Ristorante Cavour at the Hotel Granduca
Enjoy Ristorante Cavour, Hotel Granduca’s first signature restaurant. Ristorante Cavour offers unique Northern Italian cuisine.
The warm, intimate restaurant is the vision of Giorgio Borlenghi with design of Ermy Borlenghi Bonfield—the talent behind the design of the entire hotel. In keeping with the old-world Tuscan feel, the space is small and intimate with warm colors, flickering candlelight and antique prints gracing the walls. The name of the restaurant was inspired by, Camillo Benso, conte di Cavour, the former Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Piedmont-Sardinia. He worked in Torino under King Victor Emanuel II and is known for unifying Italy in 1861. Count Cavour became, in that year, the first Prime Minister of Italy.

"Based on reviews me and my wife were hoping for a great romantic night out, it turned out ok but from someone who enjoys cooking at home you would want something that supersedes what you make yourself on weekends, this was not it. We had different seafood but both included strange selections of sauce to compliment the fish and vegetables. I enjoy a good polenta cake which is extremely easy to make but when you have eaten it from the chef's of Bergamo this was very disappointing, topped with only an ok fish. Ambience is good and impressive wine list, although my first very basic selection was unavailable ... after 20 minute wait?!? First and the last time unfortunately, Houston is filled with so many better italian restaurants ..."

"It was my first time that I dine at Cavour. It was the best dining experience I never had. I love the decor, the ambiance, the food and the service. All servers use your name even you never dine there, also the wine list is one of the best in Houston, the sommelier recommended us a wonderful wine which pair perfectly to our meal. The servers are very attentive. The service is elegant, you can talk without shouting and the servers never rushed you to pay. You really can enjoy a wonderful dining experience. No matter what I will be back at Cavour and it becomes my favorite place in Houston to dine."

"The customer service is impeccable. I could only wish the customer service I give to my clients is as good as the hotel and restaraunt's staff. The staff was very knowledgable about the wine list and it is no short list by any means. They made recommendations and we went with them and they were fantastic suggestions.
Great place for any venue."

"Both meat and fish had been in the freezer for a long time so that the texture of both was unpleasant. Also, the meat was over cooked. For the top prices paid ($40+ per entre) that should not been the case."

"Outstanding service(greeted by name), and wonderful food. Even during a busy Valentine's Day/NBA All-Star weekend, we received excellent service and enjoyed a wonderful meal. The staff is attentive from the time you walk in, and throughout your meal. Definitely one of our favorite restaurants in Houston!"

"We had an excellent Valentine's Day dinner. The chef's menu was outstanding- just the right proportions so it was not too much food. The wine pairings were excellent, although sometimes came too slow to match the pace of the food. A beautiful dining room. Overall, Outstanding."
