A city-hip restaurant located in Jacksonville’s historic San Marco district, Bistro Aix brings an intriguing mix of vibrant sights, sounds, and flavors to Jacksonville.
Seasonal Mediterranean and French bistro-inspired menu features wood-fired oven and grilled specialties including pizzas, pastas, risottos, steaks and seafood, complemented by professional, unpretentious service. "It's a shame that it's only open for brunch on special days like Mother's Day when we were there. They had a special limited bruch menu which was terrific. Mom had the veggie quiche, my wife the shrimp and grits, me the pok loin. All were excellent. This would be a terrific every sunday brunch place.
This ws my seond time. first was a dinner event and the food, service, etc was equally terrific. Not inexpensive, but value is exceptional."

"I felt the entre was ok. I had the chicken and it was basically just a baked half chicken with bland green beans and and puréed sweet potatoes. I feel like I could have gone to Boston Market and got a tastier meal for a third of the price. The aperçus er and the desert were good, but not great."

"As a frequent diner at this restaurant, my experience last Saturday evening was not very good. Our waiter was extremely laid back and seemed to have his mind on something but making our experience at the restaurant enjoyable. As a former waiter/bartender myself, I can tell you that you NEVER bring a drink order to only one member of the party with the excuse that the bartender is running behind. Ten minutes later my drink arrived with the obligatory, "sorry for the wait." Overall the food was very good but the overall service and attitude will have to change if I am going to be a regular customer of this establishment again."

"I'm usually a huge fan of Aix, and the food was good but we had the worst service I've ever had. Our waitress acted like she was brand new - if that had been the case, I would have given her a bit of a break and not written a negative review - but she said she had just gotten back from vacation, so I'm assuming she's been around long enough to get a vacation and should have known better than to bring the wine pairs after we had eaten half of our entrees (among many other unprofessional mistakes)."

"There was a party of 4 and this was the first time any of us had dined with Bistro Aix. What a fabulous experience! Our waiter, Chris, was phenomenal! He was very knowledgeable about the menu items and explained the specials perfectly. We told him we had a show at 7:30 and he made every effort possible to get us out of the restaurant and to our show on time.

"On our annual visit to Jacksonville AIX is a staple. We find their brick oven pizzas a great starter; very nice salads and crisp calamari follow; this trip steak, tasty chicken, perfectly prepared grilled tuna and the catch of the day (flounder) prepared in a very nice mix of veggies. Wine list yielded a nice chardonnay and cab (they were out of our petite syrah) and then we washed down some excellent chocolate challenges."

"The food was fabulous; it was some of the best I'd had in the fourteen years I've lived in Florida.Particularly noteworthy in the food department was the creamy French onion soup. The desert menu looked great, but I chose something smaller rather than chocolate at that late hour I chose a coconut macaroon. It was quite the risk because it was my birthday and I wanted a memorable finish to the fine meal I'd had. It was such ambrosia that my husband ordered one too upon having a tad of mine.Although there was only one negative about the restaurant, it was a big one. All of the hard surfaces inside made for such a high noise level it was difficult to hear what was being said without feeling like I was shouting. Not a venue for romance."

"Had an amazing dinner. Brian our server was great. I started out with the escargot, which was by far the best I've had. Plated with a flakey puff pastry. My finance started with the Tomato soup, amazing smokey flavor. Drinks were great. I had the old fashion, she had a mango martini. For our entrees, we had the blue bay muscles and risotto. "My husband and I were the only brave souls to sit at an outdoor table; luckily the hearers were working! Seared tuna, mussels frite, steak frite. And blonde brownie with ice cream all were delicious. The service was excellent other than delivery of our second glasses of wine. They arrived when we were half done with our entrees. Waitress comped one of the glasses without us asking for anything, the mark of a classy establishment."

"My friends from out of state loved the food . What we loved the best was the option to choose a light entree or full entree.
The only thing that we did not enjoy was the noise. It was hard to hear across the table.

"I went back to AIX for the grilled tuna- and it was as great as I remembered! My wife equally enjoyed her salmon. The service was great. The "noise" was more than I like, but I believe this could be helped with attention to sound-softening techniques. You might want to look into this.

"We had the Grilled Tuna and the Seafood pasta. Both were superb! Service was great, our water glasses were kept filled. The only negative was the noise. We went on a Thursday night and it was so noisy it was very hard to hold a conversation between the three of us."
