For outstanding Italian cuisine, look no further than Palermo's 95th. This family run, award winning restaurant specializes in authentic veal, steak, pasta, and fresh seafood creations for lunch and dinner. Established in 1961 by Ben and Nina Calderone, the family tradition still continues thru their sons, Anthony and William. Sherman Kaplen of WBBM radio says, "Palermo's 95th is a true diamond among the southwest side Italian restaurants!" The grilled shrimp and calamari and the 8-finger cavetelli are outstanding. "As usual our dinners (penne portabello + swordfish) were excellent and prepared to perfection. The pizza is superb @ Palermos (some of the best in Chicago IMO) and we couldn't resist taking home a small pie after dinner for the next days meal. Palermos is always consistent in service and great food."

"Great experience for Valentine's Day. Our server was excellent and very attentive. We had the chicken vesuvio and rib eye steak. The steak was very good, tender and juicy. The complimentary valet parking was a great bonus as the restaurant was very busy that night. Overall, it was a good experience for the price."

"We had a wonderful time at Palermo's this weekend. The food was outstanding, and the wine list was great. The service was not the best we'd ever encountered, but it was also Valentine's day weekend, and the place was packed. Prices were very reasonable, and you got a ton of food! We will defintitely go back."

"The service was slow due to an insufficient number of waitresses considering we attended on Valentine Day. We (party of 6) had to wait for long periods of time between courses. I have not experience slow service on previous festive occasions. We consider this to be one of our favorite restaurants."

"The food was outstanding but the service was bad. The waitress barely came to our table. She was no where to be found. We were also seated very close to the other tables which made for a very uncomfortable dinner. I think the people seated next to us were also uncomfortable."

"The food is always great BUT they do NOT know how to manage their restaurant. We had 6:30pm reservations and waited a half hour. Unacceptable. They always have big parties on Saturday's, and then still take normal eating reservations. I can't tell you how many people were disgruntled. And never once an apology! Must say we will not be going back; who needs the hassle?"

"We did have a reservation but it was not honored until approximately 20 minutes later. The restaurant was very crowded and while waiting to be seated, there is just no room to wait. Bar area was filled and there was barely standing room in the foyer area. I kept getting bumped into and really did not know where to stand to wait. We are regular customers and love the restaurant and don't mind a short wait but really there should be more area to wait in or just don't take the walk ins that are waiting to be seated."

"Everytime I leave this restaurant, I think, "why don't I come here more often?!" The
pizza is excellent, all the pasta is home made and all entrees are cooked to perfection.
This is a neighborhood spot but its reputation is Chicago wide. A great place for
a special occasion or a famility get together. The Calderone Family has done an outstanding job with this restaurant."

"Our dinner was top notch. We ordered the Palermo Pizza which was served "roof of you mouth burning" hot which tells me the speed of service (over to table) is very good. One party member ordered the large salad with terrific sliced meats, olives, and other assorted veggies heaping on his plate. Minestrone soup was excellent. As for ambience, the place is pretty crowded with tables. Unfortunately for us we had familes around us who's kids don't know the meaning of remain at the table and parents who brought cars and truck to play with on the floor. But the wait staff did their best to crawl over the little tykes and make the best of it."
