"I took my wife and kids for a luch last Sunday and we had a great time. I was able to make a reservation online with one hour early my arrival at the restaurant and when we got there the table was already setup in a nice location outdoor. Thanks for the great service."

"We dined here on Mother's Day (5:30 reservations) and they were incredibly busy and had been all day according to the hostess. We had a couple of hic-cups with service and food but that can be understood with how busy they were. As the MOTHER, my entree arrive room temp so they took it back and what they replaced it with wasn't much better. Also, they didn't use the sauce that I ordered.........oh well! we had a nice relaxing dinner with our daughter and granddaughter."

"Appetizers were great.. But meals were ok. Steak was a bit burnt and bacon on top of the baked potato was also burnt.. Cajon sward fish wasn't very spicy as expected. Other two dishes were great."

"Everything was well except our food took almost an hour to arrive, and not all at the same time. I noted it to our waitress that I have seen 3-4 tables who were seated after us receive their meals before us. She just blamed the kitchen. I also heard the manager tell customers from two other tables how their "meals were on the house" because of the wait. Well atleast they got something out of it...."

"My wife and I tried the Rusty Pelican for the first time to celebrate our 4 year wedding anniversary. It was such a special night. We made the reservations online and when we arrived, we were greeted by an energetic and professional staff. Our table was ready as soon as we arrived and we had an amazing view! Our server was spot on with everything and really allowed us the time we needed. We were not rushed and encouraged to enjoy our meal. The food, oh the food! Fantastic! We will definitely be back!"

"I've been here more than a dozen times and the food is good. This time the rice was undercooked again, raw grains of mooshy jasmine. This has happened several times before so I just ask for mashed potatoes. It still boggles me why the chef can't manage to cook such a fundamental dish..get a rice cooker or something! Sheesh. The trout like once before had more than5 spine(bones) which isn't a biggie but still, you would think they could get the filet part right. Other than that, it's not a spectatcular type of meal but it gets the job done: fish, decent view, nice crowd."

"The food and service were fantastic. Sadly the noise level means that you have to shout to the person next to you. When in a group this may be fun but if you are trying to have a romantic dinner for two then try outdoors when it is warmer."

"Outstanding! The food was wonderful from the Calamari and garlic bread appetizers to our fish entrees. We can't say enough about how yummy it was. The staff was friendly and fun. "The food, service and ambiance were wonderful. Overlooking beautiful boats, you will enjoy excellent dining in a lovely environment....the mirrors duplicate the view from outside. "Visiting the area and happened upon the Rusty Pelican! Had a great brunch, the seafood omelette was fabulous and the eggs Benedict on a croissant was also a standout! Service was very good on a crowded day and loved sitting by the window with a view! The free flowing champagne, the little cup of fruit and the bread and lemon pound cake were an extra treat. Will defiantly return if we are ever back in the area!"

"This was my first trip to the Rusty Pelican, the service was impeccable and friendly. The food was excellent and the waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and his recommendations helped with choosing what to have. The food was excellent and the flavors allowed for a very amazing experience. "My husband and I just recently moved back from South Coast Orange County (San Clemente) to North Coast OC (Huntington Beach). We had our weekly Date Night this past Saturday at Rusty Pelican and the food and service levels were impeccable. I had the Swordfish simply grilled and my husband enjoyed your Prime Rib Dinner. I am also a member of Landry's Rewards Program and super excited that we will be able to benefit from dining here again in the near future. Thank you so much for making our evening so special and reminding us how great Rusty Pelican is compared to all the other NB restaurants on "Restaurant Row". "We waited about 40 minutes with reservations and watched as people arriving after us got seated first. They allowed for a child to run around a crowded waiting area and let out high pitched screams which can be frustrating after awhile. The service provided felt rushed and we overheard the hostess complain about patrons acting like they are at a sleepover, taking their time eating. We go out to dinner to have a good time and relax, not to be rushed out of the facility. The food was very bland for both my wife and I and ended up upsetting our stomachs. We even sent a side order back. We wasted money on a meal we hardly touched! We can assure you this was our first and last time there. It was one of the worst dining experience we have had..."

