"I would recommend summer winter with reservations. I would warn others that it can be more expensive that other choices. We had lovely bread plates on our table but we never received any bread I thought that was somewhat unusual. As much as I enjoyed it, it could have been better."

Review 2 for Summer Winter at Marriott Boston Burlington
"Other restaurants in the Burlington area were totally booked so we chose Summer Winter. It was a good default restaurant. We found the salads were skimpy for the price but the entrees were good. We would go back in the same situation."

Review 4 for Summer Winter at Marriott Boston Burlington
"I go to Summer Winter from time to time and I am always happy with the experience. The menu is a good balance between interesting enough for foodies and yet not too crazy for the non-adventurous. It's not a cheap meal but its well worth the few extra dollars for a great meal!"

Review 5 for Summer Winter at Marriott Boston Burlington
"Food was pretty good but the place seemed pretty bland and dull. Service was a bit lackluster - while I appreciate that our waiter wasn't constantly asking how our food was, I did have to wait a long time to pay my bill"

"Had a great Saturday evening dinner. This is a first class restaurant. The menu has changed a little in the last few months, but the quality and selection have not. Ambience is like any wonderful free-standing restaurant. Give it a try--you will love it."

"first, how can you have a $52 steak on your menu and yet your waitstaff walks around in blue jeans? secondly, the crabcake had zero real crab meat in it.
i won't go back."

Review 10 for Summer Winter at Marriott Boston Burlington
"Had some wine and drinks at the bar had difficulty getting bartender to settle our tab as he became very busy at the bar. Suggest separte bar area wait staff. Just before entrees arrived we ordered another bottle of wine it took a long time to come (?busy Bartender?)Halfway through our entrees, wine arrived. Seemed like young waitresss was overwhelmed also the room was full as there was a large conference there. They should have known they would be busy put on extra staff. Not up to par for this famous duo restaurant owners."

Review 15 for Summer Winter at Marriott Boston Burlington
"Food was excellent. Service on a Saturday evening was very poor. Even with a reservation, my party and I waited at the entry-desk for almost 10 minutes for any acknowledgement of our presence. Despite there were few diners at the time we entered the restaurant, and though the wait-staff was palite, there was a 10 minute wait to put in our order and a 10 minute wait between each courses (3 courses). Finally, we waited forever for our check.
In contrast, I had gone to lunch several days earlier at Summer Winter and everything was excellent. I returned with a party the following Sat. evening because I had had such a great experience. I was embarrassed that I had recommended the place."

Review 16 for Summer Winter at Marriott Boston Burlington
"Went there during Restaurant Week. They gave all of us their regular menu, but left only one restaurant week menu as if they don't want us to order from that menu. Food was not that good, especially the dessert. Service was OK. The hostess was not very friendly. I was the first one to get there, checked in, was told "no one is here" so I went outside and sat on the curve. She should have offered me to come into the bar or sitting area. All in all, no reason to go back there."

Review 18 for Summer Winter at Marriott Boston Burlington
"I had heard many good reviews about Arrow. When Summer Winter was opened, I eagerly anticipated a wonderful meal. However, that was not the case. The staff were attentive, the ambience was fine, but I was mainly there for a superb meal. At best my dinner was mediocre. The butternut squash soup was bland and my entree was dried out and flavorless. I will never return."

Review 19 for Summer Winter at Marriott Boston Burlington
"My friends, The Ladies Who Lunch, and I enjoyed Restaurant Week Specials and were quite pleased. The squash soup was a perfect entree to the turkey-avocado sandwich, which was so generously sized, I had more than enough for lunch the next day. My friends ordered chopped salads and the crab cake lunch salad; beautifully presented and delicious. The only hiccup was a forgotten cup of coffee. Once brought to her attention, our server brought coffee in a to go cup for my friend for the ride home...a wise and thoughtful move. Summer Winter always classy and a classic. Looking forward to the greenhouse and gardens soon!"

Review 20 for Summer Winter at Marriott Boston Burlington
"When we got to the restaurant, there was no one to greet us so we had to go looking for someone to seat us. My husband's pork chop was very tough and he had to send it back. I had soba noodles with vegetables and there were 5 times more noodles than vegetables.
We had to ask for silverware when our dessert came.
The restaurant did deduct the cost of the restaurant week prix fix amount and we only paid for wine and coffee.
Based on this experience, we would not go back."

Review 21 for Summer Winter at Marriott Boston Burlington
"We went during Restaurant Week and ended up ordering off the Restaurant Week menu. Given Summer Winter's price position and reputation, we expected great. We got "Good." The chopped salad was great. Pork chop - uninspired but well prepared. Roasted Brussels sprouts -- a favorite of ours at home -- were bland (salt helped). Drunken chicken was well prepared. Service was really quite poor. Our server was pleasant enough, but promised to bring bread three times and forgot three times. Her attention was rehearsed bun insincere.
We may go back and try an appetizer at the bar, but the value of the dinner didn't match its price and we won't be back to dine."

"Excellent food and service as always at this quiet, sophisticated restaurant. Not to be confused with the usual adequate but uninspiring hotel based restaurants. The menu cha changes often."

Review 23 for Summer Winter at Marriott Boston Burlington
"Nice place to have lunch if you are looking to also have a conversation, noise level allows you to hear without shouting. Food is always good and inventive. Great raw bar and a small but intimate bar and lounge. Service is always top notch. A little fancier than a chain restaurant but not stuffy and casual dress is acceptable at lunch. One thing I particularly noted on this occasion was that all the men were seated on one side of the dining room and women on the other. It just so happened that there were no mixed groups until my guest arrived. They first were going to seat him in the "Men's" section until he noticed me sitting on the other side of the dining room."

Review 26 for Summer Winter at Marriott Boston Burlington
"The space feels is oddly divided and is not very energetic. It has an old worn feeling. The food is very good but overpriced. The service is excellent, and there is plenty of space for larger groups. The bar area is a good spot for single dining and for travelers. Service was so good I must mention it again, excellent. Now if they can only do something about the space to make it feel less.... old."

"We dined at Summer Winter on a Wednesday night. The restaurant was very quiet that night but the staff was welcoming and pleasant. The ambiance was very relaxing and they seated us in our own little section which was nice instead of crowding us all together. Our food was expertly prepared. The ingredients were very fresh and the dishes very delicious. I will definelty come here again."

"This is an expensive restaurant with very good (but not superb) food. Service was a bit rushed and we had to request a different table after we were initially seated next to a very large party."

Review 29 for Summer Winter at Marriott Boston Burlington
"I do consider this restaurant a hidden gem. Friends had talked about it for years and I delayed going because of the convenient but less charming location on "Burlington Mall Road" in a hotel. Now I've gone twice in one week. I wish the menu was more expansive but what they serve is just perfectly done and delicious. "Sweet Frites" are amazing! The gluten free menu catered to my husband, which makes Summer Winter even more attractive. This restaurant is perfect for so many occasions: a family dinner, perfect for a business lunch or dinner because the tables are spaced out, late night drinks, date night and special events. I hope the greenhouse opens back up as that will add even more to the atmosphere."
