"Enjoyed the Oysters for starters, and then on to trout, salmon and sea bass. We love to have fish served on the side of less rather than more, cooked, as the fish tends to continue to cook, with time. Salmon was just a little more cooked..sea bass and trout hit the mark. Salads were good, and overall, great dining experience."

"Scott's served up a very nice Mother's Day brunch. My favorites were the lox benedict and the poached wild salmon. Our table was on the outdoor terrace, which was a nice treat on this sunny and warm day.
On the downside ervice was less attentive than desired, and some of our chairs were dusted with black outdoor soot (I wore a white silk shirt)."

"We have gone to Scott's many times through the years and have always enjoyed the experience. The food was very good, the service was a little disjointed, and it has become over priced. 2 of our party of 4 were served and the other 2 meals didn't come for 10 minutes. With the ala carte menu it adds up very fast to $60/head w/tip w/o dessert & just beer and wine. I'm very willing to pay the price for a nice experience and good food. We went last Saturday and probably won't go back for a long time due to all the other options that are available in the area. It is a fun experience to sit and watch the planes land over downtown San Jose, but in this case you are paying extra for that experience."

"I brought my wife here for dinner for mothers day. The restaurant was beautiful the service was great our waitress was very friendly. Mother's Day was celebrated a day early due to work schedule. The time of our reservation in the restaurant was perfect for our dinner outing"

"The food was very good, as usual for a Scott's. The views were actually quite stunning, which was a pleasant surprise.
However, our server would have been very better suited to a lower-scale restaurant like Chili's or Applebee's, not the caliber expected for the prices as Scott's. We had too long of a lag before we received our entrees, which ended up stressing us to finish quickly because we had a theatre performance to get to. Not quite attentive enough when we needed the attentiveness."

"We had 6:00 reservations which we were on time for and we were nearly late for our 8:00 show. I don't believe that we ordered anything complex but it seamed to take forever for the waitress to take our order and for our food to be ready."

"I can not say enough about how wonderful my experience was at Scott's! I went with a friend before going to the show at the Arts Center. She had a specific diet request and the chef was more than willing to accommodate. The food was fresh and delicious. I had the grilled Tuna and it practically melted in my mouth! The wait staff was very attentive. The location is great with excellent views of the city. We sat indoors but there's a nice outdoor patio facing the heart of downtown. The restaurant is located on the 6th floor so no need to worry about street noise."

"My husband and I went Scott's Seafood Restaurant 10 minutes before out scheduled reservation. We were told it would be "just a moment" and be seated at the bar. I explained to the hostess we were attending a function and we needed to be finished by a certain time. She really didn't care and said she would call us when our table was ready. We went to the bar and were ignored by an extremely arrogant bartender who took 10 minutes to even acknowledge us. Since we were on a time restraint, we then tried to order food at the bar, and again totally ignored. 30 minutes later, the hostess called our name for the table.
We left. Scott's employees are rude, arrogant, uncaring, and everything is over-priced for what you get. Never returning here!"

"We sat outside on a lovely evening. That was the best part. The restaurant was pretty empty (not a good sign). The bar was poorly stocked. The server informed me that the bartender could not make a Vesper because he lacked the ingredients. The food was good, but not great. I'd go back with appropriate expectations."

"It was a last minute reservation and we didn't have a problem getting a table at 7:30pm. Plenty of parking (validated for 3 hours). The restaurant was quiet with great views of the city. If the temperature had been a bit warmer, we would have been outside which looked really scenic and romantic. I ordered the cold seafood sampler as my entree. It was a large platter of shrimp, oysters, and ahi. It was all delicious especially the ahi, its accompanying cucumber salad. The oysters were incredibly fresh. My husband had the jambalaya which he liked alot. Dessert was a hot fudge sundae and the best bread pudding I've ever had. Will definitely be back."

"Dinner reservations made for Saturday, 645p PST April 13, 2013. Arrived 640p
Several parties were waiting, and the hostess informed numerous arrivals without reservations of a 30+ min. wait. Waited patiently as it was clear the place was busy, a great sign, right? We began checking our watches around 712p and were, finally, seated ~715. We were brought bread and water right after seating. At least this person did their job! We then sat until around 730 without a single wait person coming to our table. We got up and walked out. We stopped at the hostess stand for her to get the manager. All she did was give us his card and said he was on the floor, but would not get him. We emailed him about the evening never heard from him. Won't go back!"

"It has been years since I dined at Scott's Seafood. I think the last time was either in San Francisco or Palo Alto. I really miss the salad with TRUE rougefort cheese salad dressing. I had the seabass for dinner and it was OK but not great. The vegetables were slightly over cooked for my taste. Ambiance was excellent and service was spot on."

