This is American Regional Cuisine at its classic, pub-inspired best. The food is fun and what we like to call “approachable”. You’ll also enjoy some twists on the classics with taste-inspired ideas like our Dirty Caesar Salad and Greek Turkey Burger. At the American Tap Room we believe in using local ingredients as much as possible and, yes, everything we serve goes well with beer.
Ranging from weekend brunch, to a casual lunch outing or an after-work gathering in our bar, each dining experience is uniquely enjoyable.
Enjoy your time with us on our outdoor patio, inside by the fireplace, or by booking a private event.
"First time eating at AM Tap. Food was awesome. Although, I wouldnt recommend going with a baby since it was packed. Nevertheless, it was a good dinning experience!!!!"

"We stopped in to the Reston ATR for Mother's Day Brunch. The service was great. It seemed like we were given preferential treatment for seating because we had made a reservation, which I appreciated, and our table was secluded from the others, which made conversation easier. The brunch buffet was delicious! Great selection: salads, made-to-order omelets, french toast, chicken & waffles, prime rib, etc. There were small portions set out so the food was constantly refreshed, which doesn't always happen at a buffet. My dad wasn't feeling well and the waiter offered for him to check out the buffet and did not charge him for the couple of pieces of bread and bits of fruit that he ate off of the buffet. Great experience!"

"A bit loud. Cool, lighted menus! Food was good. Service average. When I made the res through Open Table, I noted under special instructions that we were celebrating a 15 y.o.'s birthday. I guess I expected at least a "happy birthday"."

"I had a class which happened to fall on the date of our anniversary. My husband selected this restaurant as the location to celebrate our special day. Not knowing any of the local establishments he chose this restaurant. had to wait 30 minutes for a table even with a reservation.service was very good ,the food was great as well although both our steaks were a bit UNDER COOKED. We declined dessert as the entrees and appetizer were filling for us, noise level was the chief downfall for us. Restaurant was quite loud and difficult to have a nice conversation or romantic dinner, it was a Saturday night and Final Four weekend which may have added to the busyness, I really don't know."

"I had the bass again, but the taste was more on the maple syrup side but still was good just more caramelized. The rest of the family enjoyed their meal. The big comfy chairs need to go - sank down too far from the table."

"This restaurant is a real gem in an area full of restaurants. We had the specials (Irish theme since it was the day before St. Patrick's day) and the corned beef was the best I've ever had. But, start with the mussels for a true treat. They were fantastic. We will definitely return and take our friends with us."

"Despite having a reservation, we were running a little late (~10 min.) because we couldn't find a parking space in the garages and we still had to wait even though there were numerous empty tables. Once we were seated it took us FOREVER to have our waitress acknowledge us and then it was taking an incredibly long time to receive our drink order. We noticed 4-6 waiters/waitresses just standing around and our waitress spent all of her time bringing drinks to a large party next to us instead of bringing us our drinks. The food was just ok it wasn't anything to write about except that you don't get much food especially based on the price. We definitely won't be returning. This was our first & last time to this restaurant."

"Our latest visit was very good. We were there with our friends and their 2 and 6 year olds. The place is very kid friendly, which was great. The food selections were great, for both kids and adults. My only compliant was it was a tad noisy and our server was having a hard time hearing us, 2 orders weren't accurate, and we had a hard time hearing her.
But overall it was great night with excellent food!"

"My family was very disappointed in the food. We ordered the pretzels and that was the only good thing we ate. We also ordered the grilled Caesar salad and it was very greasy and had way too much dressing. My husband got the lobster Mac and cheese and gave it a 5. The crab cakes were very disappointing and had no flavor. I was glad to have the fries as my mom and I hardly touched our crab cakes. My dad got the blackened chicken sandwich and was also not good. I would recommend others eat elsewhere as the food was really subpar though the ambience was nice, there are much better choices in Reston Town Center. I will never eat there again."

"This place seems to attract groups and has a VERY loud, crowded bar. We had a reservation for 7:30, arrived at 7:20 and were told they couldn't seat us until 7:30. We didnt' sit down until 7:50 because a large group tied up so many tables. The noise was uncomfortable. Loud music competes with the noise from the bar. It was difficult to hear the waitstaff and each other. The food was well prepared and tasty but came with no sides and no bread. It wasn't worth sitting through the noise and I won't be back."

"This place is simply awesome! My wife and I had lunch at the Tap room and we highly recommend this place. We love the laid-back feel of this place - chic, cozy and a smooth atmosphere – like being in a snow mountain cabin restaurant. The chicken and waffles are my favorite. *****"

"The food was excellent and the atmosphere was great for any occaision; cozy enough for an intimate date, great atmosphere for groups and for private business lunches. The service wasn't the best, but the food was hot and made to order. Loved the appetizers and the Brunch menu!"

"This was our 1st time at this Restaurant and I had made a reservation for 7 pm. We got there at 6:55pm and we were seated within 5 mins. We had a nice booth near the fireplace. We were greeted within 5 mins of sitting and our waiter Sean was so nice. He did not rush us. He took our drink orders and then gave us sometime to look over the menu. I loved how the menu lit up when you opened it. My husband had the Maryland crab soup and I had the pretzel to start. Excellent! I ordered the Lobster mac and cheese and all I can say was YUMMY!!!!!! My husband had the Shrimp Creole and he said it was great. We did not get dessert."
