excellent, the service was slow. Our waiter was overwhelmed and while attentive and polite, it was obvious was responsible for too many tables. We were upstairs which I would NOT recommend. You seem to be set aside from the downstairs buzz of the place. Price seemed right for the food so no surprise. "Stick to happy hour at City Crab. They just started an all you can drink brunch menu for $17 additional to your entree, and it is not worth it. Our meal ended up being very expensive. The brunch menu is tiny with mainly breakfast options. You can order off the main menu which we did, but I don't think our meal was worth the price. If you haven't been to City Crab, it's a pretty big restaurant downstairs and there were two other tables sat for brunch which made a rather depressing atmosphere."

"Front door service was great! Our server was the problem. I usually give three strikes before I complain and this server, Aaron had about 4 strikes! He was quick but quick in a bad way. Mistake 1- He messed up our drink order(henny/coke and water/no ice) Mistake 2- He completely forgot to order our starter mealsMistake 3- He did not bring out our meals to ensure that everything was ok. We ordered Maine Lobster and a pasta meal. There was no cracking tool for the lobster! I was forced to using my fork and knife to obtain the lobster meat. Mistake 4- it was my birthday on the 24th of March. According to City Crab, as a City Crab member, members receive a free meal on their Birthday. He knew nothing about that! Will not return!"

"We won't be going back. Upstairs closes @9p, and apparently so does speedy service. It Took forever to get our food and they were NOT very busy by NY standards. Plus the food wasn't anything to rave about, so this was an overall disappointing experience."

"The service was impeccable-- Kristin was great. The seafood was amazing. Wonderful tuna tartare, heavenly oysters, and divine grouper.. Only the pasta was disappointing. It was gummy and solid, in fact. But the flavors where so well constructed, that the meal was still recommendable without the pasta."

"This was my first time at City Grab and I absolutely loved it!! The food was great and the service was excellent!! One thing was better than the next. I was there celebrating my birthday and the waiter (who knew from the exclusive offer I received from the restaurant) brought out my dessert with a candle in it and even wrote "Happy Birthday" on the check. Everything was excellent and I will definitely be back."

"Had a very pleasant dining experience - actually much better than expected. The menu was extensive with so many delicious choices that made the final decision a little difficult. The food was exceptionally good. The crab cakes were highly recommended and it certainly did not disappoint. Very friendly and pleasant wait staff. Would definitely recommend and visit this establishment again."

"Our server was outstanding, friendly, helpful, patient and answered questions with full knowledge of the food and wine. I have been going here for 20 years (since they opened), however I moved to California 2 years ago, so I don't get to enjoy SC as much, but I did make it a point to take a friend and family this time because we always enjoyed it when we lived in the neighborhood. I was glad to see that (except for the prices, not a negative comment, everything has gone up over the last 4 years) it was still the same old wonderful place to eat fresh seafood."
