Da Marino serves traditional authentic Italian cuisine featuring Chef Massimo's Northern Italian dishes and Chef Pasquale's Southern Italian cooking. Upon entering the restaurant you feel that you are in an old Italian villa overlooking the Mediterranean through balcony windows and terrace. The restaurant was created and designed by Chef and Owner Pasquale and painted by Italian artist Davide Rodoquino. We offer live piano music every evening.
"The restaurant was very elegant both inside and out. The food was very delicious and the piano man is a nice touch to the setting. However, some of the employees were yelling and giving cold stares at each other over petty issues. It was unprofessional and very distracting. They didnt even acknowledge customers hearing them or aplogize. Overall, it was nice and I would return, but probably not anytime soon."

"Food was good but overpriced. Atmosphere was quaint in the middle of Times Square. Service was great almost too attentive. Very convenient location for pre-show dinner."

"I booked DaMarino before a show with my family. The food was very good. I don't usually complain about prices if the food is good however $30.00 for a plate of fried calamari was a bit much. The ceasar salad was good but for $18.00 we were hoping it was going to be out of this world and made in front us! it was slighty soggy. the rest of our dishes were very good but pricey for a bowl of pasta!!!!!! Sorry. Great service!"

"This restaurant has a great ambience, starting with the outside entrance. They have a piano player who brings the live music beat to the evening. I found all the employees to be top notch, from the bartender, hostess, manager, and waiters. They were attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good. It's a tad bit on the expensive side, even for the Manhattan area. I think the prices is what keeps me from giving it a 4 star rating. Besides that, it's a great choice!"

"$40.00 for a plate of pasta???!!?! I went here because they are supposedly from the same region in Italy as my parents. So, I expected really good food. The bolognese sauce was bitter and unseasoned and the homemade papardelle were over cooked. The place is absolutely overpriced and underwhelmed with the food. There are much nicer Italian restaurants in the theatre district with better food and much better service. I will never go back."

"My wife had been to this resturant before and we were hoping for a good experience however this was not the case my friend had the lobster and it was supposed to be shelled however it was half the portion and still had pieces of shell in it we ordered drinks and they brought them out wrong three times the waiter was obnoxious and more concerned about some show they were taping at the table next to us which was shining a big light at our table during dinner. They did nor let us know this was going on and seemed to have the whole staff very distracted. Needless to say we would not recommend nor will we go back."

"Totally charmed by the ambiance - the restaurant is cozy and beautiful from the entrance to the ladies' room (a candlelit grotto!). The special I had - sea bass - had an incredibly light and delicious lemony sauce served with asparagus and spinach. The fish was deboned expertly table side. I found it to be perfectly cooked. My friend very much enjoyed her shrimp and penne dish. The waiters were Italian (yay), attentive and very friendly. I'll consider this a new favorite in the time Square area."

"Far, far too expensive especially give that we were going to a show that evening. The ambiance is a bit "cheaply" manufactured with the painting of the walls and the tables are too close together. The service was highly proactive and responsive but to the point of slightly bothersome and rushed. The food was good though the amount on any one plate could have fed a family of four. They would do well to reduce the volume, reduce the price, and take tables out. This is a restaurant that, if you go to, you'll go once as there is not enough to draw you a second time and New York has so much to offer in choice. My feelings of this restaurant are not too dissimilar from other restaurants in the theater district albeit the price stood out."

"This is truly a GREAT New York Italian restaurant! BUT!! If you are not part of the 1% or are lucky enough to be on an unlimited per-diem expense account the delicious satisfaction from the food will turn into heartburn on the way out. That being said, this is truly a taste of 5-star dining. From the styrofoam box delivered to the kitchen and minutes later de-boned table side for the party beside us to the feeling that the wait staff was only serving your table, to the BEST coffee I have ever tasted post meal the meal was delicious. We had one crab cake appetizer (great) one Caesar salad (HUGE), one creamy, melt in your mouth shrimp creation and one chicken parmesan (again, HUGE) and one coffee. Tax and 20% tip was over $200. Enjoy!"

