"One Bellevue restaurant in Newport RI lets one enjoy a classic dinner in a romantic and traditional setting inside the Viking Hotel. We celebrated my husband's and my daughter's boy friend's birthdays there with a delicious and beautifully presented dinner. The staff was all professionally and very nice. We enjoyed the experience very much! Thank you! gail"

"My wife and I loved this place. We came here on a visit to Newport last year, and loved it then. Came back again this year, and loved it even more. Best seafood chowder I've ever had, anywhere. But really, every dish was top-notch. And great ambiance - quite, tasteful, with attentive and perfectly-timed service. If we come to Newport nest year, we'll be sure to stop in here."

"Service from the kitchen was slow and then the food was cold . Had a steak of the night which was a very thin slab of beef. Couldn't taste the beef.. Better restaurants in the area."

"Had a great dinner. Person that seated us was super friendly, even gave us a tip on a beach place to go see. Waiter (Michael) was also very friendly. Suggested veal appetizer tat was awesome. The manager came by 2x to see if everything was OK."

"A bit expensive for the quality of the food. Both the tuna app and entree were overcooked...the cod was very good, not great, and dessert choices were just so so for a high end hotel restaurant. Oh, my credit card was actually authorized twice for the same amounts and while they both posted to my account it was credited back to me, so all was good."

"We wanted to check out the list of Restaurant Week menu lunches and hit some of the more upscale places that we normally wouldn't go to. With the great deals of Restaurant Week, One Bellevue looked like a place to check out. I'll admit I didn't know it was within the Hotel Viking, so felt a little embarrassed walking around the building with my date.
With pre-conceived expectations of Restaurant Week 3-course meals, we expected small portions. We were surprised at how large the soup, salad, pizza, and sandwich were, and equally amazed at how delicious it tasted. We had no choice but to bring home leftovers, but certainly weren't complaining."

"Food was excellent, service was good, would recommend for special occasion or a romantic date. Menu was pricey but the quality was worth it. Would recommend using the valet service for parking."

"Service, atmosphere, and food were wonderful. Love the large windows and romantic atmosphere of One Bellevue. Food was wonderful and server was charming and not too intrusive. Would definitely recommend this restaurant."

"Room, concierge, valet top notch! 1 Bellevue (for the sake of brevity I must be blunt) Wedding and lounge guitarist created an awful din. Waited and hour for our meal. No bread, Just noise. Next day, bride's family held court in sm dining room. No peace. (segregate them in the future) Federico and our server ABSOLUTELY saved the evening (my wife's 50th) They moved us to a somewhat quieter corner, took care of some of our meal then brought a b-day dessert to us. We will come again as long as they are still there. Otherwise I'd be very hesitant to eat there during a function. Hat's off to Fed and the wait staff that showed up. My wife loved High tea, head waiter was great. Everyone else needs a slap. Regards, Joe Wallace 617-777-8510"

"We dined at One Bellevue to celebrate our anniversary. We are both foodies, which is why we carefully reviewed the menu and shared everything we got so we both could experience the variety. We started off at the bar for a drink, made well with friendly staff. We were then seated in the dining room for dinner. Table for two, nice ambiance, small and quiet for the most part. Butternut squash soup, warm spinach salad, Scallop special, Sirloin steak and a bottle of Sterling Merlot. FANTASTIC! The flavor and taste of everything was cooked and prepared well. Absolutely no complaints...we would dine here again. There was even some live music in the bar that had us bopping our heads by the end of dinner. Wonderful experience!"

"This review is only for the afternoon tea and breakfast as we did not eat dinner here. Both the tea and breakfast were great! The afternoon tea was reasonably priced for a nice restaurant - you can add on champagne cocktails for an extra charge. The food was delicious - we particularly liked the scones with lemon curd. The ambiance at One Bellevue is lovely as well - very peaceful and relaxing. Both our server and the maitre'd (Dan) did a fantastic job - the service was impeccable. We also ate at One Bellevue for breakfast. We went with the buffet option, but they also have an ala carte menu. We really enjoyed the buffet as well - they had a delicious omelet station with lots of choices, and fantastic freshly baked goods!"
