Krazy Kat's at The Inn at Montchanin Village
Krazy Kat's Restaurant is within the ground of the Inn at Montchanin Village thus located 4 miles N.W. of Wilmington, Delaware. It was once the village blacksmith shop an you still may see the hooks on the walls as well as the forge which is now a fire place. The whimsical decor features tiger print chairs & portraits of military-garbed felines. It offers modern American Cuisine & our Chef always uses seasonal & regional products to maintain freshness & creativity. The wine list contains wines around the world with emphasis on domestic wines especially Pinot Noir, Cabernet, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay & Sauvignon Blanc. Crow's Nest above the Restaurant provides total privacy up to 40 guests with its own entrance & features a-la- -carte menu in a home like setting with fire place. Our guests like to stroll through the grounds & gardens that are all meticulously kept by our horticulturist & his team. The Krazy Kat's restaurant has receive many accolades locally & regionally.

"The menu is complicated and confusing with lengthy descriptions of every dish. It includes unusual and, in my opinion, unnecessary ingredients which don't really enhance the taste of the food. The wait person had to explain how many of the listings were prepared.
The shrimp appetizer I had was delicious but the sauce on the lamb chops was overly salty."

"I took my best friend, who just happens to be my ex-wife, out to celebrate Mother's Day a bit early. I must say, that we had a wonderful evening. The food was exquisite, the waitress was absolutely, perfect. Helpful, non-intrusive, just perfect. I haven't had such a great night out, well... Since I was married! Lol
We plan on coming back next month for her birthday, and we can't wait!

"Love this place. Learned that they have small plates of just about all the mail courses. So my dinning companion and I order two each so we could try a larger part of the menu. It was perfect. Lots of game items on menu. Excellent cellar. Has a nice bistro feel and were not rushed to dine as we had the table for the whole evening."

"Krazy Kats is a wonderful place, filled with quirky portraits of cats (and dogs) in Elizabethan and military dress. The tables are well spaced and the chairs are comfortable. Service is attentive but not overbearing. The food is interesting, creative and well prepared. There is an excellent wine list and a good selection of wines by the glass, and the bartender is prepared to make any cocktail you specify."

"My wife and I discovered Krazy Kats about 6 years ago and have made it our special place for special occasions. The atmosphere at Krazy Kats is a perfect blend of excellent service from an appropriately eclectic staff.
From the off kilter decor to the exotic menu choices, if you allow yourself to be immersed in it, Krazy Kats can make you feel like an honored guest at some royal tea party in Alice's Wonderland.
Both my wife and I are good cooks. I tend to be more adventurous with flavors. Krazy Kat is one of the very few restaurants that I can say teases and treats my taste buds better than my own creations do."

"We'd been to Krazy Kat once about two years ago and were not thrilled - it was not bad but it was not as good as we'd been led to expect. We returned recently and had a perfect evening. The food was excellent, the wine list was great, the ambiance was/is elegant while being krazy kat themed (which we find delightful), the service was perfect - prompt, friendly, informed but not intrusive - all in all a wonderful evening that will be the first of many. Our one vegan diner was very satisfied, although not excited, by his meal. We are so glad we took another chance and plan to return soon."

"Always enjoy Sunday brunch at Krazy Kats. Although they call it a brunch, you really order your meal choice from the menu which includes a wide variety of breakfast and "brunch (taken to another level) offerings. The food is exceptional, it comes out "just made". You can tell it was made to order and has not been sitting around under hot lights waiting to be served. Because of the way things are cooked, you may have to wait a little longer for your meal. However,the dining room is beautiful and you can even have a nice conversation with you family members unlike some other restaurants where the noise level is through the roof."

"We have been here many times for Sunday brunch and it is quite excellent. We decided to try it for dinner. Upon arriving, you got the sense that they were understaffed. The hostess was working the phone and made us wait 5 minutes while she was taking down a room service order. When we were finally seated, the waitress had the ENTIRE dining room. There had to be 15 tables. She was stretched to thin . The manager was running food, the waitress was the bartender also!, and every table was delayed service/food. The food was okay but dinner was completely understaffed. Everyone was nice though and we will be back, but for brunch!"

"Krazy Kat isn't as wild as its name might imply. The decor is cat-themed, but amusingly presented. The dinner menu offers a fine balance of choices and a number of daily specials. The crab cakes, fish (e.g. rockfish)and meat selections (e.g. wild boar chops), the salads and desserts, all feature top-quality ingredients, and are imaginatively prepared. "This was our second time dining at Krazy Kat's and it was every bit as wonderful as the first time. The sevice is impeccable and the food is amazing. The menu is interesting and holds something for everyone. We had solid wines by the glass and the whiskey selection is commendable. This is not an inexpensive restaurant but it is worth every penny. Keep in mind that the bar is mostly used as a service bar and not necessarily comfortable for hanging out."

"My husband and I enjoyed a quiet dinner recently on a visit to the area. The food was excellent, I highy recommend the antelope if it is on the menu, it was exquisite! We very much appreciated being able to order a half portion, that way we were able to sample an appetizer/salad and dessert with a clear conscience. We plan to return when we are back in the area."

"We loved Krazy Kats. It was literally one of the best meals my husband and I have had. The service left something to be desired but we went on a Monday and there was only one server working. We think she might have been a little "in the weeds" with 5 tables. (2 of the tables were parties of 5 or 6). We will definitely go back. YUM!"

"The decor is definitely unexpected but somehow comes together with the overall dining experience. I definitely enjoyed the meal, especially the conversation we had with the sommelier and the rose they gave me at the end! The dishes are all quite adventurous in their flavor combinations, which we always enjoy, and the menu features many of the old standbys in high-end ingredients. Most restaurants typically choose to feature only a few, while this particular prix fixe offered dishes that all featured something to get excited about. I wasn't entirely a fan of what was attempted in some of the dishes I chose, but they definitely all receive an "A" for effort!"

"My wife and I went for a special occasion: it was our first REAL date since our daughter was born. I picked this place because I heard it was a neat place in a neat area; it definitely is! We each got a 5 course meal and wine, all of which was great. It was definitely expensive, but definitely worth it to do once in a while. Also, the menu did have less expensive offerings. Overall, it was a cool find and a fine experience!"

"The price was a little out of the ball park for the amount of food, however the preparation was fantastic. The only real thing holding back the food score from 5 stars, in my opinion, was the dessert course. I was a chef in a former life and i recognized the desserts as prefabricated layered chocolate sheet cakes. Otherwise the service was professional and courteous and the prepared dishes were fantastic. Overall, I would recommend this place to friends and family and will be returning myself."
