"I made our reservation to honor my husband and my dad for Father's Day on Sunday. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, our waiter was very nice and courteous, and the food was very good.

"I've been to another location M&S a couple of times, and this was easily the worst experience. Ding bat waitress, slow service and small portions for the money. There's nothing worse than trying to get a couple of drink/app orders in before happy hour shuts off and then waiting...and waiting...."

"My office staff and I took our Doctor here for his birthday. The M&S staff made his evening by personalizing the menus. Our waitress was extremely attentive and everyone's meal was outstanding. Superb customer service and a positive memorable experience!"

"I recently took a colleague for lunch downtown for their birthday. A reservation was made in advance. We arrived on time, however, was disappointed by the entire dining experience. Service was very poor and slow. The quality of food was fair. Also, the birthday person's lunch order was not prepared as ordered and created additional delay and disappointment. It is fair to say I will not dine here in the future nor will I take other colleagues here in the future. I was expecting a nice experience in atmosphere and food pallet and did not receive either. I can't express how disappointed and embarassed I was for the birthday guest and in myself for suggesting this restaurant as the lunch choice."

"Tasty specials and delicate dishes. Not especially crowded for lunch but service staff without business lunch urgency on this occasion. Would not choose this time of day if there are afternoon appointments or if you are on a schedule for the day. Unfortunate as this location is in the heart of business district and timely service will insure they dont sink but swim in revenue."

"We arrived a bit early for our reservation but were seated immediately and greeted by our waitress, who took our drink order and offered appetizers. There were 6 of us in our party; several ordered the clam chowder exclaiming it to be excellent . . . "the best I've had". Everyone's entree arrived in a timely manner, piping hot and delicious. By the end there might have been a few fries & a couple of green beans left but plates were cleaned; a testament to the great food. Our table shared the exquisite "Bag of Chocolate"; a chocolate "brown bag" filled with white chocolate mousse and fresh berries; again the plates where cleaned by the end of the meal. A very pleasant Mother's Day evening I won't soon forget."

"Our group of 11 had a dinner meeting on this occasion. We were greeted when we arrived a bit early and were quickly accommodated ed at the bar. Our table was set up and ready on time and our waiter arrived promptly to get our drink orders. The service was very good and the food was properly prepared and served. Overall this was a very good dining experience."

"We always enjoy dining at McCormick & Schmick's Seafood downtown in the Houston Pavilions because of the dependably good service and great food with constantly changing specials and seasonal food. And we appreciate the choice between simply prepared and more gourmet dishes. The staff is always friendly and attentive and the kitchen is always efficient, so we never have to wait too long on our food. The ambiance is luxurious but friendly and the moderate noise level, even when full, always allows easy conversation."

"We went for Easter brunch and it was extremely lack luster. The menu was sparse and said it had a great kids menu. We asked the waiter what the kids plate was and he answered, nothing fancy... just an egg, bacon and toast... for $8. Also a mimosa for $8 which was barely a sip. Very overpriced and the food and service did not match with the price we paid, very disappointed."

"Overall I was quite disappointed with my experience. I ordered a bloody Maria. When the drink finally arrived it had no garnish and there was a quarter of an inch of salt on the rim. The waitress blamed the new bartender for the otherwise ungarnished Bloody Mary. So I asked her for olives which weren't immediately served as a garnish substitute. My date ordered the parmesan crusted flounder. The oily mess that came to the table was well over cooked and only the thickest parts of the fish were moist enough to eat without water. We shared mine instead, which was, to your credit, moist and well seasoned. Our "sometimes" waitress was not knowledgable and read verbatum from the menu. We witnessed another customer hunt down his absent waiter. D-"

"It is awesome seafood coming from us, who live in the desert and very little access to good seafood. We thought Red Lobster was awesome, but this is a much better dining experience. The food is the best, the service is too, and the dessert was out of this world. we plan to visit again and everytime my husband needs to go to a workshop in Houston, we are there, and look forward to dining at McCormick & Schmick's. It is well worth the price you pay and the experience is unique."

"Typical Landrys restrauant. This is a chain owned by a larger chain of restrauants. Was told they had lobsters then when ordered they didn't have any, only a small tail (probably frozen). Terrible waiter and food was mediocre. Will never return to this restrauant and discourage my friends from subjecting themselves to same experience."

"Good restaurant, good service, attention to detail. I especially appreciated that we requested through our open table reservation a place that would be relatively quiet for dinner because of the importance of our dinner meeting and the need for the five of us to have conversation. I was pleasantly surprised that we were given a special enclosed corner, obviously designed for conversation. It was a perfect setting."

"Food was good, but nothing special. Restaurant was quiet because it was only 6 pm, service was good. The bar area was packed and noisy because of happy hour, but happy hour prices did not extend to the restaurant area so few people were there. We did buy fulll price margaritas, and our table found them to be excellent. One of our guessts ordered steak medium rare, but sent it back for additional cooking - the waiter agreed it was still mooing. This restaurant is like an upscale Outback - food the same but priced higher."

"Service was subpar, food was so-so, pitch for Landry's membership at the end of the meal is always annoying. The only highlight was one of the hostesses. We wish we had her for our waitress instead. She was attentive, vibrant, on top of things...everything our waitress was not. Will not be rushing back anytime soon."

"There are much more expensive places downtown than McC&S, which are definitively not worth it, including some very famous steakhouses. This place is a real good restaurant for visitors, at walking distance from most downtown hotels, with a service beyond reproach and a reliable food. I have been there many times, and never been disappointed."

For startes shared the Calamari "Fritto Misto" and Buttermilk Fried Oysters with Horseradish Slaw, Lemon Tabasco Aioli- Oysters were cooked to prefection. Calamari was tender and crispy.
Main course- Buttermilk Fried Shrimp had great flavor and were fried just right.
Cedar Roasted Atlantic Salmon Northwest with Berry Reduction, Roasted Vegetables was flavorful and prepare just right. Food arrived very quickly"

"Went for Valentine's Day and food was great, atmosphere was also good. Only problem was waiter was not attentive and seemed a little over whelmed. After waiting for some time he comes over and said "thought you had ordered already". Then he proceded to inform us that this was his first day out of training. Felt the establishment should have been staffed with experienced and knowledgeable servers."
