"We made our reservation for the two of us for 8pm. We arrived at 8 and were seated immediately.
We requested a table near the flamenco performers, the sat us right next them.
The menu is always excellent and many dishes are ideal for splitting between two people.
All the menu is delicious. Their margaritas are the best! The service was top notch.
The manager and the owner both stopped by to say hello. That was very nice. They are both genuinely nice and friendly people.
We return to Ortega 120 the first Friday of each month to see the flamenco performances. The musicians and dancers are talented and professional. You would have to pay to see this type of performance in downtown Los Angeles, but it's free at Ortega 120.

"Pretty fun and hip restaurant with good (actually, a bit loud) energy. The appetizers were yummy. Loved the spicy salsas but the food was WAY too salty. I found myself guzzling water like crazy throughout the night!"

"Ortega 120 is one of my favorite Mexican Restaurants in the world. They take traditional Mexican dishes, and put a very new age, high cuisine spin on it. I feel like they make Mexican as good as you can. We love the Albondigas in Mole, huge meatballs in a very rich mole sauce. We also think their Queso Fondido with Chorizo is out of this world. I also think it is one of the best Carne Asada Burritos I have had. But it really comes down to the best Chili Rellenos you will find! Hands down.
What issues are you going to have, sometimes they miss their cue. The food might sit for a while and come out cold. That happened on this trip, and it was too bad, kind of put a damper on the meal. I have also had great deserts and bad deserts"

"Everyone in the group agreed that whatever they ordered was the best they have ever had. Brother's tacos were the best ever. Mom's fish was the best ever. My carnitas were to die for. Their margaritas are unmatched. Service was just as wonderful as the food. Definitely give this place a try. I will be coming back for sure, many many times."

"I finally stepped out of my box &!enjoyed fully those St. Louis mole ribs. WOW!! Very moist & flavorful! My cousin had the enchiladas Rojas with rib meat, and she swooned over it! She's from Arizona, and said she will most def return with her family. Our server Carlos was very fun, I had never seen him before, since imma frequent diner here. I always keep returning here because it's a very vibrant & fun place to dine."

"Not your typical So Cal tex mex spot. This is a place worth seeking out if for nothing else but their tequila list that boasts of 120 offerings!. In addition to that they have a menu with a variety of interesting slightly upscale items such as barrio tacos, several salsas, etc. The environment is eclectic and somewhat celebretory with displays honoring the dead scattered around, large format tables to the rear of hte restaurant and a wall screen projection adding an interesting video touch to the dining room (during our dinner we were watching old Elvis movies). The sound level is moderately loud and the environment is active with a dining room that also contains a fairly busy bar so be forewarned."

"The food is always pretty good at Ortega 120, but our service was not on this visit. Didn't get drink order taken until 20 min after being seated, and food came out luke warm (not hot), so I just don't think our server was on top of things that night. Have had good service here before."

The entree portions are pretty big so take that into consideration when ordering appetizers. There are a lot of great apps so it's hard not to get a lot and then you'll end up taking the majority of your entree home."

"We love this place, we only wish it were closer to us, because there is nothing like it in Long Beach. This is one of our favorite mexican spots becasue the food is authentic and good. BEST margaritas ever (and I dont like tequilla)!! The music is great (live) with dancing for those more talented than I am at salsa! They always have an old movie playing on the big screen (which we love too). It is noisy but thats because there are a lot of people there from all different age groups and music playing!"

"I love Ortega 120. The food is fresh and consistently delicious. We love the beef dishes like carne asada and the short ribs tacos. The fish is great. I usually have the tilapia which is great. Their margaritas are to die for! The churros and donuts are excellent with the various dipping sauces. On Saturday nights they have had live music which is lovely as well. I would just say you should not be too near the music or your own conversations will be drowned out."

"This is our 2nd trip to Ortega 120, since we so enjoyed our first time! This was a party for my Mom's 80th, and since we were a party of 6, they put us in the "modified indoor from outdoor" area. Thankfully my Mom got to sit next to the fire pit, so she was warm. The positive was it was quieter, so we could share & talk more. My mexican shrimp on my caesar salad was way salty, inedible, however our server comped me a dessert, which I wasn't going to get, but I had it to go for my Mom as it looked like yummy chocolate cake. Indeed, deserts looked very festive! Mom got the "three little flans" dish. They also gave her a cute mini desert with a candle to celebrate the occasion! In closing, enjoyed ourselves, but maybe create an inside place."

"I love the decor of the restaurant, it has a dia de los muertos theme going to it. There are old movies on a projector screen, the bar is great, good place to catch a game, the bar is good. They are known for their tequila, they have tons of tequila so if you like tequila I recommend this places. They have delicious home made margaritas! And they serve pitchers of margaritas which is great for large groups!"

"Nice local place. Lots of drinks to choose from and they seem to encourage everyone to try them. However I didn’t try any so can’t vouch for the quality. The food is delicious, but don’t plan on having an intimate conversation it’s so loud you can’t hear the music. I think they have some music playing. I enjoyed the old movie that is projected on one wall. That is a fun touch. Service was a bit slow at first, but when we finally had a waiter take our table he was very nice and helpful."
