"We had an elegant Mother's Day dinner but thought the food was overpriced. Oceanaire has an extensive menu for a wide variety of selections. With all the sides being about $8 or higher, this makes for a high priced meal. The service was excellent and the food was good, but we won't be back anytime soon."

"Given it was Mother's day it was a little crowded but Oceanaire did their best to accomodate my Mother, sister and myself. They orginally had us sitting by the opening of the door, where they had created a make shift table (I assume to try and fit everyone in). But they quickly changed our table when I was overwhelmed by the traffic flow. Timing of the food was extremely slow but to be expected on Mother's day!"

"The food when finally received was barely warm. Ordered a steak with butter, the butter never melted. The initial attention of the waiter was excellent, as the dining experience continued, the waiter seemingly forgot our existence. I would not recommend this establishment to anyone for a special occasion."

"I have been to Oceanaire numerous times and I have never been disappointed by the quality of the food. However, the last few times, the NOISE level has been very high. It can be very distracting for the guests; because so much effort is exerted trying to hear what is being discussed at the table.

"It was my brother's 20th birthday, and the waiter made him (and my whole family) feel like we were stars. I sent instructions via OpenTable, and every one was followed with even more effort put in than I'd imagined. My brother also raved about the crab legs being the best he's ever had. I ordered mussels, which honestly were not great, but my Woodford Manhattan made up for it -- easily the best I've ever had! Overall, the presentation and service -- not to mention the smile on my brother's face -- made the night a top experience. Would definitely recommend!"

"I have been visitingthe Oceanaire since they opened the door. At that time, i worked in this neighborhood, it was much more frequent but I want to come back this place as many as I can. The signature Chilean Seabass is still delicious and every single one of our table enjoyed all foods including oysters appetizer through desert. It has been almost one year since I visited last time, nothings changed great seafood and great service."

"This was my second time coming to this resturant and I have to say that the food impressed me like I had never been there before. The only thing I would say that needs to be improved would be the servers. I had many questions about some of their specials on the menu that night and all my servers reply was"its good"! No, description of the food, what it might taste like, no recommondations etc....... I would think that with a menu as great as it was that the server "must" be knowledgeable about what's on the menu!"

"I have never had such an aggressive waiter who tried to push food on us. He was rude when we didn't buy all of the "extras" even though we were a sizable party with a sizable check including good wine. Once he realized he could not up-sell us on every food item, despite our choice of expensive wines, he rarely came by our table, choosing to spend his time on other tables around ours that ordered many extra sides, etc. The table next to ours bought into all of the extras the waiter pushed and was so shocked when their bill came that the gentleman had to split the bill on multiple credit cards because it exceeded his credit limit on one card. I would not return or recommend the restaurant solely on the service."

The seared Ahi tuna is an excellent choice for dinner, but watch the wasabi, it's hotter than those in your typical sushi joint. "We had drinks at a lively bar prior to our reservation. Then we were seated at our precise reservation time. The waiter was curteous, knowledgeable and very pleasant. Food was exactly what the menu offered. My Chilean sea bass was perfect. The shrimp scampi and little over dressed and the sides of asparagus and sweet potato were a great complement the original bottle of wine we ordered from a vast list was not available. Our waiter recommended another bottle that was superb. We had a lovely evening and I would highly recommend a visit. Downside. The maitre d was a bit snippy. Did not convey the relaxed and easy dinig experience we had."

"We celebrated the 60th birthday of a friend on Friday evening. From the time we entered to the time we left we had wonderful service. The host/hostess was very gracious with a pre-printed menu as a "gift" for our friend. There was also a complimentary baked Alaska for dessert which was plenty for four. Each entrée (one simply grilled salmon, one mixed grilled seafood, one salmon with spinach, one halibut special) was well prepared and presented well. The wine and drinks were fair pours and promptly served. The bread basket was refilled without asking and the rolls were pleasantly warm and crusty. Our waiter could not have been more kind - he was always there for us but never intrusive. A lovely dining experience."

"The waiter was inattentive of our needs. Drink glasses were empty numerous times for more than 10 minutes. He even came to the table to give us dessert plates and did not refill the empty glasses. I've dined at other Oceanaire restaurants and they all cleaned the crumbs off the table between courses, but this waiter did not. I was very disappointed with the service. The lobster mac and cheese appetizer had a crust on it from the cold cheese when it was brought to the table. Not good."

"The food was as expected, very good. Actually this visit I think I would say outstanding, except desert. We shared a creme brule, which three of us only took one bite. It simply was not good. The disapointing thing to me was the waiter did not comment or ask when there were only three bites taken from the desert. Its all in the details.... the tuna poke, and calamari were prepared to perfection. This location has the best crab cakes in the chain. It must be the crab supplier or location, i am certain the recipe is the same. The black and blue sea bass, which did not sound good to me at all, was also outstanding. Aside from the one issue i mentioned, bravo!"

"I enjoy eating here and the food is consistently good. We had reservations for 8pm Saturday evening and were seated in the ad hoc room of six tables. It was was not the ambiance I had hoped for and the service was spotty. The couple at the table next to us were not happy with the service and it was an awkward situation to be sitting so close to them in such an intimate room."

"The food was very nice, though not unique or special in any way. The restaurant was practically empty at 12:30 on a week day, despite being surrounded by office buildings, and as a result the waiter was very attentive, to the point of excessive. I would be more enthusiastic about the restaurant if the food was more interesting, but there are much better seafood restaurants in the area."
