Nisen Woodbury is bridging the gap between traditional sushi and fine dining. You'll walk in the front door into an unbelievable selection of sake in our foyer. As you turn the corner into our sleek and sophisticated lounge you will be introduced to our full bar menu that's like no other and a martini list that makes you believe your laying on the beach in Montauk. You'll think to yourself it can't get any better than this but it does: from the tightly rolled Sushi to the perfectly seared black cod, the food is savory and delectable. Each night is completely different whether you want a slower paced mellow Sunday or Tuesday, to a hopping, DJ Spinning Thursday & Friday night. That's why there's something here for everyone at Nisen Woodbury.

"Aside from the fair service and food, a waiter getting our server spilt soy sauce all over our table and stained my shirt and pants. He apologized and the our server jokingly said "now you have something to remember the night." There are better options out there."

"Our waiter, food and drinks were all great. We had a wonderful time. We were shocked when the bill came and saw that the cost of the drinks for 4 people were half of the bill. I would go there again, but drink plain old water."

"Outstanding food and attnetive service. The waiter's recommenddations were spot on. He quickly realized that I was unhappy with my beer being served warm and fizzled, and replaced with a fresh bottle on the house. A bit of "look at me now" crowd at the bar but you can safely ignore them while seated. A bit noisy but e were able to carry on a conversation without shouting. All in all a very good experince. Great and innovative food choices but not too esoteric to enjoy."

"i compared our waitress to that you may find in a dinner. she seemed hurried & impatient. this was an anniversary celebration for us, and better yet - a meal without our toddler and I would say I was disappointed. the kobe meatballs were under cooked. I requested sliced cucumber for my cold sake, I got shredded (if you drink cold sake this way you understand its as effective as a mashed olive in your martini. The sushi was the most expensive I've seen & I eat sushi a lot. I will skip Nisen in the future. Not worth the $160 bill for 2."

"Everything at Nisen was excellent accept the waitress didn't say that the bottled water was $20 which is absolutely ridiculous for water. I mean it's water and if that's the only brand of water they have in stock then they should look into a less expensive bottled water. Other than that, the food there is amazing."

"Everything considered it was a rather disappointing restaurant experience at the Woodbury location. To start with they did not honor our reservation - nor others from what we observed. Several people got up and left.I think that they deliberately overbook and just don't care. When our table finally was available the hostess had difficulty locating us in the overcrowded bar - I saw her looking around and I found her. Service was on the slow side. They are understaffed for the crowded room. Sushi was decent quality, and nicely presented , but it was on a bed of ice and was so cold that it lacked flavor. Basically a lot of "bling" and no real substance. Our experience at the Commack location was far more enjoyable."

"The food quality and our cool waiter make up for what always seems to be a dis-organized kitchen and management staff. We waited WAY too long, but the foods worth it."

"Best Sushi restaurant in a very crowded space. Service is always attentive, the food is outstanding and the menu is very broad. I highly recommend Nisen."
