"Initially I booked this reservation because I was staying at the Fairmont, but WOW! The food and service were both stellar and I can certainly see why they have a Michelin star. I started with the sweetbreads and scallops...possibly the most perfectly cooked scallop I've ever eaten. Then on to the stuffed rabbit loin! Words cannot describe the presentation and flavor that I enjoyed. I eat rabbit often and must say I've never had the rack of rabbit ribs on my plate...impressive. This meal was so lovely that I indulged in a rare dessert order. The chocolate purse...OMG! To die for...if you love warm chocolate inside a crisp, delicate shell of pastry. I would not only recommend this restaurant but I'm thinking of how I can get back myself."

Review 2 for Santé at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn
"We have been to Sante a few times before and decided to go for a Mother's Day brunch. It was a buffet and, in order to squeeze in as many people as possible, the serving lines were in the lobby -- hardly elegant. The food was typical buffet line food. Good, but nothing extraordinary. What was extraordinary was the price. The bill for two of us, with one glass of wine each, was over $270.00.
The value simply was not there for the price."

Review 3 for Santé at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn
"My wife and I celebrated our anniversary there. The dining room is quite elegant. Our reservation was handled graciously and on-time. The food was truly outstanding. The shortcoming was in the quality of service. Our waiter read us the whole menu (unnecessary). Our entries took about 45 minutes to be served. There was confusion in the order taking between the Maitr'd and our waiter. However, to the credit of the staff, they had only be open for 2 weeks since their remodel. Perhaps they had not had enough time to communicate and execute as a team."

Review 4 for Santé at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn
"The restaurant was just re-opened after remodeling. Our table was quite dark, romantic but hard to see the menu. We brought our own wine , which they quickly took from the table but didn't bring it back for 1/2 hour. The servers were very nice. After what seemed like a long time our salads arrived, there was a mix-up in my order so we had to wait again. The food was pricey, delicious, very fancy and presented beautifully. I ordered the Chocolate souffle at the beginning because they said it takes a while to prepare. We waited 45 minutes after our meal was over for the dessert. They apologized, offered us a cheese plate, etc. I would give the restaurant another chance because the food was very good but I hope they improve the service."

Review 5 for Santé at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn
"I expected the portions to be small but I did not expect the quality of food to be so bad. The cold pea soup with foam was not even edible. It tasted like salt water. The lobster and octopus were both very tough. The bass was not well seasoned and was very bland. One of the biggest disappointments of the night was the mac and cheese with lobster. This had had such great ratings I wanted to try it. It is no longer on the menu but the server was able to have it made. It was the absolute worse mac and cheese I have ever had. We had the chocolate souffle which again was such a let down. The molten lava cake at Chili's is better than this. I would never go to Sante's restaurant again and would highly suggest not going there."

Review 7 for Santé at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn
"We purchased a Groupon for Sante, so were informed when we arrived that, instead of the three-course meal as advertised, we had credit for $150 towards the menu. Tables were close together and acoustics bad, so it was very, very noisy, Service efficient and courteous but not special. Food was beautifully presented but lacking in flavor and extremely expensive. Groupon a glass of wine, an appetizer, entree and a shared dessert. Overall an adequate experience but nothing special and expensive - and not holding a candle to dining at Cyrus (please come back, Cyrus!)"

Review 8 for Santé at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn
"We were there on a Groupon and had been anticipating an outstanding meal. While most of the food was fine, it just didn't measure up to the hype. The striped bass was good, and it was nice to see rabbit on the menu. The starter of risotto was average, and the dessert of donut holes was not good. But, the service was terrific due to an excellent waitress. We had wanted to go at 7 or 7:30, but were told we could only come at 6:30. It turns out a large party came in about 7:30 and took up about 1/4 of the space, but many tables remained empty all night. They should have been able to accomodate our request. This is an expensive place and should have been better."

Review 9 for Santé at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn
"Very expensive, remodel is stark rather than reflective of Sonoma County ambiance. Likewise, the winelist featured Napa over Sonoma and the food was not reflective of the fresh, wonderful bounty found in Sonoma County. With that said, though overpriced the food was well prepared and beautifully presented."

Review 10 for Santé at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn
"Recently remodeled. The physical changes are lovely. The menu has been redone as well (prices increased as well). We are locals who have been here many times over the past 15 years. The service was very good, although we felt the server mentioned "Chef Cain" way too many times. The menu and food presentation has become very pretentious and really left us feeling cold. The food was creative and tasty but was presented in an extremely minimalist fashion. Chef Cain is a terrific chef and it's too bad they felt the need to turn Sonoma Wine Country into feeling like NYC."

Review 18 for Santé at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn
"Just opened after remodeling and the food was fantastic. The remodeling isn't quite finished so the atmosphere was...not complete but they are getting there. The tasting menu is a great way to experience a wide range of flavors for a set price. The wine list was pretty good, as it should be in CA Wine Country, but the food was stand-out flavorful and artistic. This is definitely a place to go for foodies, no question. The service was superb and flawless. I never say that and it was - so kudos to Sante on their new opening!"

Review 19 for Santé at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn
"Sante just reopened and what a change. The food and service were outstanding. The sommelier was incredible at assisting in our wine selections. Rivals our previous experiences at La Toque in Napa. Will definitely return."
