"This was a special meal. For the main course, I had the apple and sausage stuffed porchetta with mostarda di cremona and peperonata on top of the porchetta on a bed of butternut squash puree. It was plated in a elegant way and I was surprised at how well the different components complented each other. It was outstanding and the wait staff was very fast and helpful."

"We go to Notti Bianchi prior to a Kennedy center program, as I suspect many people do. The food is creative, fresh and good and the wines by the glass are delightful. I highly recommend the restaurant for every occasion - including just a night out for dinner - well worth it."

"Our second trip here. The food was once again very good. The service was hit or miss. Our primary waiter, Gregory, was fine - friendly, well informed. However, others on staff attended our table. I don't know if Gregory wasn't covering well - or if this was the plan of the restaurant. Either way, the other person was gruff and very curt. When he poured our second glass of wine, it was a much shorter pour than our first - and even the two glasses on the table didn't match up. He just couldn't be bothered to have words with us. This was surprising to us because on our first visit a month or so ago, we were especially impressed by the friendly and very informative waitress. This was a Friday night - so that might explain part of it."

"I have been to Notti Bianche about 4 years ago. I brought someone with me that had never been before. It was a fantastic find back then, it was even better now. The menu choices fit on one page, which is just perfect for this place. The different levels and flavor notes of the food are amazingly satisfying. We shared two entrees, since we couldn't decide what sounded better, a cheese plate and a bottle of wine. While the cheese plate was a bit small and the wine a bit higher priced than other restaurants, it was still an amazing dinner and evening. We will definitely be going back again and again."

"Great for a special Valentines Day occasion (ok, it was the day before V-Day but great nonetheless). Had a quiet side table for romance enhancement was private yet able to people watch. The ordered flowers were at the restaurant and on the table in the first 5 minutes of sitting down. The service was attentive but not bothersome. Started out with beef carpaccio lightly drizzeled in a mayo/mustard sauce covered with shavings of radish and Parmesan. My sweetheart had a house salad with a standard vin/oil. Entrees were different. Hers a very, very (too) hearty beef rizzoto and mine a perfect mussels and spicy sausage pappardelle. No desert or coffee but the Pommery champagne was all we needed."

"Excellent meal, we all had pasta dishes and were very pleased with the freshness and combinations of our meals. The waiter was very attentive but not to the point of being overbearing. We didn't need to ask for extras such as water, our glasses were always filled and our wine glasses never went empty. We were able to talk to one another without noise interruption. Very pleasant ambiance and experience."

"We enjoyed a wonderful night at Notti Bianche. We had a later dinner time, so the restaurant was sparsely populated, thus making it easy to carry on conversation. Our server was very helpful and speedy. When asked about a wine recommendation, he let us sample a few of his favorites and helped us select one that would go well with both of our dishes.
The food was excellent. My wife had the squash torellini in a brown sugar and butter sauce - it was like dessert AND dinner at the same time (a good thing). I had the tomato base soup (forget name) that included clams, shrimp, and fish. It was perfectly portioned and prepared to be filling but not too stuffing. The wine list was filled with Italian gems which complement any meal. Def. visit NB!"

"I don't have sufficient space to detail all nice things I have to say about Notti Bianche. We had excellent salads - the arugula Ceasar is splendid and huge - you can split it - and ordered off the daily specials. Had a superbly prepared cioppino and a pasta dish with pumpkin-butternut squash filling that was sublime. A shared mascarpone dessert, and very fine French Roast press coffee finished well. Room was exceptionally quite, but we arrived very early. Service was generally good and unobtrusive but missed on a few details. We'll be returning within the month and hope for a similarly good experience. This seems quite the place for pasta, as even its detractors tend to note. I've posted a much more detailed report on Chowhound."

"The food was very good, but the service was poor. We asked for hot tea after dessert and it was served cold. My companion got a plate she didn't ask for (it was replaced by the right one later). My most serious complain is about the bill: we were charged more than we had to pay. Luckily we noticed this and made the server aware of this fact. He then made another charge to our credit cards. In spite of the quality of the food, we left the place unhappy."

