"Had such high hopes for this place. Classic steakhouse but just not up to today's standards. Everything just a bit off. Steak not as good as it should be for the price. Not a good smell in the restaurant. Might try it again---but not likely."

"Service was great, food came out in good timing with the salads. Small filet tasty, tend to undercook, I like my steak med. rare so I ordered it medium and it was perfect. Salad big enough to share but was swimming in dressing. Bar tends to get a little loud but you there are tables far enough away that was not a problem."

"Before you order, note that the portions are enormous. As to the review, we have been to Monty's several times and this was, by far, the best. I made a seating request in my Open Table reservation and we were seated exactly where we wanted to be. The service was excellent. We prefer to take a couple of hours to dine and the waiter adapted to our pace immediately. The food came out hot and delicious. I actually ordered the sand dabs (in a steak house, I know, I know) and they were the best I've ever had. It was a quiet evening so the noise level was low, which we appreciated. A piano player at the far end of a different room added a very nice touch. Looking forward to returning."

"The waiter at Monty's was fantastic. I wish I could say the food was too. We ordered the shrimp Monty for our appetizer, $20, and I laughed when it came out. It was 3 pieces of bacon wrapped shrimp in a deep pool of butter. And a piece of cheesy garlic bread that had so much cheese on it you couldn't even see the bread. I took one bite of the shrimp and really wish I could have spit it out. The shrimp was so tough and the bacon was so fatty and chewy. But literally all I could taste was the excessive amount of butter it was all soaked in. The entrees didn't get any better. And our bill was $189. So disappointing."

"Most of the food was good, although my steak was over cooked which surprised me. Service was excellent. However I was not expecting them to have such a large bar area. The bar was packed and it was noisy. Just because of that, I will most likely not return. Also I feel the dinner prices are on the high side for this place as I feel is mostly all bar....ambiance is just not great for fine dining."
