"Thanks to the great food and service, our evening here was wonderful. The Tagliatele and the FLank steak and pork chops were awesome!! The special Grouper was very good but a bit lighter on flavor; not as amazing as the steak and pasta. The tuna tartare and spring roll appetizers were also excellent! the tartare in particular had a great presentation and flavor! Best of all, this was a small wedding celebration for a small group of 6 and the initimate feel of the restaurant along with the most amazing service from Keith made the night a wonderful evening to remember!"

"At first we walked right by this place..it's actually in the lobby of a hotel so I had that awful feeling of being duped into eating hotel food. The service at brunch seemed tentative and inexperienced--we heard at least three crashes caused by dropped glasses and dishes. The food was good, and the menu is appealing."

"The area near enough to the Kennedy Center for pre-event meals is rather short in acceptable restaurants, so DISH+drinks was a nice surprise. The dining room is very small and shares the space with a bar with TVs playing, so the ambiance is less than perfect, but the food and service made up for that. Early, before a show or concert, it was relatively quiet and not overfull. The evening's special of soft-shell crabs were perfectly cooked and the homemade tagliatelli with a fresh tomato sauce was also excellent. The waiter was attentive, but not intrusive and we finish in plenty of time to saunter to the Kennedy Center for an 8:00 PM concert by the NSO."

"The food and service were excellent. I would definitely go back to try some of the other entrees. The portions were large and the food was delicious. I had the tagliatelle with Italian sausage and my date had the pork chop. We shared the beignets with ice cream for dessert and they were very good as well."

"First said, I am a former F & B mgr and may be a bit more critical than the average customer, so take my review in context. The food was average for the $,but service seemed a bit thin. Our server (or was he the owner?) was behind the bar more than overseeing service - needed to catch his eye too many times. Many at our table sat with empty glasses for too long. The Halibut special was a little disappointing - slightly overcooked and vegetable mélange was neither hot nor freshly cooked. The tuna tartare would have been a home run, with a perfectly ripe avocado and beautiful crustini, unfortunately the tuna was lacking freshness. On a more positive note, the scallop entre looked outstanding, and the steak dish looked and tasted very good."

"I have been to DISH + Drinks many times and while I am sad that some of their stellar dishes have been cycled off the menu, the food is still very good. Our waitress who has served us before ( I should find out her name) was very responsive and gave us excellent service."

"Place was small but service was EXCELLENT!!! The bartender made great drink recommendations. The food wasn't as hot as expected but that may have been to my friend and I taking our time eating our apps and drinking the great drinks. It wasn't too noisy so i could hear the conversation between my friend and I but not the table next to us. I'd go again."

"DISH+drinks is the small restaurant (~40 seats) off the lobby of a small hotel in a residential neighborhood, 3 blocks from the Kennedy Center and 3 blocks from the Foggy Bottom metro. Modern furniture and William Wegman weimaraner photos set a contemporary atmosphere. My wife and I had lunch here on Easter, before attending a ballet performance at the Kennedy Center. The service was friendly and efficient, and we had plenty of time to walk to the Kennedy Center. My wife ordered the grilled salmon, which was a nice thick strip cooked perfectly (light grill marks, cooked through, yet still very moist). I ordered the eggs benedict with crab meat, which was also cooked perfectly with a good hollandaise sauce."

"5 of is went to Dish - my 19-yr-old college student and his roommate, my 21 yr-old daughter and her boyfriend, and me. We ordered free range chicken, rib eye (3), and tuna as entrees - spring rolls, soup of the day, fried green tomatoes, and caesar salad as appetizers. Everything was delicious. The service was very good, and they seated us on time. We also used the $6 valet parking as there were no spots on the street. Total for the meal including iced tea for 2 of us and wine for 3 of us (total of 5 glasses) was $229."

"Located in River Inn hotel near GWU campus. Bartender/server Keith is an excellent host, great wine and food recommendations. Generous portion of fresh shellfish in the house-made pasta dish. Very good apple beignet."

"The space is a combined bar/dining room. It was a Friday night. All the tables were booked with a large party. The bar was packed as well. I guess you could call the noise level "energetic" as long as you define that as extremely loud so much so that it was difficult to hold a conversation. So if that is high on your lists of considerations in terms of overall dining experience, then you should choose another restaurant because there is nothing they can do to change that.
We have dined here on a weeknight as well and also as a pre-dinner for the Kennedy Center and the atmosphere is more bistro-esque and peaceable.
In terms of the kitchen, they try to deliver some creativity and put a respectable plate of food on the tabl"

"Great place to eat! Kind and knowledgable staff. Walking distance to metro and the Kennedy Center makes a perfect spot for a date. Enjoyed it and would go back. The only drawback is that it gets a bit loud (or at least it did the night we were there)."

"Five of us enjoyed a great meal before heading to the Kennedy Center for a show. As we had an early reservation, we were not rushed at all and had wonderful service that was very personable and efficient, plus the food was great. The beet salad was especially delicious. For the main course, one person remarked that his pork chop was the best he had ever had; the flatiron steaks of two others were cooked as ordered, and to perfection. The wine selection was good. The restaurant is located in a small hotel in the Foggy Bottom neighborhood, within walking distance to Metro and the Kennedy Center."

"The food was okay, the service a bit abrupt (one of the servers seemed to have no idea about how to place plates on a table and reeked of cigarette smoke)."

"We did not realize that the restaurant was inside the River Inn. There is valet parking, but not a sign for it. The ambiance inside is not as inviting as the pictures online. We almost walked out, but stayed and it was a nice meal, not great, but good. Service was good, albeit sarcastic server at times. Had the lamb (very tasty and tender, even though was cooked past temp), scallops (too watery), and the pork chop (server didn't take a temp); however enjoyed. Also had the mussels (small yet good) and duck spring rolls (very good). Wine selection was OK, cocktail starters were good, although a menu would be helpful instead of making it up for us. The chocolate souffle is not a souffle, rather a flourless cake--please change the name."

"We would certainly go back especially for the pre theater fixed price dinner from 5 to 7. The main courses were delicious and carefully wrought but the apple beignet was not worth the calories. Very quiet and perfect setting for a valentine dinner."

"its a hotel restaurant with typical service. cool name, but food was mediocre, had none of the drinks we wanted (and they were not exotic - things like "Makers Mark" were missing from their bar...) it was a horrible experience"

"Food was excellent, and the service was really good. A little tight on space, and we were there early, so couldn't comment on the late-night ambiance. The portions were a good size; nobody left hungry that's for sure. Would recommend DISH+Drinks, and we will certainly go there agin when we visit the Kennedy Center (only 5 minute walk away)."