"I was very happy that my request was honored and we were seated in Carrie & Big's table. The service was great and the food delicious and abundent. My only complaint was that the main waiter just assumed to make the appetizers Family Style (doubling the cost)and we had WAY TOO MUCH food and going to the theather after dinner made for alot of waste that we needed to pay for. The prices are moderate to slightly high. The specials were recited to us with no prices and my husband ordered the Veal OsoBuco which was $55, though tender and delicious, even with the aviance it was a bit pricey. I would still recommend you experience this restraunt and Ladies DO NOT skip the ladies room, truly a place to experience!"

"The food was good for the most part (but nothing amazing) and the place is interesting. However, while the service was friendly it was bad and it is way overpriced. I'm a New Yorker and was grudgingly accepting of an expected tourist markup given the location, but I would say a conservative estimate is that it is probably 30-40% above what you would expect to pay at a comparable or better restaurant. That's a lot."

"This was our first time at Da Marinos. It was also our 38th wedding anniversary. It was a great ending to a wonderfull day in New York. The pianno added a romantic touch that is not common in the restaurants we frequent. Although the pianist sung very well and accepted requests, the singing waiter was a welcome surprise. A superb evening. W.A.C."

"Da Marino combines it all. Food is as good as it gets. Portions are generous and prices are very reasonable. You can spend twice as much in other NYC Italian restaurants and get half as much to eat of lesser quality food. The wait staff is at your beck and call without seeming intrusive. The food presentation is so attractive you almost don't want to disturb it, until you catch the aromas and then you can't resist. Early diners are treated to a piano bar singer, followed by the musical groups who pick up after the piano singer ends. No one hurries you. You feel very comfortable relaxing over an after dinner Lemoncello or capucchino. My wife and I try to schedule dinner here every time we are in the city."

"My husband received a Bloomspot certificate for $60 worth of dinner and drinks at Da Marino. We had a pleasant evening at the restaurant. The carafe of wine was generous as were the food portions. The food itself was good too. However, it was insanely overpriced. I ordered a one of the evening's specials and it turned out to be a $55 pasta dish. I understand that the location (Times Square/Theatre district) takes its toll on menu prices, but we spent a lot more money than we wanted to. Though the food, ambiance and live piano player were all enjoyable, we probably will not return to Da Marino. Instead, we'll stick to the much more affordable Daniela's on 8th ave... even without a discount certificate."

"This restaurant had very cool entrace in theme with and upbeat italian theme. we were greeted by a young man in costume outside as a nice touch. the place was energectic, nice atmosphere and we felt our particular waiter was good with others helping. This is close to all the theaters and a great venue. BUT be prepared to spend money. The dinner with appetizer and I think three drinks (no bottles) was surprisly expensive compared to our nights out at a Ruth Chris, Fleming's or any upper end local restaurant that you might find in a magazine."

"The service is attentive and outstanding, and the food delicious, but it ought to be at the extremely high prices!! The web site carefully omits this fact, so beware. Main courses (not steak) at $55 and soup at $17, no appetizer less than $24. Although everything was delicious, especially the made-one-hour-ago tasting mozzarella cheese, it is too pricey for anything but a special occasion in my view."

"My husband and I recieved a gift certificate for DaMarinos, so we decided to use it for lunch before going to a play. When I looked at the website, they had a lot of interesting different entree selections, so I was looking forward to our visit. When we arrived, the lunch menu was extremely and disappointedly limited. I had the bruschetta for appetizer which was mediocre. I would have expected better bread from an Italian restaurant in NYC. We waited for over 45 min for our entrees as we watched those around us finishing thier meals. The couple next to us commented on thier way out that they couldn't believe that we were still waiting! My chicken parmagiano was ok. My husband's recieced two small pieces of tough, fatty veal."