"I met a friend for lunch. Server took our drink orders soon after seating. My friend had to leave at a certain time to pick up her grandson from school many miles away, so we were glad to get lunch served without an exceptionally long wait, either. I ordered the fish sandwich the with fries & coleslaw. The sandwich was good and the fries were hot, crisp and delicious, but the slaw was warm and without much flavor. A little salt and pepper improved the flavor if not the texture. Overall, I was satisfied with the meal and enjoyed the coffee and the refills. My friend ordered the clam chowder, salad and tea. She prefers Lipton which was not available. No leftovers. Overall, a good place. Enjoyed the view, too. Will try again."

"My children really love this restaurant..of course me too.
At this time,that's my son's 18th birthday dinner and was really nice.
All of foods what we orderd were great!(I ordered Sea bass grill)

"We chose this restaurant based on their yelp reviews as everyone wanted seafood. We requested a table with a view, and had one of the best views of the sunset and the boats sailing by. This dinner was important as my boyfriend and my parents were meeting each other for the first time. The service was excellent, attentive but not intrusive.
The food was EXCELLENT, my Mom had the Shrimp Scampi, his Mom the blackened Catfish (that was a.w.e.s.o.m.e.), both Dad's had the Halibut, BF had the Mahi Mahi and I had the Salmon with Shrimp and Lobster Sauce. I did get to taste all the entrees, as the portions were generous and we shared. Quite pleased"

"Food and view were positive, service was dodgy... Much confusion about the ordering for our party of 2- for example I ordered an appetizer as my main course... the server repeated back "oh, you want the clams & mussels as your main?"...then it was delivered with the salad of my dining companion. There was other confusion about orders, drinks, etc. we were initially offered a complimentary dessert (for a celebration) then the offer was forgotten.
The food quality was very good and the view is fabulous!!"

"Came here for dinner. Ordered the jumpo shrimp cocktail (9 pieces) for an appetizer, which was good, no complaints. Got the sea bass w/ lemon butter sauce and mashed potatoes, which was tasty, and the 12 oz. prime rib w/ a baked potato, which was also tasty as well. Got a 1/2 bottle of the Cakebread chardonnay (I was pretty surpised to find that they actually had a 1/2 bottle of Cakebread), which was also great. Service was also good, although they added two dishes extra on our bill by mistake (had the waiter correct this). We sat on the patio facing the ocean/marina, which was great, though a bit chilly even w/ the heat lamps on. Would be back, prices were not too bad."

"This was a compromise among a large group of diners, some of whom were more budget conscious than others. The food was fine if unexceptional -- the garlic bread is outstanding. The servers are first class, the view is lovely and the restaurant has character, if a bit predictable for a seafood restaurant at the ocean. Don't get steaks but those who chose seafood were pleased. Nice place for a group outing."

We had the Filet Mignon which was perfectly cooked and tasted superb, fresh vegetables and creamy potatoes. The menus had our names and event on it which added a special touch. "This was our 2nd experience with Rusty Pelican's Sunday brunch. We love the food and the price point for the food as everyone in our family enjoys seafood dishes. The service wasn't quite as good as our 1st experience, but maybe the restaurant was short on help this particular day as it was Palm Sunday. My only complaint is that when you make the reservations on-line using Open Table I don't think that there is an opportunity to request that the reservation be for a table on the patio and we would like to experience sitting outside as opposed to inside by the window. I recommend this restaurant to anyone that I hear might be in the area."

"The view of Newport Bay was beautiful. The service was excellent and well trained. Food service was a bit slow, but well worth it. Everything came out hot and fresh and at a good pace. I took my mother there for her birthday and she really enjoyed it. At the end of dinner, they brought out a small souflee cup with chocolate lava cake, vanilla ice cream, and a candle and sang Happy Birthday. I told them it was her BDAY, but didn't ask for anything. The cake was gratis and greatly appreciated."

"One of my favorite restaurants. A bit disappointed to be seated adjacent to a crowded bar when much better tables opened up shortly after we sat down. I have eaten here many times and ordered a variety of plates. Disappointed this time to find my rice way undercooked. Since it and my mahi mahi were the only things on the plate it made more of a difference to the meal than if there had been vegetables or anything else."
