Toku’s cuisine is predominantly Japanese with influences from China, South Korea, Thailand and South East Asia. Ingredients and cooking techniques throughout the world create
the Modern Asian menu. Owners Gillis and George have dined national and international and have come across a variety of dishes that have really
impressed them, “the best of the best.” According to Gillis, “We put together our favorites and added our own unique twists to them.” George emphasizes the menu’s ease and variety. “It’s a straightforward, casually written menu which allows you to dine any way that you’d like.” Guests may enjoy traditional meals with an appetizer, entree and dessert, or dine exclusively on sushi. Others can order cocktails and a table full of appetizers and skewers to share. “The menu is set up for sharing,” he confirms. Anything goes when ordering at Toku.
"TOKU is a treasure in the AMERICANA! Elegant ambiance, excellent service and superb cuisine.

"If you're into the elegance of Cartier and the simplicity of Louis Vuitton, then this Euro Asian restaurant is designed for you: upscale, health conscious, magnificently prepared cuisine served by an attentive staff that respectfully and successfully does not "hover." You won't find better sushi or sashimi anywhere else!"

"Great food, not happy that the host seated my boyfriend and I at a table next to a family with screaming kids. It's ten at night, an people should not allow children to be around adults drinking and trying to enjoy a weekend bite to eat after a stressful week."

"Toku was so accomodating with our large group and so many kids. I always have a great time at lunch. I live nearby and this is our go-to spot for a consistent, delicious and healthy lunch spot. It's hard to find a place with good food, ambiance and that is kid-friendly. I'm not so sure if it's a good idea to bring kids at night though."

"The food was mediochre and the "mishap" that we experienced (a waiter dropping someone else's food on my son) was met with NO response from management. In fact, a busboy actually was holding back his laughter. The maitre d' should have been at our table immediately with apologies and offerings to make up for the mess."

"Located in prime Manhasset Long Island shopping mall, you get what you expect: overpriced Japanese food served by extremely attentive waitstaff (a bit too eager to clear the plates before you're done), in an elegant upscale setting. The food, while very good and somewhat unusual in preparation, was not so exceptional that I'm rushing back for more. What I had (grilled tofu appetizer, broiled salmon over bok choy) was rather bland. Seems to be a trendy spot for housewives, and a nice place to take someone for a special social or business occasion. My first time; I was there for a business lunch, location suggested by my client, and I was happy to take him there."

"This is not my first time here. The reason we keep coming back is that it's a great spot- the atmosphere is alive and energetic! The food is always top notch and the service is more than just friendly and accomodating. I had, for the first time, the Calamari Salad for one of our appetizers and it was fantastic! One of the many great things about this place is that the service actually waits until you're done with your courses before they take your plates away, and lets you digest for a minute before they bring in the next course.
We're dying to do a brunch or lunch there!"

"Toku never disappoints! We were warmly greeted by name as soon as we arrived and immediately shown to our seats. The table we requested was waiting for us with a "Reserved" sign on it. The drinks were generous, as always. We began with fluke tiradito, octopus carpaccio, various sushi rolls, and beef carpaccio, all of which were superb. Then on to the Kobe beef riverstone BBQ. Outstanding! A few more dishes just because we couldn't resist. All in all, a perfect Valentines Day dinner. We'll certainly be back."