"On April 19, 2013 I took my boy friend to Scott's for his birthday. This was my first time going, so I did not know anything about the restaurant,except for the reviews that I had read on the Internet.But I made a great choice, because the service and the food was great. This is the frist time we have gone to a restaurant and he has no complaints and did not complain about anything. He had the Filet Mignon and it was cook just as he order and I had the tuout which was great. The view was fantastic,over looking the city and very romantic for a birthday dinner. I will be going back again and again and would recommend it to all my friends.Thank you Scott for a beautiful dinner and a wonderful birthday."

"Apparently they had a new cook working the grill tonight. He totally missed on the temperature on my filet mignon. Asked for medium rare, was medium well to well. But it gets worse. It was the saddest cut ever. The fat wasn't trimmed properly, other parts were stringy, and the general shape was poor. The butcher and grill man both need to be shown the door! They do not belong in the restaurant business. Yes, that bad! I've never received such a poor meal here before. The only redeeming aspects of the dinner were the lobster bisque (excellent!) that I started with and my wife's entree, the sea bass. She said it was perfect. The chocolate lava cake was delicious as usual. The kitchen was also very slow tonight, and the restaurant was empty."

"The food was delicious. The style of the restaurant was elegant and supportive of the whole experience. The view was excellent. The service was efficient and non-invasive. "Scott's SJ is a great place for dinner. The Fresh Trout was particularly good. Service was fun and friendly while the food delivery was a little slow. We dined early in order to make A Sunday 6:30 Play ... apparently many others had the same idea as the Restaurant was pretty full... which may have contributed to the slowness of the delivery of our dinners. Try the Roasted Beet Salad. We made the Play in plenty of time!"

"We go to Scott's semi-regularly and we know exactly what to expect. Food is always good, even the kids menu which is a huge plus for families, the staff are all very nice and friendly with a nice ambiance.
The one problem which happens every time we go, (which is normally on a Saturday night) is the waiters/waitresses are always rushing around so much they are unable to spend a proper amount of time per table. It really does seem they are understaffed at least during the rush hour.
Overall, it's a great place, and we will go back."

"A buddy and I went in on a Friday night before a Sharks game. The place filled up fast. My thoughts on dinner: Calamari was nice, lemon sauce +++. Oysters were OK, my friend had one that had an "old - fishy taste." The soups (clam chowder and lobster bisque) were also good, though the clam chowder needed salt and pepper. Still don't know why chefs don't season enough. Wine list is just OK, maybe $10 a bottle more than it should be. We had the Halibut special, potato crusted with a red pepper sauce. Fantastic choice, the fish and accompanying mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus were great. Downside was that the red pepper sauce could have been a little thicker, it was thin and ran under the potatoes. Will be back with the wives."

"To be frank the last time we dined here we were unimpressed and only returned because it's conveniently adjacent to the parking structure and easy access for my father. We were pleasantly surprised, however, to find our Cioppino, Jambalaya and Salmon entrees bright and flavorful. The wait staff was very helpful and responsive. There is a great view of downtown San Jose and airplanes descending for their landing."

"The restaurant was half empty not very busy during the time we were there, but our waitress never attended to us after our order was placed. We were a party of 4. Our waitress never gave us her name, never talked about any specials. Seemed like she didn't want to be there. She never checked back with us after our food was delivered (by someone else). We never heard from her again until she came to pick up the check. We gave this place a second try after bad service a few years ago. I don't think we'll be going back. We were there celebrating a special birthday that I had noted on the reservation. There was never any acknowledgement of it.
It was quite expensive and unimpressive."

"This was my first visit to Scott's Seafood. I didn't know what to expect from a restaurant on top of a parking garage, but I was not disappointed. The entire staff was very good, and the food was fantastic. They have menu choices for everyone, and the grilled halibut special was top notch. I would definitely go back for a special occasion."

"Validated parking was extremely convenient. The city view was good with planes making approaches to SJC adding to the interest. Our fish entrees were all good, we especially liked the side dish of brussel sprouts with bacon. We spent $150 for three people without wine, drinks or dessert, so this is definitely a "special occasion" restaurant for my budget. Portions were definitely more than adequate--none of us had room for desert.
We did request that the volume of the piped in music be lowered, that request was complied with promptly."

"Saturday night, special occasion dinner for three of us. 8pm, the place is practically empty. The service is good. We ordered calamari for appetizer. It was so so. When we asked for the sole, they said they were out. Hm. How about the swordfish? Out. That is pretty bad for a Seafood place. They offered bass which was ok. Sauteed seafood platter (crab, mussels, scallops) was marginal. I asked for the bread pudding for dessert and guess what? Right. They were out. All in all, I wish we went elsewhere."

"Our experience was just fine except for the noise coming from the hall hearby - only curtains separated the large group from the dining room, therefore, you had this continual buzz in the background. Food was good but overpriced. Our waitress was excellent and attentive, and we had a good time. Thank you."
