Thank you for choosing Grand Concourse, Pittsburgh's premier waterfront seafood restaurant. Our fresh seafood, impeccable service & breathtaking view will make your experience one to remember.
"We have enjoyed this resturant for years and make every effort to go there when we visit Pittsburgh. While the dinners are great, if you happen to be in Pittsburgh on a Sunday....try to get into the brunch. Once you do, it will become the standard that you'll measure all other brunches against......on top of that it is less than $40 per person. On top of that the setting in an old 19th century train station is spectacular that includes the view of downtown Pittsburgh"

"The food and atmosphere are always great! Service to our table for coffee refills could have been better. Also, we had a rewards card that our waitress claimed she swiped - when she returned with our bill, she had not taken the $50 in rewards from our card. A manager came back with the new bill. There was no apology for the problem - he simply asked how our experience was that day. This seems to be an ongoing problem here - great food, atmosphere, not the best service!"

"I love the historic, beautiful Grand Concourse! I never know where I prefer to sit - the inside of the restaurant with the incredible stained glass ceilings and spacious surroundings or along the windows to see the Pittsburgh view! The food is consistently great with a good variety. I miss the Smithfield Street Bridge chocolate dessert from many years ago - bring it back! Overall, always love this restaurant. ( Apparently, they had over 3,000 reservations for Mother's Day Brunch and it was crowded, yet the food was readily available and service was prompt. Excellent! )"

"There probably isn't a better special occasion restaurant in all of Western Pennsylvania than the Grand Concourse. While we were celebrating Mother's Day a day early most of the main dining area was taken up by a wedding party and the was a smaller birthday party toward the back on the room. From what I could distinguish there wasn't a person there who wasn't being nearly fawned over by the waitstaff. The seafood was excellent as was the steak. In all of the years I have been coming to this place I have never had a bad meal."

"We had out-of-town guests and wanted to impress them. The worn entrance carpet and cool greeting by the hostess were not a good start. We were shown to a table in the River Room as requested. Our server was prompt and pleasant. I was a little surprised that he didn't know what an ale was. The hour was late so we simply had drinks and entrees. The grilled halibut was quite good. The rice served with it was tasty, and the broccoli was well prepared. Our guests were quite impressed by the main room. Who wouldn't be? I suppose we will return when we want to impress people by the way a restaurant looks."

"The place is gorgeous, almost Gatsbyish. Not a very big crowd though we were a bit early. We felt almost lonely in the big dinning room. The hostess seating us was a bit clueless about an appropriate table for 6 men (biz dinner). Food is good but not outstanding."

"Well, this was not our first time to the Grand Concourse for their famous brunch. It had been quite a while, however. The food was good. The "hold up" on an excellent rating here is the prime rib was extremely fatty, and the sinew was not trimmed off of it before preparation and service. I've watched enough food network to know that is a a no no! Anyways, other than that "picky" detail, the food was excellent. Our waiter was not as attentive as I would have liked. Although he was extremely polite, There was a point when he actually started taking my plate as I was feeding my daughter, then paused to ask if I was finished with the plate. He also took a long time in bring our check even after clearing the table."

"The brunch is still great after years of being away (I just moved back from California). The service wasn't as good as I remembered it, but that's not too important if you go for brunch and the brunch was still wonderful. :-)"

"My husband and I like to welcome ourselves back to Pittsburgh when we return from a vacation with a great meal. We made an excellent choice in the Grand Concourse. We easily made reservations on line and were even seated early when we arrived before our reservation time. We were seated at a window table with a wonderful river view just as we had requested in our online reservation. Our server, Herbert, was pleasant and efficient. I asked for a red wine that was not too dry and he provided the perfect compliment to my dinner. We also enjoyed dessert and coffee. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the ambiance was welcoming. The overall experience was outstanding."

"Took out of town business clients for dinner week of April 29th. For classic Pittsburgh history and architecture, GC is delightful and conveys a sense of grandeur appropriate for such an occasion. The hostess quickly got us seated. Service was friendly and attentive, and, nice to say, 'professional' [ie, no "what can I get you honey?"]. One minor ding in that service was a little slow out of the gate but once orders were taken, the dinner flowed very smoothly. The wine list is well-populated. The [standard] menu was extensive and there was an interesting seasonal supplemental menu offering a number of choices. All four of our dinners were quite good; all seafood and prepared and seasoned correctly. Would not hesitate to go back."

