"Food was good, the portions were plenty, and the service was very attentive. The noise level was a little uncomfortable to old folks like us, but a good ace for families and the younger set."

"I took my friend out to dinner for her 40th birthday a few weeks ago...I like Jacksons because it has a fun atmosphere and good food. Our waiter Charlie was great...he was very friendly and knowledgeable and checked on us often even though it was very crowded. Our food was good but our dessert was GREAT...we had the french toast sundae and it was ridiculous! Jacksons made sure that my friend had a special birthday and we loved Charlie!!"

"Jackson's has become a fall back for us. Whether a Mom's Night Out, date night or a laid back dinner with the family. The food and service are always reliably good to great. The noise level is fine for small excited children (no crying or tantrums) without getting stares but, you can still hold a conversation with your table without any issues. The staff is always willing to make substitutions, salad and a soup from the combos instead of one plus a sandwich. Mother's Day Brunch was wonderful without being overblown. Who wants to spend $25 for a child to eat french toast? The drinks re strong but not, knock you down. They have trivia Thursdays which are fun the tables compete for gift cards. I have not had a bad experience."

"We went here for mother's day with a group of 7. The service was a little slow, but overall good. I had an omelet, which was pretty good, but I think the ones at my local diner are much better. Since I didn't have any thing off their lunch menu I can't comment on their regular food. Biggest complaint (as others have mentioned) was the noise level. You could barely hear the person sitting next to you, forget across the table. Must be the acoustics in the place."

"Been here many times. Service has taken a step back the last few times. Food ranges from good to very good. Commack area beginning to see new restaurants open up so it will be interesting to see how the ones that have been here a while react to the new competition. If you have kids and want a nice meal Jackson's is still a great option....just need to tighten up the service a little."

"The food was so-so. The table was under a vent that blew either cold or hot air... we asked for it to be regulated 3 or 4 times. Then the waitress seemed annoyed that we asked for the check to be adjusted... she overlooked the fact that one of the meals were part of their advertised special for 24.95... instead she lectured my guest that he should have told her that when the order was placed. I wonder if that's because we got normal dinner sized portion and not a "price-fixed" size???"

"Sunday night dinner to celebrate my son's birthday with family. Waited 45 minutes for food that luke warm. Suprised hamburgers and steak would take so long. Steak garlic steak fries are large overdone potato wedges sprinkled with parmesan cheese. Service ok but no effort to recognize my son's birthday."

"Jacksons is always hit or miss. I got the prime rib drip sandwich and I smelled the overcooked reheated meat the second it hit the table. It was not pink at all, and just didn't taste fresh. I took most of the meat out and ate it anyway--bread was good. It took over an hour after we finished apps to get our food. We get it, Saturday nights are busy--so what, sandwiches and burgers shouldn't take an hour. Then they cleared 2 plates the second our friends put down their forks and the rest of us were still eating. I hate when places do that. The staff was very friendly and courteous. Overall, it was ok. I wish the food was better, b/c we'd definitely go more often."

"Suffice it to say, we were seated one hour after our reservation time. The food was not cooked as ordered, I.e. two dishes were ordered well done and were not. Overall, the quality and taste of the food was mediocre at best. The restaurant was very crowded, noisy and chaotic and there was no manager to be seen. The hostess was pleasant and was trying very hard."

"I had dry baby back ribs, cesar salad was very salty and the burgers tasted like they were grilled out back on a gas grill. Very disappointed with the food and we were a group of 8. Service was ok but given the size group, should have been better attended to . On arrival ppl were waiting for tables, we had a reservation through open table and the manager explained to the ppl waiting that two large random groups came in before them so give him a few minutes to deal with them (this means us!) Will never return and never recommend. Probably the worse experience I have ever had at a restaurant."

"Made a reservation days in advance for 7pm for 7 people, received a call confirming the reservation. Arrived 10 minutes prior and were told the other party was finishing up. Patiently waited in the crowded front door area while literally being pushed into the open door of the coat closet (small 2 seater bench was all that is offered for seating). When we followed up regarding our table, the hostess said to us "It's only 5 minutes after 7"--REALLY?! I can understand it's a busy night, but you do not treat your customers this way. Why did we make a reservation then and have them call us to reconfirm, only to be told what time it is. RUDE!! We were finally seated at 7:15. The waiter was very courteous, food was good, way too noisy thou."

"First time I went there... An excellent find. Three of us went for lunch and stayed through happy hour. Food, beverages and staff were uniformly good. Definitely a go-back- to place for me."
