"This was my first visit. I would love to go back and will put this restaurant at the top of my list. I also will recommend this restaurant to my friends. The young lady who waited on our table was very special and professional. Our party of six were all very pleased with the experience. Thank you."

"At this price level food should be very good, instead it is jsut fair. My $14 asparagus soup was barely three spoonfuls and way too salty. Also, although it was late, I felt rushed as I had barely finished my appetizer when the entree appeared. I think there are much better places to spend this kind of money for dinner."

"I was here once before, perhaps eight years ago, and it was incredible. There is still much to be admired; the amuse bouche of salmon tucked into some sort of tuile was perfect, the entrees of pork and cod were excellent. The rabbit/speatzle appetizer, however, tasted as if reheated. But all in all very good."

"We are from Texas and the restaurant had been recommended by friends who spend lots of time in NYC. It was a treat for us, weinersnitzel was outstanding and rhubarb struedel topped off the meal in a special way. Service was superb and waiter even guided us to a subwa station and which train to take to get back to our place of lodging."

"Wallsé was outstanding! We went here after the theater and we were more than pleased with our choice. After purchasing Neue Cuisine and reading about the restaurants of Kurt Guttenbruner. The foie gras was delightful, the entrees (I had the Schnitzel, my wife the Goulash, and my daughter the Venison) were just delicious, beautifully prepared and nicely served. The staff was great, from the hostess to the servers and the bartender. For dessert, have the Salzburger Nockerl with Huckleberries, you cannot go wrong!"

"What a wonderful place! A friend had long walked passed the restaurant and thought it looked intriguing. I read great reviews and we decided to go. It is casually elegant and absolutely delicious. A modern take on some traditional Austrian cuisine. The service is warm, friendly but unobtrusive and restrained. "I had forgotten to make a reservation for a special occasion and turned to Opentable for what they do best- find reservations! I had passed Wallse many times, but didn't know anything about it. After seeing they had an early opening and reading the reviews I took the reservation. What a wonderful surprise this was for me (for both of us!). The service was wonderful, the cocktails were imaginative and current, and the food was equally as delightful. For almost striking out in the planning process, I certainly hit a homerun on the destination!"

"Wallsé is a wonderful restaurant. The food is absolutely superb. I was apprehensive before going there, not knowing what to expect of "Austrian cuisine". I've been pleasantly surprised, time and time again. They serve many German/Austrian standards, but their food is as varied and wonderful as anything you'd find in one of the better French or Italian restaurants, with ample portions. The service is excellent, the location is great and the ambiance is that of a French bistro. I recommend it highly."

"We went to Wallse for dinner on a Monday night. Wallse was tucked away on a treelined block and the wait staff greeted us warmly and immediately upon arrival. "This was our second visit. It's a lovely restaurant. We were a bit disappointed in some of the dishes. The halibut was just a tad overdone and the veal was a bit chewy this time. The service is professional but somewhat disinterested. The grating music was inappropriate for an elegant spot.All in all, not quite up to our expectations."

"We returned to Wallse, a favorite, for a birthday dinner. From the moment we came in the staff was friendly and helpful. I requested no additional salt in my dishes and they readily complied. The rest of our party of four enjoyed their meals, but a few actually found their dishes a little on the salty side. The portions are not large, but the food is well prepared, delicious and beautifully presented. The weakest part of the meal was dessert; fluffy (marshmallow) and very sweet treats seemed to predominate the choices. One thing that almost ruined the experience was completely beyond the control of the staff; in the middle of our meal another party was seated near us and one of the diners wore an overwhelming perfume."

"The place looks very romantic and the service is very attentive. The food, however, left much to be desired, when you factor in the prices. We go to restaurants often, in different cities in the world, seeking out new culinary experiences. With certainty, I can say that this place needs to either improve the food they serve, or reduce the prices."

"This place is good but that's it. A little over priced and very limited wine list consisting of mostly German wines. One ver negative point in our meal was the seared scallops which didn't seem very fresh had a poor attempt at a sear."

"Wallsé has become one of my favorite haunts over the past couple of years. The food is excellent, the ambiance is good, and it's tucked away in the far west village, which is charming. Tonight I had the rabbit spaetzle, which is delicious, the Monkfish, which was cooked to utter perfection, and the Salzburger Nockerl, a sublime meringue of vanilla cream and huckleberry. Go. You won't be disappointed."
