"I had been here several years ago and really enjoyed the food. I ordered the king crab ($50), and it was quite small looking and had no flavor. The lighting was so obscure that our server was always back-lit and we never could actually see his face. There are too many good seafood restaurants in St Louis to seriously consider coming back."

"I've been here several times before. Not just in St. Louis but Baltimore as well. I must say the food was delicious. My mom and I shared the shrimp kisses appetizer. Jumbo shrimp wrapped in bacon and pepper jack cheese flash fried. First time I'd ever had anything wrapped in bacon. The bacon was lean and not fatty at all. And it was just so so good. That includes the salad and the meal. The meal and service were excellent!!"

"When we made our Open Table reservations for McCormick & Schmick's, we knew we'd be in for a delicious treat. What we didn't expect was the attention to detail that came with the wonderful meal. In the comments portion of our reservation, we noted our special occasion: an engagement celebration! Not only were we congratulated by the reception staff but they had actually printed personalized menus to congratulate us. The shrimp kisses were an amazing appetizer and the chefs special moo fish was a very yummy entree, but the dessert took it all: a chocolate "bag" filled with berried and white chocolate mousse. It was a perfect pairing with Pinot noir! Well done McCormick & Schmick's! We'll be back!"

"Food was good Mother's Day, truffles were a big hit! Service on special days can be challenging. What made it memorable were the servers. My 10 year old grandson was with 3 generations of woman. A gentleman server said to my grandson, "Do you know that when a gentleman is at a meal with ladies, he pays the bill?' To which my grandson's eyes went wide-open and we played along, especially his 92 year old great grandmother. Then, when the bill arrived, our server, who had done a great job, placed the folder on his spot. When my grandson returned, the look on his face was priceless. He caught on immediately and we all laughed. Having great food is important, but it's people that make a place welcoming, fun and beckon a return."

"First, the valet parking was full. I had to beg my way to have them park my car. Only 2 valet people were working.
Second, the service was SLOW considering advance reservations.
Third, I chose this restaurant instead of Flemings thinking that $39.00 per person was too expensive for lunch. Ended up paying over $250.00 for 4 people, that's over $60 per person. While the food tasted very good, it definitely was NOT worth the expense!"

"Please always serve bread with the wine. We had to ask three times--the third time I actually had to go find a waiter to get it. Our own winter ignored us. When you have a long wait for food and you are really hungry, it makes the wait tolerable.

"Our party consumed drinks, hors d’ouvres, main courses but no deserts. The service was good and I have no fault with them. The calamari hors d’ouvres were not fully cooked. The environment was noisy enough for me to not be able to talk with anyone at a range of just one person away from where I was seated. So in a party of seven I was unable to talk with half of my guests. Having eaten at a number of McCormick & Schmick’s restaurants I feel the decor was substantially less at this location than any of their other restaurants. Of the seven people in my party, two of us liked what we ate. The others had no comments. To me, that is not a good sign."

"I dined at M & S with business associates that were in St. Louis to visit clients. We had a delicious meal and the service was impeccable. The only complaint was the fact that the waiter offered Bass as a Chef's special and then he had to come back later and say that the restaurant was out of Bass. "This restaurant is attached to a mall and has a very chain restaurant feel. It has decent food, if you can get someone else to pay for your meal. The fish and chips meal is giant and could easily be two dinners. Nothing particularly bad about the place, but nothing unique about it either."

"As a seafood lover living in the Midwest, I was resigned to getting my "seafood fix" when I visited the coast in my travels. Therefore, I was extremely pleased with the delicious meal we enjoyed on our first visit to McCormick & Schmicks! The seafood was excellent! Delicious, generous portions, prepared attractively, all was perfect! Drew was an attentive server who gave us lots of information about the menu items so we could make our selections. We enjoyed seared scallops, grilled salmon, crab stuffed shrimp, spring rolls, everything we ate was fixed to perfection, it really was. We will be back at this location and we'll also the visit the location in Kansas City at our next opportunity."

"We have been to McCormicks several times and consider it up scale for the area. The excellent food is usually paired with impeccable service which justifies the cost of a special night out. During this visit we had Nicki who seemed to be running around everywhere but our table. Although these are little things, it is the little things that makes dinning here a valued experience. We had to ask for water which came sometime around the same time we received our apps. The bread came after asking for it when we started our main course. She didn't put in our order for appetizers until after she brought our bottle if wine which was already 15 minutes into our visit. "We got there for a 9;00pm reservation on a Sunday night. We were the only table being served. Our server was excellent. Only negative (and this was a biggie for me) was the guy beginning to do his close out chores and mopping kitchen mats in the dining room right in front of as we ate. I know we were the last table but you just have to wait until diners aren't eating to begin mopping. Otherwise very good meal."

"Very disappointed. Went for Easter brunch and it did not meet expectations. We started with the lobster bisque, which was ok. Nothin I wold seek out in the future. Bacon wrapped shrimp was next and again, ok. Was not overly impressed. My brunch entree was Crab Cake Eggs Benedict. I felt it was somewhat bland. The potatoes O'brien tasted as if they were frozen Ore Ida potatoes. Best thing on the plate was the fruit cup. My fiancé had the Mahi Mahi and she was happy with it, so maybe it was just their brunch food."

"Stuffed salmon was wonderful, tilapia was great also. Service was very attentive. Not as "stuffy" now that Landry's has taken over -- what a wonderful change of atmosphere! But this is not Landry's food -- nor is it the old McCormicks -- sort of a hybrid. Worth going for dinner!"
