"I had to revise the reservation number several times (a business meeting) and the staff was most cordial and helpful. Our waiter was very good and knew his wines and the food was served hot and as a group....very pleasant evening."

"M&S is a very solid place. I have been to them all over the country, and have never regretted it. But, M&S "is what it is" - a pricey high-end, very predictable chain. You don't get a lot of value there, and probably pay more than you should for what you et. By the same token, you are rarely disappointed. To its credit, M&S offers a lot of variety and there is something for everyone."

"We met with friends who we haven't seen in many years. The food was servered quickly and hot. Our server was very nice and knew the menu items, we asked if we could substitute a different item, he was more than happy to make sure we had it. It wasn't very busy that evening so we were able to sit and enjoy our visit. We loved the dessert menu too."

"Sourdough bread was excellent but small servings so had to ask for more. Server just didn't come around to offer more bread. Food preparation was okay. The broccoli was to hard to cut into bite sizes. The trout was filled with heavy sauce. Next time I will order it plain on the grill. Peach cobbler was perfect. For the price you should be offering organic salads, fruits and vegetables, at least. Also, it would be good if you had fresh fruit on the menu besides non-organic berries."

"Despite making a reservation a week in advance McCormick & Schmick's staff was not ready for us. We arrived at 11:30. The hostess realized she had no lunch menus. We were seated but waited for our fresh squeezed lemonade because there was no bartender. Our menus arrived after 15 minutes literally hot from the printer. We finally ordered, nothing complicated just lunch specials however our meals arrived at 12:25 for our 11:30 lunch. Everyone was very hungry. We needed to gulp our food to be back to work for our 1:00 meeting.
Very disappointing. Not the service I would expect. With so many other choices in the area I would recommend dining elsewhere."

"I expected a high end place like this to have much bigger buffet selections for Mother's Day. The food was good, but there weren't nearly enough choices to justify the cost. Mother's didn't even get a free drink or flower or anything. They offered up Mimosa's to us moms, but charged an arm and a leg for them! Our server was outstanding though."

"The food they had for the mothers day brunch was very good.The bloody mary my mother had was great she said. My problem was that we spent $180.00 and realy there was not that much food to choose from .Needed to be Alot more for the money spent .We always go out for special days and I dont think we would go back because of this.Also the parking cost you $5.00 and I think the reastraunt should pay for this."

"After a horrible experience at another M&S location last Mother's Day, we decided to give the chain one more try, and dined at the Rosemont location this Mother's Day. We had excellent service and the food was all very good. I've brought many groups here for business dinners as well, and they always do an excellent job of meeting our needs."

"I really thought the food was just ok. I was expecting more. Although I didn't have a "bad" experience, I definitely wasn't blown away. With so many other great restaurants, I would not recommend it to anyone. Also, I received an email about free truffles for Mother's Day & no one offered us truffles. In fact, this is the first time I go out for Mother's Day & don't receive any special gesture of some kind. =\"

"Love this restaurant! There is a beautiful, elegant-looking bar just off to the side where you walk in. Bartender made a perfect cosmopolitan. We were seated in a booth, as I requested. The food was all very fresh and delicious! We had Wedge Salads, Mahi Mahi, Crab Cakes and Filets. My husband said his steak was one of the best he has ever had. Small downside - broccoli was undercooked. Other than that, all 4 of us agreed it was an awesome dining experience."

"We went there for our 25th anniversary. Made reservations online but called ahead to see if they could make a special dessert. They agreed -I was thrilled. When it arrived, it was pathetic. I asked for a large plate to have the words Happy 25th or Happy Anniversary written across the rim and a martini glass inserted in the center with some icecream. My fault-I didn't elaborate on specifics but seeing that they are fine dining, I didn't think I would need to spell out let's make it special. What arrived was 2 scoops of vanilla icecream in a martini glass atop a small bread plate that they wrote 25 but the chocolate was smeared and smashed. very disappointing. no presentation at all. I paid $10 for that dessert- disappointing"

"It was hard to figure out where to park. There is a parking lot, but it was so full we ended up parking on the 10th floor. Didn't validate out parking, so we paid full price. The food was decent, the service wasnt the greatest. Our waitress took 30-45mins to get back to our table, so we found ourselves at time waiting. I would suggest a different location."

"The appetizer (Ahi Tuna) was the best part of the meal! I would go for appetizers and drinks any time. We went to this restaurant due to it's location near the concert venue that we were attending. "We went to McCormick and Schmick's to celebrate my husband's birthday. The experience was terrific. The food was so delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection! Our waiter was fantastic! "We chose your restaurant to celebrate my mother's 93rd birthday -- and left disappointed. The food was very good, but our server was abrupt and mildly rude. He did not come by to check on us, and when we did need to ask for something, it took us several attempts to get his attention. When we mentioned the birthday celebration, nothing was offered. When we ordered a dessert anyway, it did not have a candle, yet at the next table (different server) someone else celebrating a birthday DID receive a birthday dessert. For the type of restaurant you operate, and the prices you charge, I expect a higher level of service. I would not recommend McCormick & Scmick's to anyone celebrating a special celebration."

"Service and Salads were outstanding. The server was excellent; accommodating and attentive. Unfortunately, The scallops were chewy and overcooked. The Sea Bass spring special was actually under-cooked. The Edamame also felt slightly under-cooked, where it was chewier than most I have previously consumed. It is a shame because it is a beautiful restaurant."

"Arrived at 5:30pm with a well behaved 2 year old after a show at the nearby theatre. We were told by a hostess with an attitude that they were full and seating only reservations in the dining room. We walked the couple of blocks back to our car before we realized we should check Open Table - and discovered there were openings in 15 minute increments for the next hour and a half. So we booked the next reservation, walked all the way back, and were seated immediately. There were at least 5 tables open in our immediate vicinity the entire time we ate and a few more opened up while we were there.
Our food would have been good had it come out warm. That combined with the hassle getting in means we won't be coming back."

"It was my birthday, and I liked that our waiter "Fred" did not rush us. I don't like going to a nice restaurant and feel rushed. I was a little disappointed, even tho, my husband ordered me some fruit, that I didn't get a cake with a candle on it.
Probably, cause he felt, I had enough to eat!

"I had never been to a McCormick & Schmick's before so was looking forward to eating here with some friends from out of town. However, I was very disappointed and would not choose to go back again for the price we paid.
We all ate seafood and we could have made better seafood at home for the taste and the price....I had salmon and recently had salmon at the Outback Restaurant and it was much better than what I had at McCormick & Schmick's.
Also, our server was not at all attentive.....she seemed to be in a hurry to get our order, and then when we wanted a second glass of wine, it took her over twenty minutes to get it to us.
Needless to say, it was a very disappointing experience."

"As a frequent M&S patron my expectations were high and they were met. I had never been to the Rosemont location but I was very pleased with everything, both the food and the service. I was especially pleased with the proximity to our hotel (Intercontinental- Rosemont). It was a birthday celebration and every server and host we encountered remembered to say "happy birthday". I am a loyal customer and when I am back in Rosemont, I will definitely dine at M&S."
