"With the food pretty good, the service friendly and the scene pretty, why was our experience only "fair" (This was our second visit). The menu was much more limited and did not feel like a good value.
We eat at lots of expensive restaurants and don't mind spending over $100 per person (without wine) when we get excellent food whose quality and quantity correspond to the prices. This was not the case here. Ice filled Mai Tais with no discernable taste of rum, the steak ($38) thin & small--belonged at Norms. The cauliflower appetizer filled one spoon. The fish wouldn’t have suffered giving up our tiny piece of flesh. Even without ordering shared appetizers and sides, we each added up the check with incredulity."

"Good hipster fun. The low ceilinged glow-y interior feels like a cross between a space ship and a submarine, with a great view of the kidney shaped pool outside. Sunday night was quiet, and we were greeted warmly by our hostess who led us to an outside table overlooking the pool. Service was excellent, as were our cocktails. Salad and cauliflower soufflé were delicious but my wife found her spaghetti undercooked and her langostino a little tough and my lamb pappardelle suffered from chewiness too. OUr friends shared a margherita pizza with potato in the crust which was terrific.Dessert, chocolate chip cookies and an incredible cream topping was addictive. Not the most memorable meal we've ever had, but well worth the trip."

"Delightful restaurant at the Avalon Hotel. The mood is great, with half the restaurant inside and half outside by the pool. The food was very good and creative. The service was attentive but not outstanding. I'd recommend the restaurant for a fun night out."

"i loved the location of this place and the complimentary valet was awesome. I only give their service a 2star because, there was no waiter that served us until I asked for one. I mean i such a fancy restaurant, they should have waiters and waitresses there to always ask what we need. Once a waitress was given to us, she was nice but I was already turned off. We ordered pizza, prime rib and a pasta dish. I forgot what the pasta was called but it wasn't great. I love pasta that is cooked al dente but this one just tasted weird, it was in between hard pasta and weird chewy pasta. Everything else was great but I wish their menu described how the dishes were and which sides were included with them. Overall, the ambiance was beautiful."

"This restaurant is nicely located in a Beverly Hills boutique hotel; which in itself adds charm. The restaurant and bar incircle a beautifully lit swimming pool which makes for a romantic dining (particularly in the evening) experience. The waiting and host staff was very attentive as well as congenial. The menu was somewhat escletic and therefore the meal choices was not too limited. The food was nicely prepared, presented and timely served
Overall, this was a very enjoyable dining experience and most suprisingly; reasonably priced based on the ambiance and location. Definetly a great romantic date location, particularly if you can get a table next to the glass window overlooking the lit pool."