"We celebrated a friend's 60th birthday and requested to be seated on the porch using Open Table. I am glad we did, the restaurant was very busy for Sunday Brunch. We were given a great table by the window overlooking the river and Pittsburgh. The porch ambiance was very light and airy compare to other rooms. It use to be the original train station, therefore it had wonderful old world charm, stained glass, marble, brass and wood. The the service was excellent by all the staff. The food was very good, hot and replenished quickly. There were a few make to order stations which allowed you to customize your items. Dishes for adults and kids."

"This was for a graduation. Apparently they overbooked restaurant for brunch because even the valet had to turn drivers away. It took 25 minutes to seat us. Part of that was that I asked for a table close to the buffet for an older person in the group. I would have liked to be told that my wait could have been only perhaps 15 min. Maybe I would have chosen other seating sooner. I ultimately did after the 25 minutes. That could all be blamed on me...but the fact that the table waited 10 minutes + for a cappuchino and then 10 more minutes for a specially delivered grad cake to be brought out in an ugly box and opened by our server at the table was definitely not our fault. It was unappetizing and down right rude. Not happy!"

"We chose Grand Concourse when we were looking for a dinner option near Station Square. We were impressed by the grand interior of the restaurant and the great views. Or waiter was friendly, but he disappeared for most of our meal, despite the restaurant being fairly empty when we were there. One of our side dishes was forgotten and didn't show up until the very end of the meal (we wanted to cancel it after awhile, but were not able to locate our waiter in order to do so). The food was all good and nicely prepared, but nothing was especially memorable. I would definitely recommend it before any of the other chain restaurants in the Station Square area, but it did not leave a lasting impression."

"The only complaint we had was the steaks were over cooked. We only sent back 1 of the 3 we ordered. If you want medium, order medium rare. It only takes a short time to cook a steak further, but it takes quite awhile to cook another one, and the rest of your party will be having dessert while you finish your entree."

"Theychanged a few things at the brunch and it did not flow very well and we did not enjoy it as much. This time it took a long time for us to be seated, long after our 10:00 reservation, and our waiter was inattentive. The food was not as impressive, for example, they added hash brown potatoes, but they had absolutely no flavor, nor did the roast beef. (P.S. The horesradish sauce needs to be moved to the other side of the carving station, after you get your meat, closer to the au jus and extra horseradish)We were especially disappointed because we brought my in-laws for their anniversary celebration and I think they felt as thought they had had better brunches at country clubs, other restaurants, etc.(Eggs Benedict?Long line@omelette statio"

"We love eating Sunday Brunch at the Grand Concourse. We were seated in the Gandy Dancer Saloon area and my children had difficulty getting on and off the high chairs. We also didn't get to enjoy hearing the piano player as the bar area was noisy. The food is superb and we usually enjoy the atmosphere, but this past Sunday wasn't as enjoyable as usual. Thanks, however, to the great waitstaff !! Next time we will request not to be in that area on our reservations."

"If you're in Pittsburgh visit this place, even if it's just to get a drink. If you're there on Sunday especially for Brunch, I'll put this place against almost anywhere (outside of the state of Louisiana) I've been for the money. This time we had all appetizers, the highlight was the scallops. They also were willing to stuff olives with blue cheese martini's, another plus."

"Just OK. Food was really not that special and was strangely prepared. Coffee weak. Pretty slow night trying to get the check. Unbalanced value for the expensive price ticket. Restaurant could be struggling a bit based on the experience. I think I was finished 15 minuted before I got the ticket...nice building though."

"I had been to Grand Concourse two times earlier, and every time, the food is very good and the service is great. This time was no different, although there was a little too much of the buttery sauce in my pasta and the noodles were a bit drippy, but that's picky. The dessert was the best, though. My sister had the Dulche de Leche cheesecake and I had the Raspberries and Chambord. My only complaint, and it's not really a complaint, is that the piano music is a bit too loud and distracting. The piano player seems to know a lot about playing the piano, but very little about how the music should be played. He's been there at least two years, though, and at this point, I'd be mad if he wasn't there. :)"

"The service was beyond wonderful, our waiter was engaging but not overwhelming, he made terrific recommendations on both the wine and food choices. The surroundings is breathtaking from the stained glass vaulted ceilings to the carved wood paneling and marble flooring and walls. You will feel like you were in a time machine that took you to a time when elegant surroundings, incredible food and service was only set aside for the ultimate wealthy - the luncheon meals were very reasonable and you felt and left as if you were treated at ten times the worth. Truly a wonderful experience."

"I have been coming to the GC for over 30 years and this by far was the worst meal. What has happen to the quailty of the food at the GC? For 83 dollars for three people this was very overpriced. I really want my money back for it was not worth what I paid."