"very nice meal during restaurant week - extremely helpful and attentive wait staff - appetizer, entree and dessert were all well above average and interesting combinations - basic salad was also fine, if a bit overdressed - very convenient to Kennedy Center if you choose to walk from Foggy Bottom Metro - about 1/2 way in between and no more than a 5 or 10 minute walk from Metro to the restuarant and from restaurant to KC - we will definitely return."

"Not an experience I will repeat due to poor service. We chose Notte Bianchi because it is so close to the Kennedy Center, where we would be going after our meal. No waiter came to the table for perhaps 10 minutes after our arrival, then there was a long wait before our wine came. When my salad appetizer arrived there was no offer of pepper and my date's soup did not arrive until 10' later when I finally flagged down the Maitre D'. The waiter attemted to compensate by offering a glass of lousy Primitivo that was a big step down from the wine we had ordered. Perhaps they were just understaffed that night but I wouldn't take the risk. The food was very ordinary with no more expensive ingredients at prices where one should expect more."

"We ate at Notti Bianche before going to a Kennedy Center performance and chose it because it sounded romantic and relatively close by. In fact, we didn't see any other restaurants at all in the immediate area and were pleased with the short distance between the two and the helpful short-cut our excellent waiter told us about. The space was low ceilinged and looked as if it may have once been a garage. Unfortunately, every time the door opened a blast of cold air came in and hit our legs despite being seated about as far from the door as we could have been. Our table was next to the computer and had a view of a parking lot/hotel entry. Definitely not romantic! But, the food was delicious and well presented and we would go back again."

"We had told the waiter that we were going to a show at the Kennedy Center. He did a perfect job of making sure that we ordered on time. The food came in plenty of time for us to dine in a leisurely way. Although we only had an hour to eat, we did not feel rushed at all. We were able to leave our car parked with the valet and walk to the Kennedy Center. The food was very good; nice presentation as well. We would go back, especially if we are in the area to see a show at the Kennedy Center."

"Great little Italian restaurant that's easy walking distance to the Kennedy Center. Some recent additions to the modest menu are welcome, but we have many favorites that we go back to regularly. Very nice wine list complements the food well and has a good range of prices. Service is pleasant and can be quick if necessary to catch a show, but you don't feel rushed."

"One in our party enjoyed the $35 pre-fix menu, while the remainder of our group selected from the other options available. No one was disappointed. Loved the drinks from their seasonal cocktail menu. They made sure that our car was waiting for us in a timely fashion so that we could get to the Kennedy Center on time. Our waiter, Carlos was excellent."

"I guess I'm spoiled in Santa Fe. I thought Notti Bianche was good but nothing to write home about. Wooden tables, no tablecloths, wine not special, OK food... and I took the Metro in from Chantilly, VA to be there, having outsize memories of restaurants in the Georgetown area."

"We occasionally dine at Notti Bianche before attending performances at the Kennedy Center because it is one of the very few restaurants within walking distance.Although its menu hasn't changed in years, the same dish has been fine sometimes, and other times not well prepared. Our most recent experience was not pleasant, in that our waiter, who seemed to be the only server on duty, 1.) walked away from our table while being addressed, 2.) TWICE poured one of our party Pinot Grigio when Pinot Noir had been requested, and 3.) when we has ordered our entrees in plenty of time ( 5:45!), he delivered them to our table at 6:45, so late that we had to leave the restaurant without dessert or coffee and sprint to the theater for a 7:30 curtain."

"Our table was not ready at 6:30, as we had requested. We had also asked for a table with 4 chairs, but were disappointed when we were shown to bench-type seating with nothing else available. The restaurant ran out of Stoli for our martinis and was out of the dessert we wanted. When we were there previously, the olives (appetizer, $5) were heated with herbs and orange peel and spices; Friday we were just given a small bowl of room temperature olives. The waiter had to be asked twice to remove the excessive glassware from our table; the table was small and we each had a drink glass and a water glass. After we finished our first drink, there were 8 extra glasses on our table with little room to pass bread, olives, or the bagna cauda."
