Blue is comfortably located close to home in the North Hills at Duncan Manor Plaza. Blue features fine dining cuisine in a unique upscale, relaxed atmosphere. Whether you choose the Chilean Sea Bass or the Filet Mignon, our menu is sure to please anyone's palette. Blue offers a full bar with over 40 vodkas to compliment an extensive martini list. The wine menu is comprised of special order wines to compliment your dining experience. We feature Pittsburgh's finest jazz Divas, including Etta Cox and Michelle Benson to name a few, live on Tuesday evenings starting at 8:00 p.m. Happy Hour is offered Tuesday through Saturday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

"We had a very enjoyable dining experience.
Corn chowder and scallop soup was excellent as was the lobster risotto.
Main course of duck breast and scallops were also very good.
They appeared to be short staffed for a Sunday evening.
The good to that was we had a leisurely dinner.
Our waitress was very good in covering more territory than she probably normally would have.
We are looking forward to going back soon"

"The service was very slow and there restaurant was not busy. The waitress was friendly but I think the kitchen broke down. I ordered theduck

"My husband and I came for dinner on a Sunday night. They were not too busy. Silver palm wine was very good. I had sea bass with rice and asparagus. It was very good. My husband had filet which he liked. The beet salad was very good as was the fruit cobbler dessert (we added vanilla ice cream)."

"We had never dined here before. We found the restaurant to be very nice. The restaurant is directly connected to the bar and thus was a bit noisy. Service was very good as was the food. It is a bit pricy, but not overly so."

"This place is a gem hidden away in a strip mall. Don't judge it by its location-- the food rivals top Downtown Pittsburgh restaurants. Our waitress, a bubbly character, was super helpful and knowledgable about the food. She gave perfect recommendations and was present but not hovering!"

"I would have rated higher but the service was beyond bad from our waitress.The bartender we dealt with upon arrival was awesome and professional.He was on top of his game and very accomodating to our arrival. After our drinks at the bar the evening quickly crashed.Our waitress basically ignored our table.I am not one to nit pick and I don't feel I am a professional food critique but I do know what bad service looks and feels like:No check backs,icetea came and had to ask for sugar,sugar came and had to ask for straw, had to flag down for refills,wrong appetizer brought to the table for one of my friends,long periods with no check backs, had to flag for desert and bill. BAD!!!"

"A nice surprise. We tend to frequent inexpensive to moderately priced establishments, and Blue falls above that. For us, therefore, it wouldn't be an every-week place to go. But the food and service were top notch, and Blue is so close to where we live. I'm sure another special occasion will cause us to return."

"Disappointed with the lack luster service. The wine list was slapped on our table by Simons who did not even turn and look. Our waiter was running around Like he barely had time . For that expensive food I want way better service. Food wasn't exceptional. Overpriced.

"Went for Easter Brunch. Food was OK - eggs benedict had hard muffins and sauce had broken so it was not very good. Bacon and sausage was decent, waffles were a little cold and getting hard. Mini-quiche were obviously out of a box that I could have bought at Sam's club or Costco. Decided not to try other food if it was the same as what I had on my first plate. Not worth the $25. Would not recommend for brunch."

"Outstanding service, our waitress was very friendly and available. She provided us with excellent service. Was very helpful with our order and made us feel very welcome! Drinks were fantastic! The food was good, nothing spectacular or out of the ordinary. My seared ahi tuna main dish was incredibly salty, and I couldn't figure out why. Coffee was great, but desert was hard as a rock. The ambience was a bit noisier than expected for a romantic dinner, with the noise from the bar going throughout the restaraunt, but died down a bit once the crowd at the bar thinned out. Overall, great experience though because of the outstanding service!"

"I was looking for a gluten free menu that they don't have however I emailed the owner(email address on website) asking if he could help me find a few options. Honestly, I didn't think I'd get a reply but I did and it was a very nice one. It was a great, easy dining experience. Cute decor, lively, great food and cocktails. "In a group of 6 we had 5 different selections from the menu. All were tasty and well presented. Only problem was the noise. We were seated near the bar at TGIF time, which made conversation a bit difficult. There seemed to be more remote and more quite spaces of the restaurant unused, which would have been a better place for us, if inconvenient for the wait staff."

"Blue was recommended to me by a number of sources. I ordered an appetizer and their special entrée of the evening. Though I wasn’t in a hurry, the appetizer took 25 minutes to arrive and the entrée took an additional 30 minutes. The appetizer was great but the entrée (jumbo shrimp) was extremely overcooked and salty. I would recommend this place ONLY as a martini bar as the food is way overpriced for the quality."

"The food was outstanding and portion sizes were very generous. Tuna and salmon were both cooked perfectly, roasted red pepper soup had a great complex smoky flavor, and the drink list has something for just about anybody. The pace of service was just right as we were allowed to have a relaxed meal with time for conversation without being ignored and having to wait too long for anything. The only potential drawback is the noise level is a bit high so it could be bothersome to some people, but others would just find it a vibrant atmosphere. We did have to raise our voices to talk at the table, but we didn't have to yell. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and we plan on returning."

"We went to Blue to celebrate Valentine's Day and had a beautiful table in front of the fireplace. The ambience and food were outstanding. We started with bruschetta and calmari and both were done perfectly. For dinner, we tried the scallops and sea bass - again both were outstanding. The martinis and after dinner drinks were also excellent. The waiter was knowledgeable and very accommodating. We will definitely return to Blue in the future and recommend it to our friends."

One thing, and this may be a Pittsburgh-thing, was the disparity in customer attire. We went on a Saturday night and some customers were wearing dresses/business clothes (coats and ties), while others had on athletic sweatshirts and t-shirts. The former seemed more appropriate. [Perhaps that is a snobby observation, but it made for awkward glances among customers].

"Food was just ok and in my opinion way over priced for the quality. Meals came out wrong and when they fixed them everything was cold. They help out on our check but when your paying over 30 a plate you expect quality."

"My wife and I went for a nice dinner and our expectations were exceeded. The wait staff were very attentive, the martinis were excellent, and the food was superb. I'd highly recommend Blue to anyone looking for a restaurant that knows how to do things the right way."

"Selected Blue based on internet search. We were very happy with the selection. The restaurant has a good ambiance, quiet enough to have a conversation. The meal was outstanding. Not only was the dinner delicious but the presentation of the dishes made it even nicer. Portions were just right to allow room for a delicious desert. We will be going back again."

"The restaurant was great. Having made the reservation, when looking online to find out about a dress code I was nervous because there were some very poor reviews online and the mention that it was in a strip mall concerned me. The restaurant was superb. The food was absolutely amazing. I was a little disappointed with noise level, and a little surprised that the bar area was so packed and our table was SO close to it. People were there watching a Penguins game... that it was on did not surprise me, but that the bar was people's place of choice to come and watch it was surprising. Overall though, the food was exquisite and it was a good night."

"My wife and I selected this restaurant based on a recommendation by Open Table and as an alternative to places we usually frequent. Overall, we were very satisfied by our experience in terms of both the quality of service and food selection. The location itself (strip mall location)is not particularly inspiring, but once inside the experience was wonderful."
